Great work,thank you for sharing.
It generates way sharper photos than oos camera
And is more feature packed, say, a manual white balance.
Issue report:
1080/60fps no work
Says capture failed whenever scene is dark and night mode kicks in, which is really sad
Edit:
60fps do records but audio is in 1x while video is in 2x

Comparison shots are always welcome.
I tried it just out of curiosity, but I have to admit that I think the photos it takes might be better than with OOS cam. The only option I changed was to make it focus before taking each picture, which incidentally doesn't seem to really add any lag time. Thank you for the port -fluffy-.
I tried on LAOS but I cant seem to get it tp show up in the apps. I followed the instructions though.

Is there any way to set this as the default "gallery". As in when i hit the pictures in the lower right corner when im using the camera, that it will open this gallery view instead?

I don't think so...unfortunately.
If using this gallery...make sure you set your videos to be saved on your SDCard because if you dont they go to your internal phone memory and this Gallery wont be able to see them.
Thank you sir. I didn't even know a multi touch version was out of gallery.
Much obliged.

Does anyone else gallery app not read the internal memory folders like DCIM>100Media where the cameras default pic folder saves to? I know I can change the camera app to save on sd but I'd rather have it read the internal memory if possible.

What are the differences between the stock/sense gallery and this multi touch gallery?
Has anyone found a Camera app that is compatible with XT720 ?
or know of a way to disabling the stock Camera shutter sound ?
many of the apps that works fine (on/off sound) on my other phones it doesn't seem to work on the XT720
it seems to completely ignore if you have the shutter sound off, even on camera apps that provide that option.
I just plugged-in my earphone, so the sound is redirected to the earphone instead of the camera speaker. ... that's the fastest way to do.
go to /system/media/audio/ui/ and look for cameraXXXX.ogg and either rename it or cut and paste it somewhere else. no more click

go to adb shell...

You can try using root explorer to delete/rename the files. Or install terminal emulator to type the commands written by khalpowers:
su
...
exit

Master solution. Refer to youtube: "adb shell" if you're a noob.
Just use root explorer to rename the extension from .ogg to .bak. then the sound will be gone.

u can do what khalpowers suggested in terminal emulator app after typing "su" for superuser permisions. no adb for me.

Just flash one of the custom ROM.

Long way to go when all you have to do is change your camera sound from .oog to .bak in /system/media/audio/ui/
Plus if you remove it and then decide to sell your phone or have to turn it back in, you have to find that file again. This way all you have to do to turn it back on is change it back from .bak to .oog and viola, it is back.
Far far easier just to do that. Don't need adb, don't need to flash another rom. Just make sure in Root Explorer you are RW and not RO.

That's what I just said... and its .ogg not .oog. and lol installing a custom ROM might not necessarily remove the shutter sound.

Hard Answer:
http://androidforums.com/droid-x-su...how-do-you-turn-off-shutter-sound-camera.html
And then they direct you to
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...62081-silence-camera-sounds-3.html#post677444
And then the link inside is to android.git.kernel.org and I think that may still be down.
Easy Answer:
Turn your sound to silent.
Thanks for it.
Sometimes things can be that easy....
the CM6 has a build in feature to disable that

how to install camera.apk?
I am a forum noob trying to figure out how to install camera.apk over the existing system app. I consider myself a competent searcher/hacker but little experience with android beyond a careful root and backup. I tried hard searching the forums and web without success on how to do this. If you can help with instruction or point me to a resource I would appreciate it. Cheers
Instructions for installing apk with root explorer:
1. download apk or apks your sd card
2. navigate to file and copy or move apk or apk's
3. navigate to system/app
4. tap on r/w at the top
5. paste all apks
6. change permissions to match the other apks's in the system/app directory.
7. Reboot
Root explorer is my file manager of choose but any file manager with root access will work
X
So this is a totally off topic, sorta, question about the camera.apk...
I like the Camera on this device. Its fast, very fast but on the ROM Ultimate G2x the camera lags like no other!! But the one on CM7 is smooth and i like that one very much!
So my question is, can i replace the camera on the Ultimate ROM with the one found on the CM7 ROM even though one is running Android 2.2.2 and the other is running 2.3.[?] ?
Thank you for your time!

Buy root explorer or do it in terminal. Its worth it to buy Root Explorer, you will use it in the future.
Super Weird... But I use CM7 (Build 54 with colorized nightlies) I backed up / replaced the camera, as I dont like the CM7 one (since I cant zoom with the dam volume buttons) and applied this .apk.
Gave me a boot loop... I dunno if it was cm7 or andriod commander.
I'm pretty sure you need the lg framework for it to work
Now if only we could patch the apk so it doesnt have issues when below 15% battery. I HATE that limitation.
In that case i use "hdr camera+" app its a really good camera app only thing is doesnt have flash. But other than that is a good camera app.

Also Have Camera Problems
Hi guys my name is Natalli and I am new here so please don't attack if I posted in the wrong thread.
I believe this thread should be most appropriate.
I am working with a G2x freshly rooted as of today.
Flashed to a "P999_2.3.3_Stock_Tweaked_v1.2.2" rom that I found on this site.
So far everything is great.
MY DILEMMA:
Ever since I updated my G2x from the stock version over to Gingerbread I noticed that my awesome camera app disappeared. The one from the previous version had no shutter sound (which is a blessing) plus the settings were a lot better!
I do not like the camera layout or the position of the buttons.
I'd like to find the camera app that I had before. So would I be looking for the Froyo camera app? Or is it the LG camera??? I am confused please help.
I hate this new camera app, always have and always will.
LG camera is the one your looking for. (That was also on froyo) its ported by flaco, you can find it in the developement section. Its not a 100%, but it works just find in my opinion ( since I don't use the ffc so much)
