How to open .zip or folder in Gear s3? - Samsung Gear S3

Please anyone help me! I have a mac and i have download some watchfaces and they are at .zip file or a folder with files inside and i want to make them ".gwd" or ".watch" files how do this on mac or from dropbox if it helps??

Rename the file from *.zip to *.watch. That's all there is to it.
Watchmaker uses .watch files.

Thanks for your answer but I have do it and is not worked rename. I try to import from watchmaker the renamed file and nothing again..
From a folder how to import at watchmaker? Folder have files and is not one file as *.watch or *.gwd

I can't help you on the Mac part as I don't do Apple but it has to be a "watch" file and you can't import a folder of files. A watch file can be unzipped to make a folder but you don't want to do that. Some websites offer them as zip files and then you have to rename it as example - mywatchface.zip = mywatchface.watch. Sometimes if you rename a file extension it will leave the old extension and add the new afterwards. If all else fails post your problem on the WatchMaker Google Plus discussion. There are lots of Mac users there.

How to install?

Hi there, I just bought a new HTC 2 Pro and upgrade to 6.5, so now I want to install a few application that I download from here but all I see is files and a setup.xml, there is no .cab file on it. Can some body tell how can I work this out.
Thank You.
What kind of files besides the xml? What were you trying to install?
Does the file you download appear as a .zip when you find all the files (like _setup.xml)? Your internet browser might be renaming the .cab extension on the downloaded files to .zip. When you're looking at the file you downloaded on your computer, does it show up with the extension .cab or .zip (does it look like a filing cabinet or a zipped folder)? If the file with _setup.xml inside it shows up as a ZIP file, rename the extension to .cab, place it on your device somewhere, and open it with File Explorer Mobile (on your device). You're likely opening the cab file one way or another
Thank you for your replys. I am trying to install (Srub) in my phone. when I extrac the files to a folder all I see is _setup.xml, 000scrub.000, 000scrub.001 and thats it. So do I have to rename one of this to .cab? if it is which one is?
my money is on the file you extracted those files from
rename that to cab
Problem Resolve, I upgrade to the later Rom (EnergyROM Leo! Landscape and Documents!) and this rom have an application named (Pocket Rar) so I just create a folder inside my Doc and launch the .cab from there. I love it!!! Thank You all for your help.

[Q] Is there and app that can launch an apk from within a RAR archive?

Hi im looking for a file manager that can launch an .apk file that I have compressed into a .rar archive.
Astro Manager can do this for zip files but rar is a much better archive and has higher compression.
Does anybody know of one that is compatible with rar and can launch it "directly" from the archive, and not just extract it somewhere and you have to then manually launch it.
I don't know any file manager with RAR support built-in.
But there are 2 apps for RAR archives in the Market: Unrar and Unrar Pro.
So at least you can unrar the archive and then install the APK with a file manager (Astro, ES File Manager, ...).
Edit: well I missed the last part of your message : "not just extract it somewhere and you have to then manually launch it". Sorry...
Yeah bud, You see that's the prob, the only ones ive found are ones that have to extract somewhere and then you manually launch it.
What im looking for is same functionality as zip has with Astro where yu can launch the apk directly from inside a zip file. It will extract it first in background and then automatically launch for you so the extracted file stays in cache or some temporary folder.
Hopefully winrar will release an official app at some point or somebody releases a solution
Maybe ask to the team of one of the existing file managers if they can add support for RAR, instead of having yet another file manager, only for RAR.
I have done.
I was simply asking if there was currently one available in the mean time.
Hopefully ASTRO will integrate rar support, its by far the best file manager ive used.
Then you have not tried ES File Manager

Yes I have.
It doesnt do what im asking.
[edit] Infact ive just tried it again and it doesnt even support rar archives at all, it cant extract or load from them.
What im looking for is a program that can launch a spk fiel from within an archive. There are many managers that can extract files from them but what im looking for is something that extracts in background to temp files and launches the file directly via the archive when viewing, Just like Astro does with zip files but for rar.

An APK file by nature is a ZIP file. The reported files/folders make up an APK file.
Read also here:
Structure of an Android App Binary (.apk)

To install the APK replace file's extension "ZIP" by "APK".
Hello thank you sir,
but the problem I have exactly, is, when I download a zip file from github, your mentioned method wouldn't work.
Maybe you have another solution

[Q] Has this happened to anyone else?

i switched roms acouple times today and this has happened one other time.
All my video files not the folders or subtitles or anything just the video files themselves have been deleted.
Using brilliant corners and bottle o smoke and bam they are gone...
all you have to do is make a no media file. basically make a new text doc on your computer and just save it as ".nomedia" You do not have to write anything in the file. This will tell the tablet not to delete any files out of this folder. put this file in every folder that has media items. I hope this helps.
Hmmm...I've never had that happen to me, but thanks for the tip fosser2
It's a known issue and easily fixed with the .nomedia file. Beware though that windows won't let you create such a file. I think most android file managers will allow you to create a file and rename it ".nomedia".

You can easily make this file form windows. Right-click on any explorer window and choose New>Text file. Then just rename it to .nomedia instead of NewTextDocument.txt or whatever the default is.
Scratch that. Windows says "type a file name" or something. Just use notepad++ as someone else mentioned...

In addition to apktool (thanks, @kaiodduarte), you're also going to need a good text editor (I use Notepad++), an archive manager (like 7zip or WinRAR), and the ZipSigner app for your device.

It will help you with actually being able to make edits to text files without screwing up all of the line endings and encoding.
