i was wondering if anyone has seen any microfiber/clotch sleeves for the epic, similar to the one the palm pre comes with in the case. amazon.com/Palm-Sprint-Microfiber-Cleaning-Carrying/dp/B002RCPMA2
or the leather blackberry sleeve
going to be getting my epic in about a week any recommendations on accessories?
I picked up a holster from the sprint store when I got mine, the inside is soft and fits the phone perfect, even has a little galaxy S logo on the metal tab. Little more expensive, but it was worth the $30 for me.
i was thinking just like a sleeve no holster
i work at a prefered retailer for sprint (Jetmobile) the cases we have in our store blow, i might check out the corperate store see what kind of stuff they have
http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-Neopre...161004?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4151515d2c
supposedly that fits the epic really well. I don't have it though
I know exactly what you mean, and I'm dieing for this.
senacases.com and look at the ultraslim cases
This is the sleeve I found, and used when I had the Hero, lov-lov-loved it!
When I first got it, it was nice and snug, after a week or so it stretched and formed to the device perfect. Wouldn't slip or fall out on its own, but slipped right out when I wanted it. I noticed it also kept my screen consistantly clean. Didn't add any noticeable bulk in my pocket, and was able to pull my phone out of varios pants easily(carhartt's with deep pockets, slim/straight jeans, fabric shorts, gym shorts) and not drag the pocket out with it, like rubber cases do.
Also, I'm an industrial electrician, so my pockets are always having dirt/dust/debris in them. This instantly made a noticeable difference in the dirt build up on my hero, to almost non-existant.
I emailed these guys about the Epic, asking if they were going to make a case. And in short said; they'll make a case when they have enough people request it. So if you're wanting an awesome, high quality sleeve, please email these guys. Let them know there's a demand.
Also when I emailed them, I noted that I wanted an Ultra Slim Case, but if at all possible, adding a flap, or some design feature to make it sealed close. Just my little request...hm, can't post links
Yet another "which case" thread (sorry.) Siedio Active vs. Otterbox Commuter?
I've been using a couple of different TPU cases, but I'm tired of the hit-or-miss quality control on them. They get the job done, but I think it's time for a proper case instead of going the cheap route.
I'm totally torn between the Otterbox Commuter and the Seidio Active cases. Both are dual layer (silicon and hard shell,) and are around the same price. I like the look of the Otterbox case more, but have heard horror stories about the silicon stretching out rather quickly. The Seidio seems to be designed to avoid this problem, but lacks the port covers and sleek look of the Otterbox.
Out of the two, which is better in terms of build quality, durability, button stiffness, and least bulky? Since they offer the same protection, I'm more concerned with those aspects... I just want a quality case that will last a long time without being warrantied due to design flaws (like I've heard about the Otterbox.)
So, what do you suggest?
I've been using the Otterbox Commuter series for almost 5 months now and the silicon is still intack.
I have both and I can honestly say they were good but I got tired of the big bulky phone look. I recently purchased this one and to be honest I love it better then the other two.

As for which of the two I liked better? I like the otterbox better. I used it more. Hope this helps.

Haha, that is actually the case I'm using now. It's okay, but I don't care for the way it is concave along the top edge, and the fit is a little off. I'm now looking for a higher quality case, that will protect my device for as long as I own it. I'm not too concerned with a little bulk, as I've had a case on it since I got it.
Thanks for the replies so far, please keep them coming!
I've been using the Otterbox Commuter case for a while now and I love it. Only complaint is the headphone port cover that doesn't like staying in. Not a big deal though. Love the case
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
IMO I'd always considered Ottercase as the ultimate protection. So I never really looked into getting one for my devices because I baby my phones . The farthest I've gone with the protection grade is the Seidio Active with kickstand. The protection is great in using it. I come to the realization that this case is ideal for traveling. Case in point, I had the Seidio on when I went to Disneyworld last year and at the Magic Kingdom shows, the crowds usually gather at the cobblestones at the castle. Being I have my, then 2 and a half year old, she was indeed a handful, even though my wife was there with me as well. lol.... Setting up the scene there, after the event, I had my phone on my lap and when the show ended, it was like a mad dash to move and not thinking, I stood up and the phone fell from my lap onto the stones. I freaked lol, but gladly the fall bounced on the corners and nothing was damaged.
Moral of the story, if you are a clutz get the otter box lol, if you are in an office most of the time, then get something a tad thinner and get the Seidio with the holster. That's what I have and I have to say is kinda business friendly in looks as well.
However, I cannot say anything negative about otterbox, because I have never used one on my devices. Heck, my Kindle Fire is also sporting the active case style .
GL in your choice, its really your call in determining which is the "better" case. Kinda like beauty, this would be in the eyes of the beholder in a sense.
EDIT: And don't worry about the lack of holes on the back. It never affected how the phone worked signal and call wise.
Thanks for all the replies, I really appreciate the input!
So far, I'm leaning toward the Otterbox Commuter case, though I won't be ordering until this afternoon... so if anyone has any last minute suggestions (even recommending another case,) I'm all ears. I'd rather not keep ordering cases in search of the right one for me, so any and all advice would be a huge help.
Thanks again!
I have always found Otterbox kinda overrated till i was given one.. and i have to say the build quality is great... My quick review
So this is an absolute copy of UAG:
http://www.amazon.com/Maxboost-Sams...cp_4_YCFJ?ie=UTF8&refRID=17JMH36YYW3TVP5SYCFJ
Since i've really had dilemmas before buying my UAG since it's expensive I thought people would want to know.
This one is cheaper, obviously not as good but for the price it's pretty good.
In an attempt to find a case which would offer me satisfactory protection yet remain at an affordable price, I happened to come across this case from Maxboost. I have a general distaste for protective cases that cost more than they’re worth so the Maxboost was a welcome alternative.
I received the Maxboost case quickly upon ordering it. The looks of the case are nothing to write home about. It’s black, plastic, and has a geometric design on the back with PROTAK written in bold letters across the back face.
The plastic offers a slight bend to it which distinguishes itself from its cheap counter parts, which usually are a hard, brittle plastic. The case almost had a type of rubberized feel to it. This case also seemed to add a little bit more substance to the phone which was nice. It made the phone easier to hold in my hands.
The cutting was well done. All of the ports are easily accessible. Also there is a slight raised lip which protects the phone from drops face down to protect the screen.
I did find that the molding of the plastic especially around the tops and bottoms of the case were not done very well. It seemed like the case was put together in haste.
Overall, I think that Maxboost has a great concept here. I just wish they would take more time to make the molding of the plastic a bit better. I think this would help with the overall look.
If you’re looking for a case that will be able to protect your SIV for a great cost than this is the case for you, otherwise look to spend a little more.

Here is another one like the UAG case for about half the price. I have no complaints, pretty good for the price.
Correction: Not half the price, looks like UAG has reduced their price. UAG: $22.60 Obliq: $14.99

When I started using this device, I held it in a Cimo Grip TPU casing basically from day one, and while it doesn't look that great, it does add some badly needed grip on the edges. The other day, I had to remove the sim card, which required taking the TPU casing off, and while doing so, I realized that the Pure Edition looks a lot better without it. From here, I got to thinking - is this casing really necessary?
To answer that question, I set out on a seven day journey of daily life to find out by using the Moto X Pure Edition with no casing at all whatsoever. What I found is that it actually is somewhat functional without the TPU, (at least more so than other phones) but with some caveats. For propping/leaning the device up against plates and dishes for consuming multimedia in the kitchen, the rubber backing material actually offers just enough grip for this to work, as long as the angle is far enough back (too step up-and-down, and it'll slide down a bit). Beyond that, it also works pretty well for operating the device in one hand while sitting, standing, or walking around. In fact, the only situations that left me wishing for the TPU were when the device needed to be propped up at a steeper angle or when I was holding it by only the slick metal edges to take pictures or watch videos laying down. Also, the buttons are far too easy to activate accidentally.
So, after this strange experiment, will I go back to using the TPU? Probably. But maybe not all the time. The Pure Edition is actually more grippable than I originally gave it credit for. Also, I don't have to contend with the massive lip on the left and right edges of the screen that make it difficult to make selections there. I'm not sure how casings affect heat dissipation or wireless reception, but that could potentially be another reason to scale back on those types of accessories. I have considered switching to one of those "bumper" frame-only casings, (such as the Case-Mate Tough Frame) which solves the grip problem on the perimeter of the device while still leaving the back exposed, but I can't seem to be able to find one of those to purchase anywhere. Does anybody have any thoughts on those or know where to find one?
With that, what does everyone else think? Do you use your Pure Edition "naked" or do you use some kind of casing or bumper? If you do use casing, would you consider trying the 7-day Naked Phone Challenge?

I just wanna warn that you should be extra careful with a naked MXPE
it has a very beautiful design and the material is fantastic, no doubt in that. but when i got my mxpe last year, i was using it without any protection, not even the provided bumper (as i always prefer my phones)
one week later i was sitting on the ground with my phone in my pocket, as i stood up, it dropped down from a height of no more than 20cm, and the screen shattered as it fell down on its metal side
since then ive been using bumpers with mxpe, it's a delicate phone
I like my moto x the way I like my women. NAKED!!
I used the original bumper until it broke and I've been naked ever since.
good luck when your glass gets broken
While I like the phone and how it handles naked, I just don't trust it taking a fall off any height without a case. I still have the original bumper case but have never used it because it is seemingly made with brittle plastic. Of course I opted for the plain silicone backing so I really don't have any special back to show off. I'm more interested in OS function over cosmetic visibility so while the phone feels nice naked, I prefer not to have to replace the screen due to an accident.
Naked Phone Challenge 2017 Conclusion
Thanks for the thoughts everybody. After my week-long excursion of using the Pure Edition without "protection ," I went back to the Cimo TPU, but also kept my eyes open for alternatives. I was really hoping to find a "bumper" style TPU, like the Case-Mate Tough Frame, but was unable to locate one anywhere. This transparent TPU found on eBay seems to be the next best thing. It's much thinner than the Cimo and also doesn't have such a massive lip up on the edges of the screen, which makes it great for use without a screen protector. My only complaints are that the camera hole isn't perfectly lined up vertically and that it's really easy to see any dust that gets trapped.
Still, it provides the grip I need along with a pleasing aesthetic without making the phone any bigger than it needs to be, so I think this might just be a good compromise. Time will tell if it stays clear or becomes yellow.
For about a year, I kept my Moto X Style completely caseless. I dropped it several times too, and even though it looks a bit banged up and scratched on the edges, the rest of the phone and screen are fine. I just got a TPU case for it recently because I didn't want to push my luck. I do prefer it naked though
i never use screen protector or case

Same here .. I have case I use occasionally.
Been using the phone naked for over 1.5 years. What's the use of having a good looking phone just to cover it up with some ugly case. People need to be careful when handling phones as they are so fragile.
Conspiracy theory...

That's a good point. The number of people who break their phones, even these modern ultra-durable machines, is absolutely staggering. If they can't hold on to them, then a grippy TPU is essential. Or perhaps we've just uncovered the conspiracy behind the poor grip inherent in so many newer devices that still manage to garner praise from both the pundits and the peanut gallery.
naked from day one...
I used that bumper initially for a week and then threw it away. Since then its all naked and survived a few drops.
Using a phone naked is a way of paying respect to whoever designed it. What's the point of somebody designing a phone if its design will get covered by an ugly case?
Plus, Motorola thought about providing a bumper plastic protector -- it really worked for a while, until it broke apart.
One a jerk side note: people who cannot take care of something expensive should not spend money on that expensive thing. I always laugh at people who carry their iPhones with ugly cases; they don't deserve it due to their lack of attention.
1) Moto X pure as my main driver: everything stock
2) second-hand OnePlus 2 (PureNexus) as a backup
3) Moto 2015; later gifted to my father.

While I can see your point, I can also see the other side of the fence. I didn't buy this phone because of the physical aesthetics, buy rather for the specs at the price range offered. I didn't spend extra money for the wood or leather backing. And given that accidents can happen, i have a protective case. And there were bumper cases at one point which allowed for the looks of the phone to show through to some degree while offering protection.
Fair points

I agree with that as well to some degree, but more so for people who actually break their devices as a direct result of carelessness. As far as I'm concerned, they (in some ways) deserve a broken phone to help reinforce that lesson.

This is also fair. I too have been looking for the elusive CaseMate Tough Frame, (the only grippy "bumper" available for the Pure Edition as far as I know) and nobody seems to have it in stock anymore. These days, I rotate between the black Cimo Grip TPU, the eBay Special transparent grip TPU, and nothing at all. Two of those let the aesthetic of the device shine through, but the very act of switching seems to freshen things up enough to keep the phone interesting.
totally understood points.
On a side note: Lenovo is destroying Motorola inside-out :'(
I prefer a quicksand finish back case (for the extra grip only) .
I suppose I should have done some more research before buying this phone, but I can't find the protective case in stock anywhere. Makes since with this being an old phone. Nevertheless does anyone know where I can find this case, or does anyone have a blueprint for a 3d printed case
I just ordered this case
Should be arriving in a week or so. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
So Did you ever get the case and how did it work out

Sorry for super duper late response lol. It was pretty fragile. Not a very flattering look with the case. I'm not an expert with 3d printing so perhaps there's a way to streamline the design a bit more. I ended up just applying a skinomi full body skin on mine, combined with a fabric pouch.

Looks like the seller is from Russia though. Plus I'm sure as hell not buying a case for that much. It's basically half of the price of the phone itself.
