Did you modify anything on /system or any other partition other than /data?
If not, flash back stock recovery and see if it wants to install OTA.
Or you could try flashing the full firmware using Firmware Finder.
To get recovery, download your firmware from http://hwmt.ru/hwmtsite/firmware-database
Extract the zip.
Download Huawei Update Extractor.
Open update.app in HUE.
Right click on Recovery and extract.
Flash using fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Extract the one named Recovery. Not recovery2.
It should extract as RECOVERY.IMG. Right click on Recovery in HUE and select Extract Selected.
And question, SuperRoot or SuperSu?

are you on stock kernel as well?
that was my issue - was stock rom, rooted, cwm and marmite kernel
had to flash back the stock kernel via fastboot and then apply the OTA via cwm
cheers

do you have some other mods on your system (like face unlock, galaxy nexus sounds as described in the ROM thread you mentioned)?
did you try to fix permissions in cwm and give it another shot?
did you try to wipe cache and dalvik before flashing (that's even recomended from some devs)
The OTA is for JB JRO03E only (not for JRO03L)
Another possibility would be to flash the 4.1.2 factory image, but you will loose everything (it's a full wipe!)
For OTA you should be on stock recovery. Flash back stock recovery with fastboot (take recovery from stock image from Google).

You just need to flash the stock recovery, not the whole image...
Download a stock image:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1572307
Let's say I download JZO54K Android 4.1.2
You should end up with a .tgz file. Extract it. (soju-jzo54k-factory-36602333.tgz)
You should have a .tar file. Extract it. (soju-jzo54k-factory-36602333.tar)
Then you should have a folder, in that folder there will be a few files including a .zip file, extract it (image-soju-jzo54k.zip)
From the files you just extracted, you should have a recovery.img file.
Using fastboot, you flash this recovery.img file to the recovery partition, and voilà, you have stock recovery.

Here is a guide for how to setup ADB http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-set-up-android-adb-and-fastboot-on-windows-tutorial/ which is the hardest part for most users imo. The flashing is as @jd1639 says.
Is there anyway of flash a future offical firmware update (4.4.1 for example) with the twrp in the same way that a custom rom? Is there any official web where download the official firmware?

Not the official Google image as it will not install on a modified system, a modded one might be possible. But whats the point, might as well have a deodexed custom rom then.

1. Setup adb if you haven`t, see for the link my previous post above for how to
2. Download factory image from here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
3. Extract the downloaded image with 7-zip and then extract image-hammerhead-krt16m once and in the folder you find the recovery.img file
4. Flash that file in fastboot with the command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and after that type fastboot erase cache and reboot. That`s it.

[OTA] hTC_Asia_WWE_4.20.707.6-3.63.707.3

Hi everybody,
here is the official OTA files from HTC, for PN71400, CID HTC__044, LTE version。 hope it be helpful
NOTICE:This is not a flashable file, you need to install it using the official recovery
Here is the guide to instal the OTA file:
1. Copy OTA file to SDCARD
2. Boot to Stock recovery and once at the triangle, press volume up + power for about 3 seconds and then release, then you will need to wait for a few seconds to get the blue recovery menu. Then select ‘install from internal memory’ (or something like that) and find the file like you would in CWM
Update should install and your firmware and software should both match the version of the OTA Update.
Also a video to show you the whole process, HOWEVER, it is in Chinese, but it can still help you understand the method mentioned above.

fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip <twrpfilename.zip>

go to recovery from the menu and now you should have the TWRP installed.
go to advanced and then select sideload...
from the command prompt type: adb sideload <romname.zip>

for flashing FW, you can check sneakyghost thread and run the FUU

Getting Back to Stock after Using RR N

Hey guys... I want some guide for getting back to stock from RR rom... Help will be appreciated
You don't have a TWRP backup? If not, you can choose between using dload method to flash update.app all in once, or manually flash recovery.img, vendor.img and boot.img from a stock firmware by adb fastboot and perform a factory reset (all files that you can extract from a package using Huawei Extractor)

Surely faster than flashing partitions one by one manually
Or you can use erecovery method.

You can boot to erecovery by powering off your phone, then power it on again. Once you see the bootloader warning, press and hold the volume up button. It should take you to erecovery. You can select the first option there and it will download and flash the latest firmware.

I think I can work with all. I've already used dload to upgrade my device.
I've ADB installed on my laptop and have also used some commands adb mod and fastboot mod.
I can also root my device and use TWRP to flash any thing, my only concern is, which way should I choose.

from a custom ROM of nougat.. to a stock ROM nougat.. you need adb and fastboot..
Tools:
1. Huawei update extractor tool (can easily download it by googling.. if need help i can help u further)
2. Extract (simple extract) update.app from the dload folder of a stock recovery to your PC.
3. open the huawei extractor tool and choose the path where you placed update.app in your PC .
4. now Extract system.img and boot.img from update.app

Or a more simple way to restore is to restore the TWRP backup. We always recommend to have a backup before doing anything critical on phone but still many mess around.

Exactly mate, the best is to always keep at least a couple of backups, in case something could go wrong while reflashing 1st one

But root isn't a must, an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery could be enough!

If you still can access TWRP you could try this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73556776&postcount=24
At oeminfo.bin part, I guess you need to restore oeminfo for your model.
If not you could try just a factory reset.

If you can enter TWRP you should be able to, you could at least do a stock install with HWOTA.

I can in a bit. Making dinner
I'll just make a flashable zip that will do everything.
And its not much. You'll just have to place update files on external sdcard (I hope you have one ) in sdcard:/hwota/.
And rename them update.zip, update_all_hw.zip and update_data_public.zip. Just like the hwota method except you get no bat file.

Ok. https://mega.nz/#!0apzTBTR!wF1mvQMAXu279ewTSVL4Dcbdx-D625tejm3x82kCK50
Download firmware files, update.zip rename the other 2 to update_all_hw.zip and update_data_public.zip.
make a new folder on your external SDcard named HWOTA (/external_sdcard/HWOTA/)
Place those 3 files there. Then extract the zip above to that folder. All files should be in /external_sdcard/HWOTA/, no sub-folders.
Flash /external_sdcard/HWOTA/HWOTA.zip. Device should reboot and install your firmware.

probably no problem... You'd use the same files when installing Oreo.
I would probably install Nougat first though and enable OEM unlocking. But that's me.

Which twrp are you using?
Did you try the 0.7 by Pretoriano80 in Mate 10 dev section?
Though you would need to hit the toggle.
I guess you could flash a stock rom using HWOTA8 and select Lock in the repack script. If you have rebranded using FunkyHuawei you won't be able to unlock though as it changes your imei in Fastboot, and your old unlock code becomes invalid.

I am using that twrp, but i had wiped system trying to go treble, which i had already done in the past.
However, i didn't realize (or know, for that matter) that frp had locked

Can you check if adb is running?
Boot to twrp and 'adb devices' from a command prompt
