Since the galaxy s6 edge has the exynos 7420 cpu does that mean international roms will work on US carriers? just have to change the APNs?

I have been wondering the same thing. Have you gotten any further with this?
I'm in South America and would like to flash an INT ROM hoping to get LTE working here. LTE Band where I am right now is 1900 mhz. Would flashing an INT ROM "unlock" the phone for that? Are there other "consequences" that one should be aware of when flashing an official International ROM? Any comment on this is appreciated :good:

no i haven't found any information on it sadly :/
Im searching information about too. I tried install some 925F roms then flash 925p kernels but no luck. GPS not working, data/voice not working, even no mobile operator setting in setup.
You would need more than just download and flash!!! You need to port libs, xmls, framework, apps etc to make it compatible with Sprint
Anyway of getting a sprint compatability zip?

Thanks for the info. In my case I don't need to make it compatible with Sprint since I'm in South America. Any suggestions on how to flash an official International G925 Rom?
I think that will happens only when somebody write unified kernel for F/I/*/*/*/and P version of this phone. I researched this and found that noone from kernel makers want not do this. In nearby thread one programmer offer to try modified bootloader for 925p (to be able rollback to 5.0.2). He can't even find testers(. No one want brick their phones.

Not true..... People have been testing bootloaders. Still more work done to be done to it. There have been about 5 testers

S6 G920F roms on S6 G920P?
Dear users
I would like to have S6 International roms on my S6 Sprint but I can't,
is there a compatibility for sprint file to fix the other touch screen and other processor (exynos and snapdragon)?
Please, can anyone reply if you know it?
PS: Sorry for my English, it's not good.
So I've seen that it's possible to flash the US firmware between the carrier firmware and US international firmware (U). I'm wondering how that is possible since there were problems with the S6 international variants flashing US carrier firmware onto the phones. Does the U use the Snapdragon processor and that's what allows it to be flashed?
The reason I ask is because I know someone with the S6 international (G920I) on T-mobile and wishes to enable WiFi Calling but they don't have that option. I know that this isn't the S6 forum but I noticed people flashing U firmware onto their carrier branded phones and vise versa and figured that those who figured it out would have some understanding as to how it works. I just want to expand my knowledge of why he can't seem to find a solution even though there seems to be some compatibility there.
Thanks for the replies.

Well, it could be possible.. But since this is the forum for the international version of the s7, I think you might have better luck asking that same at the US s7 forums.

Nope, this is only for the international version. For the US version there are four different forums, for all of the carriers. Here's a link to the T-mobile forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s7
Does anyone know of a stock firmware version for the sm-g930u thats floating around anywhere? I'm looking to flash it on my Verizon variant and get rid of all of the turdware. I've googled high and low with no results. I know there's a version floating around for the S7 Edge.
Thanks!

Hi
i could not confirm it...but if i had to guess XAA or TMK.......
Hi Were you able to flash your phone successfully, I want to flash my verizon variant to the career free version but not sure which framework to download.
I've looked through threads of people doing the reverse of this. It's been a few years since I've had an android and was running nexus devices then. What's the process to flash an unlocked firmware on an AT&T locked 968U to the 968U1 firmware (assuming there aren't issues doing it)?
Are there any other pitfalls I need to be aware of prior to doing it other than the wifi calling?
If this is already posted somewhere else, please feel free to point me there. I didn't see any info about going from a carrier locked 968U to unlocked firmware.
Thanks in advance.

I just did this today went from TMB locked one to unlocked (For a family member) mine is unlocked. All went well no problems at all. Just download the U1 Firmware you want to flash and for CSC use home_csc (In ODin) so you can keep your data and probably the wifi calling feature too ( i did that all features are intact). Use the Odin and firmware from Ota and non Ota thread . Enjoy

What did you gain that made it worth it for you? Also, I'm on a Locked ATT/Firstnet Ultra and am wondering if flashing to an Unlocked Firmware would give me more control of my device.

If your on FirstNet I recommend that you stay on ATT branded software, I'm not sure if band 14 will work properly for you if you are on unlocked software. Thank you for your service!

You can get VoLTE back, but yeah, WiFi calling is not gonna happen.

The thread is for T-Mobile, but most of it works with AT&T devices as well.

I flashed the U1 firmware (ATJ3) onto my AT&T Note Ultra, then flashed the Home CSC from the AT&T U firmware. I have VoLTE and WiFi calling.
Help!
Hello all, I have a Note 20 Ultra 5g that is unlocked and I'm looking to flash the original ATT firmware for this device.
Having this unlocked version on Firstnet has been nothing but problems and I don't have access to band 14 or wifi calling.
I see this thread is a little old but if anyone could help me out or send me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!
I have rooted some of my older phones several several years ago so I think I could pick this back up pretty quickly. I know over the years things seem to get easier and have probably changed quite a bit since I've last done something like this.
Thanks in advance!

My comment was made before we were able to change IMS settings directly.
You can get it all now. VoLTE, WiFI Calling, RCS, Video calling...

AT&T hasn't released any "official" firmware for the Note 20 series.
Since Samsung firmware is multi CSC, just flash any firmware with the same build number as the AT&T variant and use your AT&T SIM card.
Go to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/ota-and-non-ota-firmware-for-n986u-and-n986u1.4143833/
Make sure you know what device you have, U or U1. Then grab the appropriate version.
Fir AT&T U devices, N986USQU2DUCA or N986USQU2DUCA will work.
For AT&T U1 devices, N986U1UEU2DUCB is the most recent version.

Yes you can, please look for instructions I have posted instruction on this device forum to go from U to U1 and vice versa
I have a T-Mobile S22 Ultra that I have unlocked, I flashed the T-Mobile variant unlocked firmware on it to get rid of the T-Mobile bloat and splash screen.
I've since switched to Verizon, I haven't changed the firmware. The phone barely gets 5g anywhere and 4g barely works, feels like running on 2g. I am in an area where I have towers very close by for all carriers and this shouldn't be an issue.
We've only been on Verizon a few months and they've screwed up so much, like our billing and so I'm. So we're actually going to switch again to at&t, since it's the only thing that comes in up north where we travel. Would flashing an at&t firmware help with those types of things?
Yes.

Different providers use different 5G bands, which is likely why Verizon's 5G isn't working for you on T-mobile firmware. You might have the same problem with AT&T if you don't use At&T firmware.
You are correct that flashing the carrier's firmware will fix your 5G, and that is the simplest solution. You can simply flash Verizon firmware and it should fix 5G for Verizon network. Or flash AT&T firmware if you're using AT&T network.
If you don't want to flash another firmware, you can also unlock all bands to fix 5G on your current firmware by following the guide that @Ramsi Hartmann mentioned.

Call Verizon and have them do a reprovison of the phone.. I had this issue when switching from Sprint to T-Mobile, when Sprint was around.. I had terrible cell, and data service in areas where I should not have.. After it was done everything went smooth not a single issue since.
