Front facing camera don't work... - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello to all,
having brought my s7 edge in assistance now I find myself with another problem. The front camera is not working, but when I go to the hardware menu check * # 0 * # work, so when I enter the camera app from the app or any other app only works the back room and when I make a change to make "selfie" not work out the message "camera error" ...
For now I tried:
1. I deleted the cache and data of the app Room
2. hard reset with a full wipe
3. I initialized the phone with samsung reinstalling switch all over again
what else could I do? I have to return it to service?
Thank you

Help my camera isn't starting anymore!

I'd tryied to hold camera button and from programs menu but both wont work. What can I do? Please can someone help me out?
First off try a soft reset, poke the stylus in the reset hole for a second or two, you won't loose any information or applications trying this, switch the unit back on and try again from the hardware button and/ or the Start/ Programs/ Camera icon
If the above didn't fix it try a hard reset, this will wipe the device back to the same configuration it was when you got it - you WILL LOOSE data doing this - Mike
Thanks for the rep. but,
I did hard reset and it still wont start. AND NOW the camera icon isn't even in the program folder anymore?! help!
Please, anybody?

This is NOT possible if you hardreset. Hardreset again and try. If it still doesnt work, your unit is most probably defective and you'll have to exchange/send in for repair it.
Just to be sure: You use the erase memory tool in the control panel and had to enter "1234" and then click yes, right?
Yes, I used the erase memory tool
I have itself problem, the reset (soft) don't resolve. Sometimes the camera starting, but frequently NO.
Sorry for my english.
i had the same problem ad now its suddenly working
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309967

Same problem
I have the same problem
I'm Trying yet to solve
Looking at the camera launching process, I've found a link like:
_camera.lnk
that contains:
21#"\Windows\Camera.exe" ?CameraRc_Grey.dll,-1106
any idea if that is normal content, looks curious for a link especially the interrogation point mark?
What about the -1106 figure ?
Is it possible that this link being corrupted ?
If yes how to modifiy it, seems a ROM file
Any help welcomed
same problem here,
sometimes cam will work but it to often will not. :/
sure ift the cam even dont in factory default config (hard reset) it is broken.
I got longest working duration in factory default, approx one to two weeks.
using third party binaries the failure appears randomly.
Im pretty sure this is a software issue, else a soft rest wont fix it, eh ?!
workaround:
one but very poor solution is, once the cam starts, _never_ quit it, just minimize.
yep, I know ... but the only way I found atm.
Same problem
I have got no news about cam.
I called htc support, they told me to install a fix for camera that I found in htc e-club.
But that fix is not for our problems, is for camera quality.
I installed it but the problem still remain.
Sometimes it goes, sometimes no...

same problem here. thank you for HTC reply
A solution is to take the pda off without the battery for some minutes...
After that the cam works...
But for also some time... then It goes down again...
I've been having the same problems with the camera.
"Camera" doesn't appear in Programs but "Camera album" does.
When i use file explorer to go to the .exe file and i tap it, nothing happens.
EDIT: i've just used file explorer to go to the windows directory en what do I see: now i have two camera executables (but not one of them reacts)
In file explorer i see this:
Camera 11/12/07 733K
camera.exe.0409.mui 11/12/07 28,9K
camera 11/12/07 35,2K (with Opera icon, i think it's the help file)
camera 18/06/07 35B
CameraRc_Grey.dll 11/12/07 398K
I've never seen the last two files
Hello
i´ve got this Problem nearly three weeks. I´ve installed a new rom and Nadavi camera. Nothing turn the Camera Problem. Sometimes it works sometimes not. I´ve got the idea that the Software that is installed on the device cause the Problem. When i want to send a mms from the camera the camera strikes after that. When i used Mobile Navigator 5.0 the Camera strike again.
I don´t have an exactly answer for the Problem but i´m pissed of!!!! HTC can´t help already

P.S. hope you understand my bad english
I sent the pda to htc support...
I have to call them on 15th june.
When I'll have news I will tell you

Galaxy Note 2 sending sms to unknown number

Hello all,
First of all I hope that I've posted this in the right place; if not please feel free to let me know/move the post.
My Note 2 (SGH-I317M, running stock KitKat, no root) has begun sending sms messages a few times a week to a short code number (4679). The messages state "LOOKUP_ID=" followed by a string of nunbers, different nunbers each message. It sends these messages independently.
I phoned my carrier (Bell Mobility in Canada) to ensure that I'm not being charged for any premium text messages (I'm not). Incidentally, tech support could not give any input as to what's causing it.
It seems like I must have some sort of virus that is sending sms messages not to charge for a premium service, but to mine/send data from my device (much worse IMO.)
I'm hoping someone can help me stop it. I did a full factory reset, and backed up and formatted my SD card. I then put some files back on the card (all media I believe, though I didn't comb the files meticulously.) The next day, still sending the messages
My next step will be to scrap and replace all of my media and ensure that there's nothing on the card itself. Barring that and another full wipe, I can't think of what else to do.
Any suggestions or thoughts?

antivirus?
On my phone McAfee (installed as standard bloatware) was sending weekly sms to an USA number for verification and setting purposes (obviously these sms were charged as international off my account). So, inmediately deleted McAfee.
Maybe you have something like that in your standard bloatware too?
Probably its the Mobile Tracker Service of samsung, meant to remotely locate and control your phone if stolen. Turn it off in security settings and root your phone and freeze the mobile tracker app(if exists)

Wipe ROM through recovery
Reboot Phone >> Hold : Vol-Down + Home-Key + Power-Btn
then phone will boot into recovery
if u r familiar with adb you can turn on debug on dev option and use this command to boot into recovery;
Code:
adb reboot recovery
1.
then you can see options for wiping
this will wipe your internal memory
then wipe your ext memory card with PC (with micro-sdCard adapter and etc)
Then check if problem remains or not. if problem remains you should prepare ur phone to get some info from logs.
2.
If you have time you can do this;
Code:
Setting > Apps > All >> Then Check All Apps with SEND_SMS permission (click on app scroll down to list of permissions)
then you will be able to find If a malware got this permission
(an app you don't know it and it s not samsung system app)
3.
easiest way is to take it to official service center
:good:

I'm also with bell and just noticed my HTC M8 has done this as well. Also to the same number; 4679. I have f-secure AV installed and it didn't find anything.
My two most recent installs are Beats Music and the TD bank app.
Did you ever find out what was causing it?
Edit: quoted the wrong guy, and also discovered it happens with I click on "mobile payment" in the TD bank app.

[Q] Honor 6+ unable to save images

Hi
I am using honor 6+, for past couple of days I've been observing the stock camera app is not able to save images into the phone memory. I have tried clearing the cache of the camera app and of the gallery but nothing is working.
Please tell me what's needs to be done. I bought this phone mainly for its camera and now that only is now working properly.
Maybe the camera setting is set to save to sdcard, when you don't have one inserted?

I have double checked it. It's selected as internal storage. Problem mainly occurs while taking pictures in wide aperture mode. Photo is clicked from the camera app. But when it check in the gallery. It's never there.
Hmm strange. If you haven't got too much data maybe a quick factory reset?

OK. I can take backup of data. But what about the apps? They will all be gone and I have to download it one by one..
Any way that apps can download itself after the reset..?
I have tried resetting the phone but the issue is still there. Please help me out here.
I'm facing the same problem

Did you got it solved?? I am still having the issue.
Wont save
Same here I cannot get the camera to save Wide Aperture photos anywhere, on phone or SD card.
Don't know what's wrong, tried deleting cash, force stopping the camera, resetting the phone after reset defaults, still wont play ball.
I deleted all photos and also removed SD card and still no luck....all I can do now is factory reset the phone.
Update.....found the problem.....didn't need to reset the phone....Clean Master was stopping the phone save the Wide aperture photo...uninstalled it and we are saving again.
Thanks.. You are a saviour...!

Thanks JohnnyHuAWEI .... I was about to go to the service centre for this... Thanks a lot mate...
Sorry to update an old thread but where would I find Clean Master on a Honor 7 as my camera "takes" a picture but doesn't store it anywhere, internal memory or SD card? Thanks.

Could be a physical connection issue between the camera module and the board, but check other things first, such as removing the SD card, trying it, re-inserting it and trying again also put "Camera access failed" into our search box, there are a lot of threads about this, not just for your phone model but others. A hard reset can also be tried, but you'll lose saved data on the phone.
In the end if you conclude it must be a physical connection issue, you can try tapping around the camera but don't be too rough. Otherwise, after trying a hard reset then you'll likely need a repair shop if your not good/experienced with disassembly.

Samsung doesnt detect external device

So here is what happened:
1. I bought an external micro-usb camera for sgs7, and used CameraFi app to handle otg.
2. The camera was detected, and worked, but for irrelevant reasons, I decided not to allow this app an automatic detection of devices. ( dont remember the option, though it was provided by system, not an app).
3. now App does not recognize external camera, and I dont know how to go back to the point where it did. installing and uninstalling does'nt do a job.
any ideas / questions?
