[REQUEST] [PORT] AOSP 7.1.1 Launcher for Marshmallow - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can someone port AOSP 7.1.1 Launcher to Marshmallow?
I know about Pixel Launcher existence, but I don't want the Google App and I don't like the limits of the Non-Prime third parties Launchers (Nova, Action, etc...).
Also I've related question: Has AOSP 7.1.1 Launcher the "Frost Dock"? Even as Non-system App?

"Frost dock" is only for nougat, no way to get it on marshamllow withouth custom launcher like nova apex etc. Download Pixel launcher and unistall google app. should work

It's not because of API Level, but rather because the apk doesn't seem to have a classes.dex inside (meaning it's odexed). The launcher itself supports marshmallow.

So? What can I do?
A few time ago I tried with this tool. I tried to install the new apk in another device, but the install process fails.

You can't deodex a single APK, you can only deodex ROMs as a whole.
The easiest thing to do is to just get another APK from a deodexed ROM. Any aosp ROM should do, ik CypherOS is one ROM that includes plain Launcher3 (however, they rebrand it to Luna, for whatever reason)

I thought that ROM was deodexed... Well guess you should try another ROM then.
Also, just curious, how are you extracting these APKs exactly?

First I unzip the ROM archive with 7-zip
Then I use this tool to convert the system image files from sparse to raw. It requires Python, but I prefer the portable version. I copy the sdat2img.py file in the extracted ROM directory and I execute this command in it:
Code:
P:\ath\Python-Portable.exe sdat2img.py system.transfer.list system.new.dat system.img
Then I use this other tool to explore the just created system.img file (I don't know why, but sometimes 7-zip fails to extract the file from img files).

I'm sorry, I misunderstand what you exactly mean; I thinked that you mean inside the app directory, that not contains the classes.dex file.
Then I reread your post and I understand: you mean inside the apk file, and checking, I noticed that it contains the classes.dex file.

Well, you are doing it right & the APK is deodexed... I don't see what is wrong with the Luna APK here. Ah well, try another ROM then.

I tried SlimLauncher and it works, but I think it's buggy: also disabling SearchBar in settings, it remains.
Additionally, the Dock isn't "frosted".

Just try an APK from a pure AOSP ROM this time, see if that works.

No sería mejor crear un .zip flasheable de la carpeta donde se encuentra el apk? Se supone deberían estar el apk y el .odex

I'm curious, maybe someone can help. within the Froyo 2.2 build there's an email app, can this app be manipulated to install in the 2.1 build?
I just don't know so I'm asking.
This all depends on what framework and minimum sdk the app was built for.

this is not 100% complete. while all the apps are there (it's basically a dump of the /system folder), there seems to be a bunch of missing stuff. send on over the real rom file, and I'll be happy to pick at it.
at the moment are the only original files and could get looks that much time looking at state unless you have better luck just a Chinese user and managed porting the 3d launcher was not necessary to install all the Rom only launcher with icons and all waiting and I put the link of the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DDBR2X7G5k&feature=youtube_gdata_player

this looks promising. i'll try to get on it with what you have provided so far from the system.rar file, and hopefully will have something working soon. i like the launcher and widgets a lot, but the sh06d specs are terrible.

[MOD] ALL APPS in multiwindow

HI, here is the mod to have all apps in multiwindow bar!
Based on N9005 with Omega v.1 and working good. Need testing for other versions...
Just replace Service.jar in /system/framework and FlashbarService.apk in /system/app. Save the original ones just in case!
Reboot and enjoy!
Note: there is a little bug when adding some apps it's another that be added in bar but not a big problem.
I can't make it work. On my stock firmware. I try to replace both of the files. But the multi window option not appear. And also it make my pen-window broken. I can't create any pen window anymore.
Thanks
tnx for the effort but it doesn't work...u can't even open the multi bar.
good I kept a copy of the original files

Yes you need to be deodexed...
I'm currently using this app from the play store with success:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bjbinc.mwmphone
It'll walk you through installing the xposed framework when you first open it, then you can use the app to modify available applications (reboot needed after).

Apk Tool App for Android

I was recently looking for system ui smali mods and I came across this apk tool app and I thought I would share it, I think it works good so far but your working with a smaller screen other wise its really nice
Download: ApkTool v4.7.apk
Update fix for Lollipop Roms :ApkToolUpdate.zip
Instructions :
After you install the apk be sure to go to your Framework apks and hit import framework before you do anything
Also Copy system apks to SD card or you with get decompile errors
If you have problems with decompiling system apps on Lollipop flash update zip that has updated jars
You shouldn't have any problems with kit kat though I believe so no need to flash update.zip
Flash via FlashFire
And Finally Enjoy

First you need to find the name of the package it's conflicting with so I suspect it's conflicting with CMFileManager.
If you have 7zip you can double click on the pixelfy file go to META-INF/com/google/android/ then drag out the updater-script into a folder or your desktop.
Open the updater-script with notepad and then let me know once you have done this.
Which file manager app is it conflicting with?
