Hey, I have a Galaxy S7 SM-G930F. I live in Portugal and a few months ago I rooted and then tried to unroot it but it went wrong and it got softbricked so i had to install a new rom from sammobile, but I installed a rom for my device and country but a random carrier and I still dont have the Android Nougat (my friend has one aswell and it has already updated).
Because my friend already has the update he sent me his rom and i installed it but it shows me the old rom model when i check for updates manually. In odin I only uploaded the AP file, do I need to upload the rest?
Btw how hard is it to hardbrick my s7 and how much to repair it?
Cheers!
Edit:
What does the smart switch icon means on the rom page and the diffrent letters after the name of my carrier like "TCL" "TPH" etc

My carrier is Nos (we already have on sammobile the nougat of the TPH) so..
. I flashed the TPH whitout problem, I had use CSC_HOME file.... it will wipe all you internal data and you have to setup from begin. In the future I will get OTA updates from TPH.

I have this problem too, but let me explain my situation. I have two Galaxy S6s.
1st non-root phone had this issue of GPS not being able to hold on fix. i used many different firmwares ranging from UK, UAE, France and Malaysia OFFICIAL FIRMWARES but they still didn't help iron out the issue. I then used smart switch to restore back to official ROM for my phone (Malaysia). I put the phone into download mode, used Smart Switch PC, selected emergency firmware recovery and installation, input my device number and serial number, then downloaded the ROM back into my phone, then after a week or so, my phone was back to normal (good GPS lock). I suspect it's the Baseband/modem issue (Every country has it's own baseband to work perfectly in)
2nd rooted phone on XstreStoLite V2.2. I realize that this phone also had the problem. but i still cannot fathom what is the problem. Could be the baseband that's not localized. But anyhow i use my non-rooted phone for GPS navigation. Could be you need to use it more often for it to run in first.
I have this problem too did you find a solution? I'm on xtrestolite 2.2 too

i believe the modem and bootloader affects the GPS because it's how your phone connects to the network. I have just tried the COH2 firmware on my non-rooted phone, and the GPS works like a charm!
I will try COH2 but I'm from Portugal and firmware COH2 is France. No problem? Whats your bootloader and modem?

I strongly suggest you wait for the COH2 ROM first, if you still think you GPS antenna has a defect, you can change your rear case at Samsung Service Centre (Which i did with my phone)
Same problem as u. but found solution
Try this out. Stupid as hell but worked for me
I got the same problem but after looking for 5 hours. I just ah what a hell. I removed my aluminium cover. Observe its cut out for the gps antenna and main antenna in the back. And voila. Gps test found 28 sattelites and locked right away. Then put the cover back on. NOTHING. So it seems some covers disturb the antennas. But i still feel its strange as the cut out in back. So perhaps it still disturbs it when something is next to it. Let me know if it worked for u too. To remove your cover. Best regards from sweden.
Hello my friend, I don't have any cover in my phone. Is GPS defect for sure.

I had a free Kenya stock LP rom. I used SpO2 sensor in SHealth with no issues, but after flashing free french XEF 6.0.1 stock rom (no wipes, odin 1 file no pit, no root, dual sim g920FD) everything work fine except SpO2 sensor, on the square inside SHealth app it doesn't give me the "measure" button. When I enter on this it says my device hasn't this sensor...
I found some people have the same issue, but some other people with same XEF update the sensor works fine for them. Really it is very strange.
I am really sure it is not a problem of not doing full wipes, but if so, I would assume to lose the sensor, I definitely won't erase all because rest of apps, battery and everything go perfect...
Maybe if some more people have same issue, we could find any patron to solve it.
Thanks.

I do full wipes but don't go

That's right. O2 measure is not allowed on XEF with its own CSC. I've just flashed newer spanish PHE and O2 measure came back again.

Hi, I'm also on XEF and I tried to flash spanish PHE to have O2 measure as you said but odin flash failed everytime at Hidden.img. Is there something special with spanish PHE rom? Do I have to do something else before flashing it? Is there an other 6.0.1 european rom that I can flash without having this Hidden.img problem and that support O2 measure? Thank you sir

Do I need to check OEM unlocking to flash with Odin from beta Pie ZRLF to CRLI? Or do I loose all my apps and data, even if I flash the HOME_CSC ?
Please advice since I don't want to lose data.

Hello..i bought a s8 plus dual sim from a friend.everything works fine except some samsung apps including the theme and galaxy store..I tried to update OTA buh it doesn't respond..i tried flashing to 9.0 but had a SECURE CHECK FAIL : BOOTLOADER..i cant even identify the right bootloader..iam even confused as to how to get the right rom to flash.
Will be glad if any one can help.
It seems you have a custom binary.
You need to erase all the data from the recovery and then flash an official ROM with Odin on your PC.

Flash the 4 files with the 4 different buttons suggested by Odin corresponding to each file and start the flash once your phone is connected to your PC and in Odin mode. You won't need the last file.

Ok it seems to be linked with the pit file. You normally dont have to flash it because employees do that in factory when your phone is about having a flashed software.
Search on the internet and download SM-G955FD.pit file or download an entire ROM from a downloader. You normally have these 4 files + the .pit file if I remember well...
