I'm a little confused as to how the ROM's for the Xoom family works? It would seem the ROM's for one model will not work with another, but it would also appear there are none available that will run on the MZ617?
Could anyone with a rooted and upgraded MZ617 make some recommendations for a ROM?

Got my xoom about 2 days ago and looking to put the team eos nightly ics rom on it,
However, I dont know what model my xoom is, The box does not really help. And the model number in settings just shows "xoom"
The xoom was bought brand new from America (Im in Australia) and it is the WIFI only version
Also i was wondering the easiest way to root the device?

The Wifi only is MZ604 or sometimes referred to as Wingray. Here is a link to rooting:

the way it seems, The Xoom is much harder to root & install custom roms on than the Optimus 3d, SGS and the SGS2

When i double click on fastboot, It pops up for about a second then goes away?

I just recently bought a xoom and ive been looking around the forums for a while now seeing what is here and that. I have a EU XOOM Wifi only, and i have read on certain tutorials that most of the rooting methods only work for the US models? Are there any ways to root the EU Wifi only model?

Hey man, I have an EU wifi only model and it's totally fine to use the method in this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477024
The thing to be careful with about the EU wifi model is that some of the roms in the android development section (only the stock ICS and some Honeycomb roms) are US wifi only. It'll be clearly stated! All other MZ604 (which are the wifi only models) roms are fine to flash! CM9, EOS, AOKP, I've flashed them all on my EU wifi only model.

Hi all,
I just helped a co-worker root his i497 and now he's asked about increasing performance. Should I be able to flash any of the P5XX roms/kernels on his tablet and then a modem, or will I/he have to find one specifically for the AT&T variant?

You'll have to find one specifically for AT&T. I have the 3113 wifi only and none of the carrier variants will work for it.

I have rooted my Verizon Wireless Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1 MZ617 codename pasteur running 98.8.127.MZ617.Verizon.en.US Jelly Bean Android Version 4.1.2 , I have successfully been able to get bootstrap with CWM installed and working as well as Safestrap 3.12 :fingers-crossed:
But I can't seem to find any ROMs. A few questions I have.
A)anyone have names or links to ROMs I can flash?
B)How about a ZIP flashable ICS leak? Can someone make one plz?
C)BigPart.... Is my understanding an unlocked bootloader is required for this?
D)what if any cross compatible builds are there ? Like can I run a WiFi only ROM for the Motorola XOOM 2 MZ615 ? Or the CDMA 3G MZ608? Or will Xoom 1 Stingray ROMs MZ602/MZ604 work?
Any insight is appreciated. :good: OMW to find out if Sunshine will work to unlock the bootloader.

Hi all,
Dont know if anyone is still reading this forum. But i have a huge problem. I have a EU Xoom with 3G capability, MZ601 is the model number.
Now, the problem for me is that it is unrooted and i can not get apps running on it. It has 4.0.4 currently on it. I know that it is possible to get JB running on the tablet, but can not find any active links to download a build.Thanks to anyone who will respond.
