Just wondering if anyone with an L04 in the US on ATT has gotten the B380 update.
I upgraded from MM's B162 to N's B360 and had a huge standby drain reducing my SoT from 6-7 hours to 2.5 hours.
Rolled back and don't want to upgrade to N unless B380 fixes the standby drain.
Thanks!

Did you do a factory reset after the update? I had the same problem, did a reset and now back to very adequate SOT at max. 7 hours.

Yes, strangely -- not only did I do a factory reset after the B360 update, I also rolled back to B120 and did a factory reset after every update stage through B360, and still had the problem.
Interestingly, my battery life was back up to 6-7 hrs SoT for four days after the second rollback/update, but that went away and returned to 2.5 hours even though I tried resetting again. Don't think I can do a rollback every week though...
So I am still on MM.

For you to get the most out of these stock ROMs you have to flash the update, factory reset then just use the phone for 4/5 days before the phone will learn your usage habits and start to make the most of of your battery life.
Every time I update I reset, for the first few days the battery is all over the place, different every day but then it learns and your battery life will get back to what it should be.
The fact that you say that you keep rolling back and resetting is what is making your battery life bad.
Just the phone a chance to settle and learn.
These Chinese developers are clever.

It is mate yes but I think that we these guys have made and are still developing is so different to what has been done before.
If you look at the AI stuff that they have put on some of there phones that at the mo can only be used in China to be able to see where they are going.
I updated my phone on Monday on Tuesday the battery was all over the place. Yesterday was a little better today is amazing.
I can charge my phone to 100% in the morning and get a full 24 hours of hammering it.
That is good enough for me
I think I'll wait till the next update and try N. If I ever get it on L04. I will bet money, even after letting your phone learn your habits, that M still has superior battery life.

I'm afraid that will be the case, yes. Going from M to N on my old Nexus 6P also dropped battery life pretty noticeably.
I had high hopes for the new deep Doze, but apparently the devs really messed something up.

But in fact, while having the L09 Italian version, I have not received anything. Just like me, many others have reported the total absence B380 update that appears only in the application FF. I begin to think that being passed from MM to Nougat (B360) by Hi-care was a big mistake. Any of you know by chance the release timing ???

Anyone notice a significant drop in battery life in B360? I was quite happy with the SOT on 317 (just about 5h) and ever since I upgraded to 360 it's a drastic drop. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and how I can fix it.
So if you go to battery management, what's using your battery?

These are my latest statistics of N (B360) before rolling back to MM (B162). Something that caught my attention is the average estimates for screen on and screen off time. I got less screen off time with N than with MM but more screen on time. I think my VPN app might be the culprit for the lost of screen off time compared with 18-24hrs I was getting with MM, but can't tell for sure until I replicate the same use under MM.
So if I were to use my phone at the end of the day, after having it on standby at work, I'll probably have 3hrs of SOT before the phone goes into cardiac arrest. But my story is the opposite, I use it a lot at work and stop using it when I'm at home.

Gsam says COMBINED APP CPU. Everything's set up exactly the same as it was on 317. I used to get through the day with my moderate use with ~40% left. Now I have to charge in the afternoon. Bit annoying. Would factory reset help? I never actually did it after upgrading.

I tried the B320 on my L19 for a week and had similar experience to the OP. Rolling back to MM allowed me to skip charging in the afternoon.

A week ago went back to MM (B162) and here are my latest battery stats. Total used time is better in MM than in N without question. So in conclusion, N is less battery efficient than MM. I just hope Huawei has this polished before February's update. Fingers crossed. :fingers-crossed:
First and second screen shots are MM.
Third and fourth are N.

So I actually rolled back my phone to 162, and then used the Charles method to go to 360 again (I previously used the dload method to update). Performed a factory reset after updating this time, and now my battery life is insane! Im at over 4h SOT with 52% battery left currently.
So for people that are experiencing battery drain on 360, perhaps try updating using Charles or officially instead of using dload, and do a factory reset after.

same here with the battery drain. I update with hicare app via officially ota. I'm thinking to rollback to emui 4.1. Android OS is eating my battery on standby

Hello,
I am the new owner of a Honor 6x and the phone is absolutely great but i cannot have a decent sleep. It loses minimum 1% per hour.
This night, from midnight to 6AM, i've went from 54% to 48%, that sounds enormous...
Power saving mode is enable.
Phone has already been resetted.
I also updated last night to nougat.
I am in 3G since 4G is knowing to consume a lot, had this also on my previous phone.
Compsumption Level are Android system 20.85%
Android OS 12.76
Hardware side are Screen 21% and PHone Idle 7%
If i uses the 6x continuesly, i get easily 6SOT i don't know how to avoid loosing so much during sleep.
Thx, i am now performing a new factory reset for Nougat.
Wifi off when screen off is applied
Mobile network have been remained on but i do now change them in 2G.
I close all apps manually before closing screen.
I've tested and lost 1% in one hour with NO data and NO wifi..., the screen has been just very shortly checked 4 times...
I will compare after the reset.
Thanks.
By default, EMUI will kill a lot of background apps during sleep, so you shouldn't experience much battery drain. A factory reset may help you.

This is all because of the Nougat update.
Nougat update is draining battery faster than MM version.
Moreover officially Nougat has not been released for Honor 6X still.
Try to downgrade to MM for better battery.

Well u sound true , OP plz try to enable the option to close the apps automatically when screen off. Wil save much juice
Thanks, i saw everywhere else that closing apps in the background sound a good idea but is in fact asking more juice to the system.
I don't know what to think anymore.
i've did 6h14 SOT with about 55 minutes of gaming, brightness between 15-30 depending if outside or inside.
It seems that making full charging cycles (i've had the phone only since 3 days now ) is helping a bit.
Still, i am very far from getting 10 hours as i have seen in these forums

Do the math. Additional 340 only. 8 hrs, maybe even and a half. You can only do that if you take away the core Android processes, take away cell radio, take away touch screen inputs, and there you go. With 3340mAh you might even reach 24 hrs of display time. I don't care if you don't believe me.

I bought my Pixel in Nov 2016. Battery lasted on average about 1 day & 10-20 minutes based on my personal usage. In the last few weeks, it barely lasts 24 hours. I haven't added any new apps. My battery usage info doesn't show anything unusual or an app consuming a lot of battery. I downloaded GSam Battery Monitor but that doesn't give details on app usage unless you are rooted which I am not.
Have others also experienced poor battery although the phone is not even a year old?
Any ideas on what it can be? I haven't changed my usage either (I only monitor it on weekdays since that usage is basically the same each day).
Just an example here: took off charger 52 mins ago and it's already at 89%.

What software are you running? If you don't get the OTA for 8.0, I'd enroll in the Beta. This will prompt you to get the official release at this time. Once that's installed, I'd Factory Reset data and start from scratch.
Alternatively, you can uninstall apps one by one to see if there's an increase in performance/battery life. Also, maybe try wiping cache to see if that helps.
Yes mine went from 5-6 hours SOT to maybe 3 1/2 to 4. Horrible. I've flashed countless factory images. Never abkr to figure it out.
I wouldn't expect it's related to the age of the device necessarily. I only just got my Pixel a few weeks ago and it averages about 4 hours SOT over 24 hours with little left in the tank. It's got a small battery.
Mine is terrible on Oreo
You have to give the software about 2-3 days to learn your usage so that it can set everything for you, if you just installed Android Oreo, then, it's going to be at least a day or two before your battery corrects it self.
I have been on the Oreo dev preview, back to Nougat, now back on Oreo and the battery life just has gotten to be terrible. Factory wipes every time I load a new version on Android.
I get about 1.5 to 2 hrs SoT in a 12 hour period and it just about is dead. I have surrendered to the fact that I will just never had good battery life as long as I own an Android phone and I charge them any chance I get.

I am still on Android 7.1.2 running the latest update - NHG47Q (I think this is the latest). I have not tried the Oreo beta but would hope the battery life will improve since that is one of the new features.
I have heard that one should factory reset when going to a major update like 8.0. I just hate to reinstall everything (apps & settings) from scratch. (I am not rooted.)

try getting rid of Back up to Google Drive took my SOT from 2hrs to 5 very odd
My typical day used to get 35-40 hours of total time (not SOT) on Nougat and if I used airplane mode at night lasted 2 work days most of the time.
with Oreo Beta3, I am getting 15 hours give or take an hour. Anyone else seeing this ? Oreo Beta2 drained faster than 7.1, but by a relatively small amount.

no difference for me when switching from beta 2 to beta 3
I'm coming from 7.1.1 and yes, standby battery drain is much worse on OB3. I'm seeing a lot of bluetooth_timer wakelocks as one of the culprits.
It does say right on the download page that you will experience battery drain from Bluetooth
I think the battery drain issue was only with the first Oreo build. I haven't had any issues with mine.
I was on OB1 and after I went to OB2 some thing's didn't seem right so I did a factory reset and now on OB3 it's still great.
I've noticed no difference in battery performance at all. I went from 7.1.1 to OB2 to OB3 now. Device is an unlocked model (factory direct) running on Sprint, no root.

So my usage is pretty heavy, but SOT is low, mostly text/email and quick in/out.
Found the culprit. Had moved from Launcher3 to PixelLauncher, that was the hog .. and it showed up as a system consumption. Moved back to Launcher3 and I am back to OB2 levels of drain.
Forgot to mention that I run the Nova launcher with Google feed add-on and I'm a heavy user also
I'm having also a significant battery drain coming from OB2 to OB3. I haven't installed any new apps. What app would you recommend for looking for the culprit? I see everything normal in the Android settings battery monitor.
Yup, my battery life went to crap from ob2 to ob3. I noticed it immediately, i then did a factory reset which fixed the issue for me.
battery got better for me with each beta. now it's better than nougat for me.
Adb log tends to be pretty useful. I have also run top from the adb shell to get the first hint .. and then strategies vary.
Sometimes, it has happened 3 times already, I plug the phone to charge, the screen will say "charging rapidly", the message light will turn yellow. Come to check on the phone 30 minutes later and the phone will be at the same % that I left it before charging it.
Yes I made sure it was plugged and yes it said "charging rapidly". However once it's charged, the battery life in good.
