I have a friend that's looking into buying the Mate 9, but he wants to know if it's hearing aide compatible. I've tried searching online, but haven't seen anything regarding it. Do y'all know if it is or not?

The Huawei Mate 9 is not hearing aid compatible so people with hearing disabilities who wear hearing aids or have a cochlear implant will not be able to handle phone calls with their devices set on the Telecoil mode. For this reason we cannot recommend the Mate 9 to these users. However, they might be able to handle phone calls with their hearing aids on M (microphone) mode, but will hear the ambient noise.

Hi,
I'm finally selling my MDA Pro (eBay item 300008341567 if anyones interested...) and looking for a replacement. To which I'd like to ask if any of you have any knowledge of these phones....
I like the idea of the TV tuner, which the G-Smart has, but can't find anywhere in the UK to get it, does anyone have any opinions on this phone, know where I can get one, or know whether there are any other phones with TV Tuner built in. Also, does this phone have GPS? Some reviews I read say yes, some no. (It's the black one I'm after, not the orange square one.)
The other phone is the Mio A701, purely as it's one of the only WM5 phones I can see that are quite fast and has built in GPS...
Does anyone know of anything else on the market now, or soon, that has a TV Tuner and/or GPS built in, that is a WM5 touch screen, pocket PC phone?
Cheers!!
Hello, i will never recomend you to buy any Gigabyte / i-teq phone before you read all my comments and also from others about this phone at pocketpcdubai.com , then you will know what kind of crap it is and what kind of support you will get, NONE.

What problems did you have with the phone? Software issues, Hardware issues, or both?

Sorry, I know you said comments at pocketpcdubai.com... but I can't get to that site, throws up not found errors
You might want to take a look at ETEN G500 (no tuner but pretty fast and has GPS) also the HP 6900 which has everything except a descent screen.
Any way in my opinion, most phones with GPS today are lacking in other features (usually WiFi) and it's better to get a BT GPS and a good
phone.

I know having 'all in one' device is nice but you always have to settle.

Hi,
I never really had any problems with the Universal, it's a complicated phone so will never run truely perfect. Like most things, you look for a fault, you'll find one...
The only things I could mention that were annoying, is it would sometimes take a while to ring and notify me of incoming calls, even with patches and fixes that others produced.

Thank's for your input!
I know what you mean about the "all in one" but it's just getting to a stage where my belt is starting to wear out with all the extras that I want to carry in my pockets!
I've seen that EOPS SDIO Tuner, but have only been able to find a foreign supplier for them, do you know if there's anywhere in the UK as yet? Think I'd sooner have the GPS onboard, and get a TV Tuner as an extra.
dont pay too much for a SDIO tv tuner here they already set the date to when they stop broadcasting analog tv alltogether
Hi every one.
Here you can read all my bad opinions on it:

Hello
Hi User22.
I was about 98% decided to go in for iteq x bond or gsmart as they hv come officially in India...but I read yr posts at pocketpcdubai and was horrified..though there are not much comments made on the handset, I thought what u hv posted shd be atleast 60% correct and hence decided to keep the Universal..But now there is a new ROM so do u hv any other opinions...?
Yes i have more opinions: Just received a new phone from i-teq, exchanged on warranty, it is working the same very bad way, including the lates rom. Also i allready tried the lates Ubiquio rom without any improvement.
I-teq still not answering any e-mails since 2 month ago to me and others users.
Go for any other company but NOT i-teq / Unitec / Gigabyte ( this one is the real maker but they also don't answer to any one that i know from differents countries).
Hello everybody.*
At first I must say it's nice there is a forum where you can find so much help with a lot of thing regarding phones.*
I hope my English I understandable, even though I'm from Denmark.*
I am the happy owner of an Huawei mate 9 pro. Really a good phone but I got a little disappointed when I upgraded my cars stereo to an pioneer sph-da120.*
I really thought that Huawei was up to date with everybody else on the market when it comes to mirrorlink, but sadly no.*
So my question is after of have tried nearly anything in the range of a rookie in phones firmware.*
Is there anybody out there that have a way to get mirrorlink working on huawei with other apps rooting and so on.*
I saw I an article that Huawei p10 is supporting mirrorlink and also in another that they have joined up with vw in 2016 to give people the option of mirrorlink with new cars, so anybody knows if there's and update on the way or is it a lost cause.*
Best regards
Do you mean MirrorShare? If so it works fine between my Mate 9 and LG WebOS TV.
Sent from my MHA-L29 using XDA Labs
No I mean mirrorlink. Mirrorshare I have and working fine but that requires WiFi and not a lot of cars has this or aftermarket stereos they all use the mirrorlink
Oh I see, my bad.
Sent from my MHA-L29 using XDA Labs
That's okay.
cant you just connect to your car stereo via bluetooth?
Well I can and have. But the whole idea of mirrorlink is to have everything you use on the screen on the stereo. It's a really nice thing.
The next step would to root my p9 pro to use ARU Unchained where you actually get your whole screen with background and icons over so you actually can control nearly everything with out using your phone.
Here in Denmark you will be fined for using your cellphone even for music via Bluetooth if you want another album or so. But not for using your stereo.
So for me mirrorlink is a feature that I really do like to have and I'm sure I'm not the only one
never even heard of that feature, and I have been using cellphones for 20+ years in the usa
Well it's something here there have been a lot about the last few years here. A lot of phones had it but not a lot you could use it for here but now it's really coming through so you can see my disappointment when I discovered a rather expensive phone doesn't have this feature. It's part my own fault because I really got my Eyes on the p9 pro before I bought it and on the other hand I don't understand why the chose not to have it in this phone.
Theres always an uneasy feeling riding along when I have paired the watch to my phone. In regards to chinese involvement im paranoid. I dont like it and inquire for software thats not... leaky.
Long time lurker since my HTC Hero days, this forum has bought much new life into alot of my android phones!
Now we can turn android phones into the 'brains' for a self driving car. The below currently works on two phones, One Plus 3t and Le Eco Pro3 x727. It would be good if we could further abstract to run on other phones.
https://github.com/commaai/openpilot
Openpilot is an open source driver assistance system. Currently, openpilot performs the functions of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automated Lane Centering (ALC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) for a growing variety of supported car makes, models and model years. In addition, while openpilot is engaged, a camera based Driver Monitoring (DM) feature alerts distracted and asleep drivers.
I have recreated their product using a one plus 3t, White Panda and the relevant wiring and 3d Prints. I have had my self driving VW Skoda Octavia 2015 for quite some time now.
The software running on t he OP3T as you guessed is a minified version of Android.
Is anyone here interested in recreating what i have done / would like to help with further dev. There are a few popular forks already on Github, DragonPilot being on of them.
Hey, I am interested in recreating what you've done so far with the oneplus phone and the panda. Do you have your won fork or used one of the already available on GitHub?

Hey mate, any chance to discuss this?
Hi!
First of all, sorry for posting in this thread , but there is no other thread for the Huawei matepad paper.
My question is if there is or will be any custom firmwares for this tablet, because even if its a good e-reader, notetaking device, i don't trust it for handling my private documents, because its Huawei and also it runs Harmony OS.
Maybe my answer comes after 1,5 a month, but I'll give You my 5 cents. Unfortunately, as there is no way to unlock Huawei this days do not count on any custom roming.
It's stupid of them, but sadly that's the way they choose to do it.

I love this device. Got it somewhere in September and have to say it crushes any other eink Android tablets (got few, mostly made by Onyx). It's superresponsive, doesnt lag at all and, with help of Aurora, has access to Play Store and all ebook apps available there.

sorry, bro... but our tablet is dead as a "custom-rom-enabled" device
it works good (yes, with old Android 10 VM and old HMOS 2, but good) without modifications.
I hope our chinese brothers makes HUAWEI to release some sources and some unlock-software that helps us make our device great again!
Price was good, so I've bought it.
If I knew that it will not receive an upgrade to HMOS 3 and not able to unlock and flash some custom rom, I didn't buy it
Are You sure?
On their HOS3 site I see that Paper is included: https://consumer.huawei.com/en/harmonyos-3/
They are still updating other devices and Paper is not the flagship device unfortunately.
And even without HOS3 it's great device. A10 won't be forgotten by Google for few more years, so not a problem for me.
