[Q/A] Anyone Know of Any Up-To-Date Roms? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I've been searching for ROMS that are for the SM-G925P (I have found some but they're not being maintained anymore). There is a specific one I'm looking for, which goes by the following guidelines:
Deodexed for Xposed (Systemless)
Debloated
Multi-User Support
Using Android 6.0.1
Works with a SM-G925P
That's pretty much what I'm looking for in a ROM.. the only one that's pretty close is Renegade HD, but like I said, its not being maintained anymore

I'd say your best bet is AlexisROM, so far its quite good for me, twisted kernel is also great for Android OS drains (If you do get them with this rom which I use to). I dont think most of the good 6.0.1 Roms are being maintained anymore as theyre getting ready for Android N, they're all quite stable though.

Does that rom run on the SM-G925P? I'm really curious since the last time I tried flashing firmware that wasn't compatible with my phone, it COMPLETELY bricked my phone. Even to the point I couldn't get it repaired. I got lucky the fact that it died and decided to start up again.

[Completed] Rooted HUAWEI ASCEND Y220-U10 Custom ROM Compatible?

Hey guys I am fairly new to android and really new to this rooting and custom rom thing and I've been doing my research with what a rooted android w/ custom rom could look like and what it could further do.
I was hoping that my rooted phone is compatible with Custom Roms like Cyanogen Mod, AOKP, etc. Unfortunately my phone isn't listed in any listed devices in the well known Custom Rom Sites but I still proceeded with installing Cyanogen Mod since everyone seems to be using it. I don't even know if there are more of these eye candy useful mods that makes the ios look miserably locked up while hoping at least one of these custom rom is compatible with my crappy awesome phone. But upon installation process of Cyanogen Mod WITHOUT awareness that it really isn't compatible, it stated in that page that I could (STILL)use their Custom Rom at my own risk. Beyond that I stopped the installation process in fear of destroying my phone.
I was wondering whether you guys could enlighten me about the compatibility of Huawei Y220-U10 to Custom Roms. I've seen Huawei Y210's on youtube that's using a custom rom but unfortunately ALL of them who's demonstrating their phones are speaking in Spanish. I also installed ROM Installer but I can't seem to see 'FEATURED'? Maybe because it's the free version?
Now I am willing to take the risk, starting from the bottom meaning derooting my phone, wiping it clean, rerooting it and flashing that Custom Rom but I'm seeking advice from much more experienced users because if you guys tell me that it is a BIG NO NO I guess I'll just have to stick with the Go Launcher and wait until I get a much better, stronger, faster android smartphone which has a friendlier compatibility to everything android. And how come I can't access facebook nor yahoo from any web browser in my phone? is it a virus? Please clarify my theories.
Much Regards, Jom
P.S. Phone is running at 2.3.6 and rooted with Kingo Android ROOT
Hello @Jom Apa Welcome to Android / XDA!
"BIG NO NO!" You can't flash ROMs not made for your device because of the underlying hardware incompatibilities. You might completely kill your phone.
Give me a few minutes while I search for ROMs you can use
UPDATE: Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any custom firmware for your device nor Github entries for the chipset used. Seems you'll either have to stick with stock or create your own custom ROMs there are a lot of support here on XDA, Let the learning begin!
Cheers!

Hi, here on xda we dont compare roms, sorry. its just taboo of the worst kind. Also please post questions in the question and answers portion of the forum, thanks and cheers.
I'll go ahead and reply with respect to the split between KitKat and Lollipop. You'll note a bunch of Lollipop-based ROMs appearing. Some have chosen to flash those, to be on the cutting edge. However, the Xposed Framework - one of the most useful customization tooks in the Android world - has not been updated to work with the "ART" (Android Run Time) and instead is only still compatible with Dalvik-based system. The developer of Xposed has indicated that he may work on updating XPosed at some point, but there is no firm commitment or timeline.
I personally will not be upgrading to Lollipop as I find that the tweaks made available by the Xposed Framework and the plethora of modules built for it, are simply too important me to lose by upgrading to what isn't all that radically different of an Android update.
But to each his own. Thought I'd give you a bit of the background.
P.S. Anything by Santod is quality work (NuSenseSix, UnSenseSix, etc). He really knows Android.
Nothing beats stock as far as stability. For newest, well, the newest official software is stock as well until VZW releases Lollipop.
Sacred cows make extra tasty steaks. That said, I'll make recommendations. I think Fluent is as reliable as the stock 4.4.4 and more so than some of the more radically tweaked 4.4.4 ROMs out there built from non-Verizon sources. NuSense is solid as well, but hasn't been updated in a while, is minimally modified, and is based on the oldest of the lollipop releases. if 4.4.4 is all you want, Clean ROM 3.0 was a solid runner for me.
If you can do your own mods then I would go with Lollipop as you don't need xposed if your looking for stable stick to 4.4.4 for now.. Make sure you upgrade your firmware before if you haven't as you r still on 4.4.2 ROM I'm taking a guess your haven't updated firmware.

What do you mean by doing your own mods? Short of coding them, I'm not sure how one would go about getting Samsung Milk to work, or cleaning up the Notification menu, or a bunch of other things that just aren't commonly built into customized ROMs. If you do know of a way to get such things working in Lollipop, do let me know - I'd then be able to make the switch!

what miui rom is multi language?

i understand there is a site called eu.miui but i see there only the chinese rom...
and whats the diffrent between 6.x rom to 7.x rom
i want miui on my xiaomi mi4c, i already asked for bootloader unlock 5 days ago so i want to get the rom ready for flashing as soon as they unlock my phone.
so my quesiton is, what good miui rom are there to flash? or where can i find this en.miui rom download.
thank you!
Hello,
Mi4c is officialy sold only in china, so the only roms avaible are china version.
Actually we have 6.x developer rom, which is rooted, and 7.x stable rom out.
You can find modded version of the official roms that include other languages than english and chinese, and get rid of Xiaomi bloat, made by Xiaomi.ue and Smiui.net.
sMiui here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4c/orig-development/rom-smiui-rom-ultimate-custom-rom-t3242215 or http://www.smiui.net/mi4c_libra.php
Xiaomi.eu here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4c/general/miui-eu-weekly-builds-t3236773 or http://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/miui-weekly-rom-releases.103/
I was looking to do the same thing and customizing in the kitchen is always super convenient, but I'm torn between starting off with the latest stable or dev.
I'm not afraid the dev would lock the bootloader or anything, I know they already removed that right away :good:
But I've not seen miui since v1 and I was thinking I'd use the phone out of th box 'as is' for a week or 2 to get a feel for performance and usability, and judge other roms based on that experience. But I'm thinking there's a good chance the phone ships with some reseller bloat so I might want to wipe and flash on day 1.
There's also a chance I stick with that rom for longer since I might be traveling. So am I best starting off on stable? I don't really know the big difference between the 2, does the 6 in the dev version imply it's still miui 6 so it won't have the performance improvements? I assume both will be full rooted coming off the smiui kitchen so that's basically all I need to start with.
If the dev build has any particularly good tweaks I might want to start with that as my benchmark for future roms..
Don't worry, dev 6.1.14 for mi4c is stable and fast, you can use it without issue.
using dev version I usually wait to update for 1 day to see if rom has big drawback checking comments on Xiaomi.eu threads
Just discovered a small bit of info on their forums, of what I was wondering about.
The version number on the dev simply means the date so 14th of januari 2016 is 6.1.14
First time I've seen a company use a datestamp where the year is one number. But like you feel about most other things when looking through their forums; information is obscured
So in the stable the first number does stand for the miui version, in the dev not at all.
I will be going for the dev then, since that is where all the informed people are so there's the best chance of knowing what you're getting.

[Q/A] Anyone have any suggestions for ROMs/OS's that work on the G925P/G920P?

Hey guys, I've been searching around for a rom that is compatible with the Sprint variants of the G920/G925. I've been having lots.. and I mean LOTS of trouble finding a rom that works with my phone (I have a G925P). An answer to this would really help me out ^^
I do have a list of what I want in roms as well, I'm looking for the following:
Rom is running Android 6.0.1 and beyond
Currently being maintained
Debloated and De-Knoxed
Compressed Size
Have apps like Android Pay to work (Apps using SafetyNet)
Has option to keep stock kernel for Magisk and Systemless Xposed
Multi-user Support
Battery Friendly
Allows for lockscreen customization/custom lock apps
And there you go, that's mainly what I'm looking for. Now, if it's an entire OS like LineageOS, I'm willing to try it but, it must fall within the lines of what I'm looking for (or as close as possible). Any answer would be acceptable IF it runs on my phone without any problems (basically, just throw out any answer you have).
Also, here is a list of ROMs I have already tried/searched:
Renegade v7 (No longer being maintained but I am currently using it)
LineageOS (Someone else confirmed that the kernel isn't compatiable with the G920P/G925P)
Mostly Stock for Samsung S6 Edge (I actually plan on trying this one again, as it is debloated and looks more like the stock so I can use more Xposed Modules)
CarRom HD (This bricked my phone after flashing the kernel, data didn't work when I had gotten it to work BEFORE I bricked it)
Alexis ROM (Doesn't work with Sprint variants)
I'm currently using Big Daddy PL3 Aroma V1.x which works great. I haven't been able to get magisk to work as of yet, but everything else is great.

Discussion about ROM's

Hi everyone.
Many of us using thier S7's with custom ROM's.
I'm using SuperMan ROM's and I got used to it, but after OREO I think something is missing there.
Considering goin back to SuperMan 2.9.0, which was better than 3.0.1 is, but maybe there is another rom worth trying?
So I have a question to you XDA community.
Which custom rom is best in your opinion and why?
Thanks.
I'm running LineageOS on Oreo 8.1, used to run SuperMan but just got tired of Samsung's skin and wanted closer to stock.
I really like it, it's snappy and I don't have to run any Xposed modules to get it to behave the way I want it to.
