Hi folks. I have the N817 (AKA the Quest) and my only reason for wanting to root is so that apps will go to my SD card instead of my internal. I have 32GB remaining even after putting my entire music collection on it. What apps are safe to use? I have heard a lot of these apps have virii. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.

Hey Guys,
I recently purchased Samsung Galaxy Blaze(T-Mobile, USA). I am trying to install Aura Sygic on this phone.
Installation of the core application goes fine without any error, but when I am trying to download complete USA maps, it's throwing an error "Not enough size available". Basically it's trying to download all the map data(around 4 GB) over the phone memory instead of SD card.
By default this phone comes with 4GB SD card and I am planning to buy another 16 GB SDHC card, but I am not sure, if there is any way to install applications by-default on the SD card instead of phone internal memory.
Posting this thread on XDA, hoping that genius developers can help me here without rooting/voiding the warranty.
Any updates guys?
been wondering about this myself. I do not want to root this phone but I need my apps on sd card not phone only.

It's not perfect.
Hey all,
Does the Z3 support installing every app fully to the SD card? I ask because 16gb seems a bit limiting if you can't fully use the SD card.
I just came here to ask the same question. In Kitkat 4.4.4 (and maybe other versions?) the 'Move to SD' is disabled/not there and it is up to the phone manufacturer to enable/add it. There is no option in settings on the Z3 to move app data to your SD card. It is very easy to enable apps to be able to use the SD card, either manually or using an app such as SDFix (but you will need to be rooted).
Here are some questions I would like answered if anyone knows:
There are folders on the SD card for most apps in /Android/data/ for example, 'com.microsoft.skydrive'. That same folder is also in the same place (/Android/data/) on the phones memory and contains data for the app. Can that just be moved with a file explorer to the SD card? If so are there any other steps to take?
Is there an app to automate moving data or a way to add the button in settings, apps?
Cheers
Wait till 5 ! It's was disabled is kk
You can use FolderMount to transfer game data to external storage (sdcard)
I use it and it is really essential to me
installed 4 big games
I'm getting a new Shield Portable and wanted to know what is the best and easiest way to move all of my installed apps, emulators and such over to the new one? I was just going to copy the folders over to the new one but I'm sure there will be problems. Also I am not rooted.
I have apps installed on the device, but I've also had the OS move some of the installs over to the external SD card to save storage, so I was certain just copying them will cause issues with updates and stuff, but I don't know for sure.
Also I have emulators installed as well and then moved them over to the external SD card.
I know the roms will be ok as they're not installed and just sitting on the external SD card.
Is there an easy way to move all of this stuff over? Any apps that would help with this? Anything?
any help would be appreciated
Hey guys. I know this post isn't related to root or anything but I really want someone to help me out on something. I recently bought a QMobile A1 (It's an Android One phone and I think it is the Karbonn Sparkle V changed into QMobile A1 in Pakistan, so you can consider it a Karbonn Sparkle V) and it came with Lollipop pre-loaded. So I updated it to Marshmallow and updated all the security patches and other updates. I also added a 16GB Micro SD Card info it and formatted it as Internal Storage. I tried taking some photos and videos but they all saved on my internal memory and it got full really quickly. Nothing goes inside the SD Card except for apps. I'm really worried about this because one of my relatives also bought the same phone and same SD Card but he could save photos and videos automatically on his SD. I asked him if he modified anything but he said he didn't. Please help me out because I only have 8GB of which only 5.75GB is available to me :crying: Thanks
Bro I think it is due to you have selected it as your internal storage. unmount the SD card and reset your device then Add your micro SD card and use a portable storage not internal it might work.
Nevermind, guys! I just migrated all of my internal data to SD and now it saves everything in it! Thank for the contribution though!
Hello, I just got a new A20 and I downloaded all the apps that I had on my previous phone to my new one. However for some reason, even though the phone does detect my SD Card (I can access the files there without problem) it doesn't let me move apps to the SD card. I always do this with every app I can to liberate space so I'd like to do it on my new phone too. Does anyone know if you have to activate it somewhere?
I guess you could try the " Force allow apps on external " in developer options.
You can install App2sd and link app data to sd card
Bouth answers are true ringers theres nothing technical to it i suggest a top grade sd card
Now i see what you ment its imposible dor some reason or other well not imposible but highly complicated to move apps and obb data to sd card
