So any chance that huawei mate 9 will get 3d facial detection feature and potrait mode for better blur effect like p10? Im getting hyped of this new feature ?
Can some one of xda member port camera app of P10 for Mate 9?
Maybe we will get it with future updates.
I hope so, P10 camera is same as Mate9 have, I think its possible to port the camera app of P10 to mate9, why to wait for updates then
By all means do it then.

Any details on how the camera - software, hardware, processing is vs the P9?
I do not have P9 personally but reviews and spec details of the two phones should give a somehow overview. I'm sure there is some vs. reviews out

I've seen pocketnow's review about honor 8's camera, performs the same as the p9 and they called it great.

Honor 8 lacks RAW capture in stock camera (unlike the P9 which has it) but can do RAW with 3rd party camera software.

If it supports RAW images then yes. I look through the specs and see if it supports it.

Does capturing in black and white vs adding a black and white filter post look different? Or shooting with the monochrome filter on?

On the P9, the monochrome camera can be used with the color one or alone. On the Honor 8, it can only used with the color one, not alone.
Would P9 RAW and B&W be available by installing the P9's camera app on the Honor 8?

I don't know about native monochrome, but RAW is available when using another camera app.
Hi guys,
I'm amazed with the background blur function that Huawei showed in http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/worldwide/manhattan_video/mate9_productvideo.mp4 (1'50'' ~ 1'57").
I have a Oneplus 3 and I want to know if it's possible to install that camera and use that function into another device.
Can you help me?
Thanks!
You mean the bokeh effect?
Sent from my MHA-L29 using XDA Labs
It's build in the mate 9 to make such pictures.
If its on 12 mp you can choose wide aperture enabled to make them.

You're saying you want to install the Mate 9 camera app on a Oneplus 3 to get the bokeh effect? Not going to happen. The Mate 9 uses the dual cameras to determine the depth of the objects in the frame. The Mate 9's camera software works with the Mate 9's hardware to create that effect. You can't just apply the software to completely different hardware and expect it to work.
I believe it's software related not hardware, sony can make the same effect with single camera.

Right, so can Apple. But that's not how Huawei does it.

So anyone knows an app that can do the same effect? :/
what i want is exactly the bokeh effect.
I can only suggest searching the PlayStore for "bokeh".

Hello friends i was wondering if any camra port will work perfectly on our mido ......
And finally I found a app that is working 100%
It is Moto G 4th Gen Camera port.
Credits:- @devmanus
Features:-
HDR
Slow motion recording
Normal recording upto 4k UHD and 2160p both @30fps
Everything is stable, picture quality is superb

Screenshots
I already post this camera?
I can corroborate this post!
I checked it out, perfect camera!
Other than HDR+ and photo sphere kind of Google camera specific features, this Moto cam mod is superior to the Google Camera port that we have.
Better try the Oneplus 5 camera mod .. Its good
Yellow flash or normal one?
Also can you fix credits link? There is no such user as @devman

Slow motion video quality is really pathetic, but it's also bad on MIUI so not sure if bug..
2160p video recording at 19fps.
Video 60 fps crash cam

Sample shot with hdr on, overall very nice but colors a bit off, for example wall behind color is almost orange (dark curry) but on pic looks yellowish..
You guys be the judge, the darker photo is from Google camera HDR mod and the lighter one is from this thread.
As said above the colors are a bit off because the clears the photo way too much still I can't complaint it really lights up the pictures, I'm gonna keep both and use Google cam for daylight and this one for night time

Really very good camera app everything is working fine. It struggles a bit to shift focus but really awesome
For some reason it doesn't work for me. It says camera error please restart camera even though I've manually given all the permission... I'm on AOSP 15, someone got any idea why?

You may need to edit the build.prop file and enable the persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1 and it will work.
does google camera get dark too? if not, please send me link
OnePlus 6 have only one camera in front but still supports portrait mode . Is OnePlus 6 having pixel like camera or is it different technology?
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
It's just a software trick! The pixel only has one camera on the back but their software allows portrait mode on that too.
As stated above, it's achieved via software. Some machine learning/AI help create the portrait mode effect. I use it on my Pixel 2 XL and it works flawlessly. Let's hope the 6 can match!
