I recently tried to install CWM Recovery in my Huawei Honor 4C and it was successful.
" YES! I installed Cofface Recovery, and I can now install Custom ROM!"
But then I found that its really hard to find a custom ROM for my model.
" I have to return my default ROM and update to lollipop since we have new update."
But then, every time I install the ROM (dload/UPDATE.APP) I realized something.
" my new CWM Recovery needs an Update.zip (ZIP format and not .APP format).. I have to do something."
I search how to convert .APP to ZIP but nothing, all methods from internet is not effective...
" What should I do? Im so tired"
So I decided to remove my new CWM (Cofface REcovery)... and try to install my update.app using normal method (dload/update).
"OMG!!!! my phone hang, not even loading any recovery.. CWM Recovery (Cofface REcovery) and default recovery is not showing, only honor logo"
I have tried Volume + and - bla2x... method.. not working neither..
I BADLY NEED HELP FROM GOOD DEVELOPER!! THANK YOU SO MUCH

1. Get bootloader unlock code https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/unlock/index
2. Enter fastboot mode [voldwn+pwr] and unlock bootloader (fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)
2. Download and flash TWRP_3.0.2_CUN-l03-l21.img or View attachment CWM_CUN-l03-l21.img recovery from fastboot (fastboot flash recovery xxxxxxxx.img)
3. Enter TWRP/CWM recovery mode [volup+pwr] flash supersu.zip and its done!:good:

Tested and working on CUN-L21 and L03, please test it on L29, l22, etc and post here the result!
FOR L21 USERS: THIS ONLY WORKS FROM B103 UPDATE YOU CAN TRY WITH THIS(sdcard method) or THIS(not tested)

You can backup your apps by using any of the apps available from play store, however without root these probably won't backup the apps data.
No need to backup system as this won't be affected by unlocking bootloader. The recovery partition will of course be overwritten when you flash TWRP.
Remember unlocking bootloader does factory reset the phone.

How exactly are you flashing your modified recovery?
Remember after flashing it you MUST immediately boot into recovery (Vol up + Power) or else the system will replace it with the stock recovery.

im flashing it with fastboot and after that im trying to go to recovery but it shows huawei logo for few seconds and rebooting now i cant go to recovery and i cant find stock recovery anywhere

Don't know why its not working but here is a link to two genuine stock ROMS for the y5II.

If you dont want to try flashing the whole rom then download "HuaweiUpdateExtractor" tool and extract just
the recovery partition from either of the roms and flash just that recovery.

Which stock recovery did you flash and did you use the Huawei Extract tool to extract it, if so what size was it exactly?
i was trying to flash both with cun-l22 recovery using update.app

OK, you are not giving me much information as to EXACTLY what you are doing, like what commands you are using and the responses you are getting and so are making it very difficult for me to help you.
Do you have a working recovery or not ?
BTW you cannot flash the Update.app from recovery, I suggest you do some research on how to use Dload.
I have attached a small PDF to get you going.
Huawei Update extractor tool is very handy though.

Same problem here as t214. I have the CUN-L21. Flashed twrp , didn't work , flashed back the L22 stock recovery , that doesn't work for me also so now i don't have any recovery. Does anybody have a solution for this ?

L.E. : managed to make the stock CUN-L22 recovery work , but still cannot flash TWRP or CWM , both cause 1-2 reboots and then normal booting , then i have to revert to stock again.
Can confirm this DOES NOT WORK on the CUN-L21. After flashing, Trying to boot into custom recovery takes you to a black screen for 1 second then continues to 'normal boot'. Now I have no recovery at all. What do I do?

Hello. Do what sparkrite said on the first page. Download the full rom from that Huawei website (the cun-l22 one , but it works). Download huawei update extractor and load in it the update.app. inside you will see recovery.img. Right click and extract. Flash that. Worked for me , i have stock l22 recovery , i don't know if it will be a problem on the long run but i can't find it for l21 anywhere.

Today i planned to install custom rom so i downloaded AOSiP-6.3-20180118-hi6250-UNOFFICIAL-HassanMirza01 this . and followed every procdure . when i booted the rom there was note: that u entered something like correct password and dcryption was unsuccess so ur data is corrupted reset ur phone so i tapped on reset button then it booted to twrp asking for password ... i skipped that and formated data ...then i booted , it got in bootloop .. then tried to restore old data .... when restored now m stuck on bootup animation
pls help as i asked help in telegram group there was no response i hope u guys can help me out...
Bro try other roms iam using the lineage 14.1 by hasan it will boot then your stock rom bootlooped bcz it not backed up successfully.
System.img is failed to restore if u want stock rom then install lineage os 14.1 then download update.APP and install through dload update

I have installed TWRP 3.1.1 and i wanted to download (any) custom rom and it goes extracting files and stuck forever,or goes to installing system and it just stucks at random% and cant move.Help ASAP
Can some one please share Root file / TWRP file for J701FDDU8CSK4 and share root procedure. please

Same problem here J701M Android Pie
Tried about 4 roms
stuck on installing system on all roms
reboot your system, reset and install the Samsung ROM, redo the steps to install Twrp (I recommend SHRP as it has native Magisk control)
