google photos issue - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

I am trying add a email address for Google photos but seems like it's telling me that email is already added to the system but it's not showing up in Google photos ?
Any advise how to fix this issue

Never mind I was able to figure the issue out

I haven't been able to upload to Picasa since switching to ICS

Anyone else having this issue? My issue is pretty much spelled out in this post.

My facebook login and my Google login are the same (my Gmail account, duh). And because of this it confuses the Picasa gallery tool when trying to retrieve the account information to upload photos and I get a "Failed to Retreive Account Information" error when trying to upload to Picasa. Really annoying and I've pretty much lived without Picasa the last 3 months using Facebook or Flickr instead. I haven't seen this issue posted about much around here, though it seems much more common on G Nexus forums. Surely I'm not the only Sensation user who has run into this bug?
From the other thread it's not just related to Facebook. Some users had issues with Linkdin. Others with Dropbox.
Sounds like you have similar issues I did (although mine was with Samsung Galaxy Note).
Here's what I did to fix it.

Hangouts questions

I am using hangouts strictly for sms, is there a way to get rid of the stupid suggestions list?
Also is there a way to sync Facebook contact photos with it, they're sunbed already to my Gmail account.

I found it annoying initially too, what I had done was this. I hopped onto Google plus and disabled suggestions. With that I also found it annoying to have circles in my SMS contacts too so I just hid them.
Another thing you could do is logout from your g+ account on hangouts.

[Q] Gmail Downloading Attachment Problems

Hey Guys,
I have the latest gmail app on my nexus 4, running Android 4.4.3 KitKat. I am unable to download any attachments through the app, and it is beginning to bother me. I have had this issue over the past gmail app versions, and from 4.4.2 KitKat also. Pictures say they can't load, and any other files fail to download, and retrying doesn't help. A workaround that I can use now is saving everything i need to Google drive from within the gmail app, and accessing them from another app, but this isn't a permanent solution. I have tried wiping gmail cache, gmail data, and completely uninstalling gmail and reinstalling it from the play store after a reboot, all to no avail. None of the solutions I have found work. If you guys Know how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi
I have the same problem!!?? it is very annoying please anybodies have a solution? I cant't open any attachment via gmail app always I use save to drive to see any attachment via my mobile device.
Hey,
I never solved the issue and from Browsing around it seems it happens to some people and not to others. I just use the drive workaround now, because I have nothing else left to try.

Hi
Yeah the same as me, I feel tired of finding a solution for this problem. it is very wired that Google didn't mention this problem or solving it by newest version of gmail app because I found many threat talking about the same issue without a solution. many of member say to switch to K9 app instead of gmail app but the problem that in the k9 there are no categories like gmail ( Primary, Promotion, Social, Forums) I used them a lot because I don't like to get a notification when a new email come to one of these categories except Primary. these feature doesn't exist in another email app like K9.

[Q] HD contact photos

Hi guys,
What is the best way to set HD photos for contacts?
Contacts are stored on my gmail account, I have not sync them with facebook or any other service and I am not planning to do it.
Every time after flashing the rom pictures are blurry. I believe Google saves them in lower resolution.
Is there any trick to have them always in HD?

I would like to know this too. I am a Google apps user and the contacts images once synced to Google go blurry.
This died not happen with regular Google account only Google apps for domains.
Any suggestions?
This has bugged me for a while but I realized they are actually HD.
What I do is open the people app and click the pic, after a few seconds it'll change to higher resolution and stay that way until you flash a new rom

Click to collapse
Nope, nothing changes here. They are still blurry.
But, thank you.

I know you said you didn't want to sync with Facebook but the most foolproof way is to use Haxsync. You can then go into the Haxsync settings and set it to sync with your Google account. They all show up in full resolution afterwards...

Hangouts v4 and v5 Savings Photos To Wrong SD Location?

I've tried Google Product Forums, but no one seems to care about this issue.
Photos taken with Hangouts are no longer visible in the "Google Photos" app.
Photos taken with Hangouts are saved to "/sdcard/camera-p.jpg" and over written by each new photo.
Hangouts v3.3.94322993, which I have downgraded to again, saves them to "/sdcard/DCIM/Camera/" with a file for each photo.
Anyone else having this problem? It's preventing me from updating the Hangouts app.
Really, I'm the only one in the world on XDA forums with this problem?
Maybe I should buy a lotto ticket.
