Hey guys, I have Mate 8 with C185 build, and my question is if there's a posibility to change it for example to C432? C185 version is annoying me, because I haven't got any updates. I live in Poland, but I bought the MF (if im right) version...
Another question is how to rollback to b200 or lower build if I updated it by dload metod to B320? Is it possible and hard to do? I tried factory reset, but it's still on B320. When I unpacked the phone it was on B190 build.
Thanks for help guys.

Hi there,
I just received my Honor 8 from Gearbest with the stock firmware FRD-L09C636B130.
The issue is that doesnt matter which region i choose the OTA updater doesnt find anything. Its frustrating since everyone else is already running Nougat.
Does anyone know how to force the update?
PS: I currently live in New Caledonia, which is a French territory on the Pacific.
Thanks!!
Be sure to update the HiCare app to the latest version. Then you will receive the Nougat update in 1-2 days. I received mine the day after purchasing the phone and upgrading HiCare

He meant that you should rebrand your phone to be a us version of honor 6x, then use the rollback package of the US model. That's better tbh
So tell me one more time, do I have to install another soft for example BLN-L23 and downgrade android? because i dont understant and tell me How much is it safe?
You should rebrand it to use US or EU firmware, then use the rollback package of which you rebranded your device to
Okay tell me its not problem if i will instal firmware BLN-L23 on my BLN-AL10?
Or whitch firmware i should install? BLN-AL10 is from china, BLN-L23 is from EU yes?

It's not easy like installing a firmware, there's a rebranding guide.
Okay i find this, https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/how-to/debranding-guide-china-rom-to-variant-t3568170
I can debrand to BLN-L21? or only to L22? In L22 we have full Polish Language?

You can debrand to L21, just follow the same steps, you just replace L22 firmware by L21
Okay, so if i will rebrand to BLN-L21 It's 100% I will not mess up the phone? Tell me if it's a lottery?
Make sure to do a backup

Follow manual and choose B181 FullOTA
Check availability first (to avoid traffic consumption, cause FF just force stock updates)
I recommend do factory reset after flashing also.
Alright thank you!

There is an easier and much safer way to update if you still have a SIM card of the country you purchased the phone from. It doesn't even have to be active anymore. Just insert it and reboot, then connect to wifi and all the updates will pop up.
Hope that helps

I don't think it matters. Bought a USA C567 for a friend and he is using it in Europe with European sim and he got the C567 Oreo before me. I still didn't get mine. I believe all firmwares are eventually approved for all imei's in a certain model, like model L29. You can check old FF's on the FF app for older firmware and you will see it is approved for almost every region. At least my USA phone is...

Believe it or not but it matters! Maybe your friend activated the C567 phone with a European SIM card and that's why he receives updates.
I bought a C636 phone in Cambodia and am constantly traveling around South East Asia. I never receive updates of any kind but the moment I insert a Cambodian SIM card the updates pop up.

Where do you get "oeminfo.bin"? There's a thread with a collection of them but all for Nougat... If the phone is currently on Oreo and want to rebrand staying on Oreo... I can use those Nougat oeminfos?

Well, if I had read it more carefully I would've said you need to downgrade to Nougat.
But it's done if you follow the instructions.
Sorry for the misinformation.
Edit: Though, with an oeminfo.bin from Oreo you should be able to rebrand straight to Oreo.
You could always ask mankindtw, he should know.

I got a ELS-NX9 with C10E7R3P1 cust version. It updates to 10.1.0.147.
I want to know if someone has this cust or if someone tries to change the cust to Europe (C432). I would like to install GS but everything I read is about downgrade and Firmware Finder can't give support to this cust.
Thanks!

Sorry for the delay!
In the end I didn't change the CUST. Because I read that the new way that Huawei has to pack the FULL-OTA does not have the CUST inside (it goes in another file).
I used HiSuite Proxy to downgrade to .131 and it works like a charm! I only used the 'Package URL'. I read it in a Russian forum. As soon as I get home, I can post the link.
When I set up GS, I updated to .147 via Settings > Updater. This week it was also updated to .160/161, I don't remember.
So you can keep the original CUST (because I cannot find it to download and I cannot backup) and it updates when Mother Russia wants. Or I can force it with HiSuite Proxy, but never tried it for confussion about Android security patches (updated Android patches in old Huawei packages and outdated Android patches in latest Huawei packages).

This is the tutorial (Thanks, Serrj.). Copy to Google Translate or DeepL. It's easy!
I was under the impression that there is no way to get GMS even with downgrading currently?
I have a brand new p40 pro with 131 and am holding off updating until I can get GMS
