Question, I know as posted it replaces a commit, but what sound issues does this actually fix?

I had a problem with low volume and low quality audio and I've fixed it by restoring file to it's version before that commit.

I took a phone call with the old zip and didnt have an issue. What was the problem with the microphone? Just curious.
I installed the zip and phone works great! I can now hear on the speaker.
Thank you for the patch!
I read from the latest changes log that this fix will not be needed for the next nightly as it is set to be patched.

Does it work right with the new commit ?
I see lot's of changes in the file (presumably good changes as they come from stock) with this commit odd behaviors can be expected.
Have you tested 06 build and can you give feedback please ?
I would myself but I'm on metered connection for the days. Thank you in advanced !
That fix doesnt work for me

I think that the problem was that in some apps the mic won't work properly. For example, in Bria or WhatsApp it wouldn't record any sound.
This fix has a weird issue for me. I'm using it on RR and it helped me a lot with headphones sound. But the normal speakers sound has a weird but where if you put your phone on portrait it will sound as usual (without the fix) but if you put it in landscape (fliping it to the left) the sound will get higher. Is this only happening to me?

Hi,
I have some problems using Viper4Android + PA.
Previously I used the Stock Based Elixr ROM. Viper4Android was shipped with it and I instantly fell in love with it.
But now I am using PA 4.6 Beta1 and I am unable to use it.
I installed it and activated the driver.
When I check the status of it, the "process" field says "no".
I attached three screenshots with information.
May someone help me?
Thanks in advance

Thank you for your help.
I installed it previously from the thread you have mentioned. I did a clean install and it didn't work.
I did the build prop "trick" and it works now.
Good news!
On my own ROM its never said "yes" for Processing, but I know it worked because I can hear the difference when you toggle something :/

Mine says yes, so long as audio is actually playing and I am looking at the tab that relates to how I am listening (eg I look at headphones tab if I am using headphones)

Yeah, but mine always said "no" regardless what tab I was looking at, or if I was using headphones or speaker while playing audio. Don't know why, but it still worked as normal, that's what matters

Maybe your phone has the /data partition with 11GB space. You must either flash a 8GB .pit file or manually extract files from system.new.dat in the ZIP file.

Hi Everyone,
I know this have been discussed many times, but I tried a lot of fixes here on xda forums and no one worked.
I was a happy user of Cyanogenmod and now a happy user of LineageOS, but since the update of "lineage-14.1-20170206-nightly-bacon-signed.zip" something changed because when I receive/send a call, the other one can't hear me, if I change to speaker there is no problem. If i go back to lineage-14.1-20170130-nightly-bacon-signed.zip mic start to work normally as always and I have no problems on calls.
I remember this happened me to with cyanogenmod but they fixed in the next days with a new nigthly I remember this because I ordered a new mic and change it thinking it was a mic problem.
I tried everything how I say on the top of this post, deactivated "OK Google" Detection, wipe cache/data, clean install, flashed many zips, nothing worked... only thing that works is go back to lineage-14.1-20170130-nightly-bacon-signed.zip
I don't know if this that was changed between the two nightlies could be related:
Changelog lineage-14.1-20170206-nightly-bacon-signed.zip: download.lineageos.org/bacon/changes/1486360186/
- review.lineageos.org/#/c/160172/

It's a common issue of OPO but as you say it worked on previous nightly,it could be a lineage issue too.See if you can post a logcat of the same to the developers.
However you can try installing magisk and it's specific OPO mic fixing module.
See the attachment for reference.

Hi Mr.Ak,
Sorry for the delay on my response.
As you suggested I tried forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/fix-low-mic-call-t3055661 and mic is working fine just now, but why I need this module/patch? why is not included the fix on lineageos? It's very strange that from one nightly to another one it starts to happen. Sorry if it's some obvious but i can't understand this.
I exported 2 logcats one before apply the patch and another one after the patch was applied, I don't know if i can post it here or there is some confidential information inside. I can share with you on PM if you prefer.
Thanks for the help.

Lol,there is no confidential information inside.It just contain whereabouts of bug and what's the cause.Needs Java and c++ language knowledge to read.Share the logcat in the Discussion thread of lineage Os,official devs might take an interest.Also see if any new update comes and fixes the issue.
I read it on Oneplus forum, a work around is to disable "Ok Google" detection from any screen. It did the trick for my friend on COS 13.1.

Go to system/build.prop and replace the following two lines:
persist.audio.fluence.voicecall=true
ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=fluence
with:
persist.audio.fluence.voicecall=false ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=none.
I hope that solves your issue.
I'm in trouble (my voice is not heard by the caller). I have already edited build.prop, mixer_paths, and nothing worked. I used Magisk with an OPO-specific module and it did not work either.
I faced the similar issue with mic and tried a lot of solutions working by changing build.prop and installing mods but none of it worked completely. The mic issue improved with the changes but not fully solved. In the end, I got the microphone replaced from the service center and that solved the issue. Please check out few of my findings in the blog

The clicks are caused by the focus issues sadly, but the LeEco fix should be implemented into the custom rom im using in this weeks update, so I gotta hold out from using the camera until then!

All I can suggest as a wild guess is that if you are on latest Magisk (20), try to update Manager again (it had a problem, now fixed) or roll back to earlier version 19
All the best
