You should try Floatify Pro. In this application you can change notification theme.

Try Good Lock. It's pretty similar and more stock Android looking. The last version on MM allowed you to make the colors whatever you wanted so you could make it dark like you want.

Blackout is very quick.
5 sec and quick cover screen is dark and stop work.
Press a power button and app start again for next 5 second.
Access for app settings may give a some answers.
