I just bought a used HTC M8 AT&T from Ebay with 4.4.2 KITKAT not rooted and never been as the saler has told me... I am trying to update it to Marshmallow, I have tried the manual method by downloading the RUU from the HTC website and then install it, but in vain... Everytime I attempt to install it, it gives me ERROR 170 I have tried it on different computers, with different cables, nothing worked! Any help is greatly appreciated guys!
PS: I am a complete newbie when it comes to ROMS.... etc...

I bought an HTC one M8 verizon, because I read it was unlocked and it was at a great price. Unfortunately it wasnt unlocked. I've tried installing android revolution 8.0 onto it to make it the international version, but it never works, system keeps force closing. I was wondering if anyone is having the same problem or can help out. I do have the phone permanently rooted via a"stock" rom, S-off'd, Bootloader Unlocked via HTC dev, and SuperCID on. I've looked all over and can't find a thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried every variant of AR 8.0, and I even tried AR 8.1, could it be the stock firmwire im coming from?
I try the variants and all I get is systemui shutdown and smartcardservices shutdown, ANY help would be greatly appreciated...

I have bought a used HTC ONE M8 and the 4.4.4 update is already available (its running the Android 4.4.3) but I become this messege "there is no update available on your phone"
I have asked the HTC support in germany and they sayed that my phone doesent run an original software an the Bootloader is unlocked
I've searched in internet and I could flash the stock recovery and Ive locked the phone again and Ive done a format but I couldnt become the OTA update

I recently tried to install a custom rom on my M7 (CM12) and it flashed successfully however now it won't get past the first screen when it boots. I have tried about 4 different CM12 roms, both unofficially and officially and it keeps happening. I have tried the Maximus (per this forum) Sense software and still nothing. It just sits on the bootup screen. My phone is basically useless at this point. I am running a HTC One M7 Factory Unlocked (US Warranty, which has been voided) on AT&T here in the states. Thanks in advance.

a year ago i bought the HTC One M8 from a shop in Pakistan, it was working fine no flaws at all, i wanted to update it but it wont update via OTA. then i read about updating stock ROMS i then studied it and applied the procedure, installed new firmware and also stock ROM, then the device stuck on the HANDS ON ACTIVATION, another thing is sprint logo came which did not come since when i bought the phone, then someone suggested me to install a custom ROM
So i then rooted my phone, install TWRP and another Firmware and then a Custom ROM installed successfully and my device turns on and works fine but the problem is now my signals for SIM network are gone. i dont know what happened to them.
Can any one suggest the solution to this problem.
Currently i am running Firmware: 4.25.651.8 and android OS 6.0 sense 7.0, also within 20 minutes my phone restart itself i assume thats the problem with the ROM i installed. Please Help me get out of this situation.
