That's because the carriers are blocking downgrades now so once you take a certain firmware update you can no longer go backwards. Other custom roms are fine because the bootloader is unlocked.
I'm not trying to go back a firmware I'm just trying to get on the latest stock ROM . I know they won't let you go back . Any suggestions to get back to stock I got all my stock tar file ROMs from sammobile

It looks to me as if everything went okay except the modem.bin file so in the firmwares you have use a program like 7zip and extract the modem.bin from a newer(different) firmware and then zip it back up into modem.tar to flash it with odin.

Hi,
If you have the latest firmware (3.32) on ICS,Then there is no need to flash it again every time you install one of the latest ICS ROMS.
yeah 3.32 is the way to go now, try the sebastianFm or faux kernels, both are stable.
you just have to install fw once , and when there was a new fw you need to flash the new fw just once .
no need to flash same fw again and again .
Flash firmware is only required if you decide to go back to the old GB ROM
thanks for the response guys. im just trying to troubleshoot my mobile data drop problem. since it has happened with a number of different roms im just trying to rule things out.
Well done very good

i flashed the new OTA using twrp.. then i flashed twrp again using fastboot... then i flashed the supersu.1.80 zip.. in twrp...
This is a Nexus, anything is possible.
So I manually flashed all the img files from the 4.4 file, including the userdata one. however I wasn't able to get to the recovery mode screen by presing power + up button so I was stuck on the android exclamation mark and couldn't erase data. When I restarted the phone everything is back to stock BUT I have no signal it seems the radio is broken. wifi is ok. Can anybody help please?

I am interested on this as well.
Interested too.
And of course, also interested in 4.4.2 if available.
I'm interested as well. Need stock SL.en.EU version, preferably 14.91.11, but older ones are also good. We need a method to extract stock firmwares.
Please, consider all you people asking in the Firmware Team forums, both for method and new uploads on sbf.droid-developers.org

I want to ask something guys...
Since I hadn't flashed stock firmwares for ages it's an easy question to answer...
Flashing the stock firmware wipes all data or not...??
I want to flash http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/44906/N915FXXU1BOC6_N915FOXE1BOC6_CAU/ this rom.
It makes an update or, reinstalls everything?

No...you will not loose data. But as usual...when upgrading rom or firmware...especially when they are from totally different platform such as kitkat and loly...it is highly recommended to do a full wipe. Otherwise you will find some glitches or other issues .

Hi guys.
so i bought this used galaxy s6. it was dirt cheap. it runs perfectly fine but the problem is that it cant update because of the custom rom, so i decided to flash the stock firmware on it but apparently odin fails to do so. kindly help me out to take the appropriate steps.
