Disable Keyboard Emoji - General Questions and Answers

Hey guys,
So, I f***ing HATE emojis.
Can anyone tell me if there is a keyboard out there that has NO EMOJI buttons?
or
Can anyone tell me how to remove it from SuperSwift keyboard? Like remove it completely?
Thank you!

This method requires root. And a root file manager such as ES File Explorer or Root Explorer.
1. Open file manager and navigate to /system/fonts/
2. Delete or rename the file "NotoColorEmoji.ttf"
3. Reboot.
As always though, making a nandroid backup is recommended before messing with system files

[Q] Help needed for bootanimation

Dear all,
I have my eee pad installed with the latest Revolver Rom. I would like to install a custom boot animation. I searched a bit and would like to use ES file manager to create a folder: \Data\Local.
Now, the Data folder is already there but when I try to create a folder, it tells me that I cannot create a folder. I can also not replace the bootanimation under \System\Media.
Is there any way I can get write access here?
You need to allow ES File explorer root access.
Both the data/local and system/media is already there, no need to create any folder. You could also ADB push the file to the location
You can also try an application called Root Explorer (from the market), which works for me. But I've never really used ES File explorer much (there was something I did not like about the UI), so I cannot compare.
Solved!
Thank you for the replies. Indeed, needed to give root access to ES File Eplorer through options in the program.
Cheers!

Why does my Go Keyboard reset to stock?

Hi guys,
would anyone know why my Go Keyboard gets reset to the stock keyboard after every reboot? Im thinking maybe the app is stored in the wrong location or something.
After rebooting, I must always go into Settings to change it from stock to Go Keyboard. I prefer not having to do that
Thanks!!
I don't know about this problem, because I'm not using the Go keyboard but what you might try is to navigate to /data/app/ and look for the go keyboard apk.
Important:
Just to verify, for all that I'm saying right now you need to have root permission. So if you don't have root this won't be a solution for you. And backup the files, before modifying them!
Well, as I said, navigate to the path and copy the apk to system/app/ and rename the existing AxT9IME.apk to AxT9IME.apk.bak (for example) and rename the go keyboard apk to AxT9IME.apk .
So what you did was just renaming the go keyboard to the stock android keyboard. Hope this helps!
If don't, just delete the modifyed AxT9IME.apk and rename the AxT9IME.apk.bak to AxT9IME.apk .
U might just freeze all un used ime with Titanium bkup or rename the. Apk to sth else like above said

[Q] Issue editing build.prop

I recently rooted my Inspire and loaded CM7.2 RC1 and I was just trying to increase my download speeds by editing the build.prop file. I'm using explorer v1.1 to get to the system folder and then editing the build.prop file using the text editor. When in explorer it says r/w and I can actually edit the file and save it but it never seems to actually save the changes even though it says it did. I tried using mount/system(rw/ro) to ensure that it was actually mounted but I am getting the same result. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
ES file explorer
Hi, I use the es file explorer, when you open it up hit "menu" scroll to bottom and make sure both root settings boxes are checked, then restart app. You should be good to go.
I recommend ROM Toolbox. It has a root file explorer and many other tools which come in handy on a rooted phone.

R/W System/app folder

Hi,
Maybe someone can help me out and tell me how can I make my system/app folder R/W.
I want to install DSP Manager via recovery, but my phone doesn't let me move the app to the system/app folder, because it only reads, it says!
Can someone tell me how I make it writable, please!
Use a program like ES File Explorer and make sure root/write settings are set in the options menu. Now you'll be able to edit files directly.
Thank you for your help, it worked!

Mini Applications

Is there a way to remove the mini applications? I don't really need all these appz.
I use a custom rom and no mini apps found my device is p-5100 10 inch tab2 i tried fryrom version 7, cm9 and now in cm10 no mini apps or button for screenshot in any of them
Try a custom rom that conform to you device and you will not have them see developers section and take care of model number of your tab as it will help you choose the custom rom that is designed specifically for your tab

If you are rooted, use a file explorer that allows you to mount the system as Read/write (Root Explorer is a good one) and go into /system/app.
Remove, move, or rename everything with "mini" in the name.
Then go to /system/framework and remove minimode.jar
Reboot.
Done.

I just removed them from my 3113 with stock rooted Jellybean, I removed the apk and odex from system/app and the file from system/framework. Note: do not remove every file with "mini" in it on the JB OS, the taskmanager has a bunch of files with the word mini in them, it'll probably break something.
Doing just the files did not remove the arrow from the bottom right however, I had to extract SystemUI.apk and mod the button PNG files to make them transparent, just used 7zip to extract and add back to the archive, recopied in and reset permissions. I attached the transparent PNG's to this post. Only thing to note is if you press in the area where the arrow used to be, you still get the blue circle effect, there's a couple PNG's for that, doesn't bother me though so I didn't mess with them.
