Which issue are you referring to?
But yes, focus is working fine

on stock is very difficult to focus when shooting photos on wide areas, it focuses easier on macros and close photos. I also have U13 Pro with same chipset, will you also work for that model?

Wow, nice work...:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Great work guys! I found a typo in your instructions. "save" should be "safe"

U13 pro? There is no PRO version for U13

sorry, U15 pro, was a typo.
I still confirm there are some issues with focusing when shooting from medium to far distance, at least in my phone. Photos ends up a bit blurry even when tapping on the screen for focus, I'd want to see other feedbacks to understand if the problem is my model or if it's a software issue.

Oukitel U15S and Blackview R7 are way more interesting. The battery capacity isn't the greatest (2700 mAh/3000 mAh) though.
I know M.A.D. team doesn't take requests per se, but it would be interesting to see them take on one of the big screen phones (6"+):
Doogee Y6 Max, Bluboo Maya Max, Leagoo Shark 1 etc.

Oukitel has sent us the u13 to develop the rom for it.

I was already in contact with you on Facebook about the Ramos Mos1 Max. But unfortunately, Ramos hasn't returned your inquiry.
I have contacted Bluboo, Doogee and Leagoo asking for the kernel sources.

I have the same distance focus issue on my U13 camera so it's not just your handset. I am still on stock 6.0.
I have read a review of the U13 which states that if you first focus on a foreground object and then point to the U13 camera at the distance shot you want to take and quickly take the shot, the distance picture will be focused correctly. I have tried this and it does mostly work - if you get the technique right.
This fault does seem to be a camera focus software or firmware issue. At least, I hope it's not a hardware problem! Let's hope the M.A.D. developers can improve the camera focus performance on future releases.
Do I understand that you have installed the M.A.D ROM? If so, how is the battery life compared to stock ROM please?

couldn't tell you yet because it's not my daily driver and I don't even have SIM on it, with stock rom I just used it to test it briefly the functions and flashed MAD stright away, so far standby consumption seems very good, now I'ìm running a no-stop video playback and will report you how many hours will it reach.
I've read the battery is a not a real 3000mah but a 2300mah unit, so I don't expect miracles.
A real shame because the phone is GORGEUS and has a build quality able to rival phones with three times the price, but battery is really limitating, could and should have been better.

Yes, I read that about the battery having less capacity than advertised. If true, it's not the sort of behaviour that will build brand loyalty to Oukitel. If the camera functioned correctly and the battery was as advertised, I would be really pleased with my U13 purchase. Instead, I'm trying hard not to regret the purchase.
Just a heads up: I always run the Chinese Backdoor Malware Check app on any Chinese handset I buy (and I buy a few). On the U13 (stock rom) the app reports potential malware backdoors of fota.sysoper and/or adups.fota baked into the rom (can't uninstall without root). Don't know if the app is correctly reporting the facts, but it doesn't look good.
I was wondering if the MAD rom has these malware backdoors installed? Since the MAD rom is based on the stock rom as supplied by Oukitel.

I already did all that, and the result is the same. Go PM.
Regards, I inform you that I have been doing a series of tests on my mobile, to try to flash some existing roms. For now the following happens: The official firmware from the 20160912 and lower version do not work (I still have to try the 20161019 version), the 20161024 and 20161117 versions work correctly.
Another error, for now the one that has me more restless is the following: The only functional recovery is the TWRP of the user hanuma50 that has incompatibility with certain roms, the other versions of TWRP available do not work, when trying to install it using SPFT , Flashify or from the same TWRP are installed correctly, but at the time of running it simply restarts the mobile and starts the system normally.
I'm thinking because it is because there is surely a new batch of mobile with changes to the hardware, but I do not know, Do you know anything about it?
Another thing, if the darksense kernel flashed the mobile stops working (it enters an infinite loop with the Ulefone logo), it was tested in stock rom and in the Eragon rom.
I get an incoming or outgoing call and the phone reboots. And at any moment without cause - reboots. With a minimum brightness of the smartphone - screen flashes intermittently.
I have TWRP 3.2.0. The installation process start and stop imedietly with an error 7.

That's definitely bad news. Sounds like ulefone indeed is using different hardware in newer batches.
There's nothing we can do about it, without updated source code.
Please contact ulefone about the issue, and ask for updating kernel sources.
Only with this we can fix it

From what medium can I communicate with the ulefone team? I really want to enjoy the scene of the mobile .
What seems strange to me is that the last 2 roms stock work without problems on all devices, the same with the rom eragon (based on the firmware stock 20161024), and finally, the same with the TWRP modified by the user hanuma50 Posted on needrom (Could you keep an eye on this to understand what makes it special?), Thanks for the support and for the help.

Yes, several signs indicate that the hardware is not the same for all phone.
e.g.: With same firmware the touch panel work fine on my phone, but not on all phone.
TWRP wrote something like that: This ROM for metal your device mtk6753. ??? I don't remember exactly.

Other TWRP unsupport.
Well then it seems there's at least two hardware revisions for Ulephone Metal.
Unfortunately, we only own one of the revisions.

XOS is a new generation Android-based cutting-edge OS based on the Android Open Source Project and Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Code Aurora Forum (CAF),
with extremely minor set of components from LineageOS (LaOS or LN) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the AOSP and CAF, the LineageOS Project and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,
then join us on Telegram: http://telegram.me/halogenos
Visit our website for features such as: Downloads, Information etc.
http://halogenos.org
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another ROM:
Code:
* Please take a full [I]Nandroid[/I] backup!
* Please copy your back up to an external device.
* Backing up your [I]Internal Storage[/I] is also recommended.
* When completed, [I]clean flash[/I] the build!
Although you usually may dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM is built upon the same Android version, it is not guaranteed.
In case of performance issues or crashes please do a clean flash.
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

I am curious: Is this Rom based on the pure AOSP source code, or based on the lineage (CyanogenMod) sources? If it is based on pure AOSP is there a white balance setting? (like live display on lineage)

This ROM is based on AOSP and CAF. Not on LineageOS. We have Night Light which turns down the blue level (good for night etc.).
For manual precise settings, use Kernel Adiutor (root needed) which is available on Play Store.
Just go into the Display section and there you can find various settings.
Screenshots updated.
German included?
Awesome ROM Just flashed it on my 3T....It's the pure AOSP experience, very nice. So far it seems even snappier than lineage...

Fingerprint should work fine, there have been changes to it.
I don't know about heating issues but that shouldn't happen (our testers did not report such an issue as far as I know).
Just flashed this ROM. Nice and fast. I did find one bug however. I prefer to use a navigation bar, and long pressing
the home button does not bring up google assistant. However, binding the double tap to search assistant does bring google
assistant up. Actually I kind of like that now that I've set that, but thought I'd mention it.
FP scanner, fast and stable.

General F.A.Q.
Q: What the hell is madOS ?
A: madOS, (M.A.D. Team OS), is a ROM based on pure A.O.S.P. with extended capabilities and customizations made by or merge/adapted by M.A.D. Team.
Q: Which recovery do we need to use to install the rom?
A: Here you can find latest TWRP: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ovmmtkqqudmzwk5/h5000_mad_twrp.rar
Q: HOw do I install the TWRP from above?
A: Extract the .rar file and flash it by using flashtool.
If you already have an older TWRP installed, you also can copy the new img file to your phone, boot to your 'old' TWRP and choose: install --> flash image --> choose the twrp img --> destination: recovery.
Q: Some translations are missing for my language, can I help?
A: Sure you can, please check our translations repo available here , you can either do a pull request, or if you don't know how to work with git, sent us the XML. Strings for your language ( Check Readme on repo).
Q: What's working ?
A: Check first Post for current status
Q: When I try to install the ROM it says "Error 7 symlink failed", what gives?
A: You need to unmount /system first on twrp
Q: After flashing TWRP says "No OS Installed?"
A: Ignore this message. If the ROM flash indicated as being successful, you can swipe to reboot and the OS should boot.
Q: Do i really need full wipes?
A: Yeah
Q: App "x" doesn't work, why?
A: Probably not compatible with Nougat yet, feedback is welcome
Q: Is the rom rooted?
A: NO, But you can easily root with SuperSU v2.76 onwards.
For 7.1.2: Latest SuperSU ( 2.79, etc)
Q: Does xposed work?
A: As of now, there's no Xposed for N, so no
Q: Does busybox still works on Nougat?
A: yes
Q: AdAway no longer works on Nougat, what can I do?
A: Simply install busybox first, available from the Play Store, and it'll download hosts and work just fine then
Q: Data Connection does not work, why?
A: The ROM, already includes latest APNs, if you still have no active data connection, check your APN settings
Q: How is battery life with Nougat?
A: It should be comparable to Marshmallow.
Update: We've already fixed several memory leaks and draining issues
Q: Does this build support Vulcan?
A: No. Vulcan does not provide support for MediaTek (yet?)
Q: Does doze work in this build?
A: Yes. You do not have to enable anything; it is active by default.
Q: Does this ROM supports Substratum ?
A: YES, latest rootless substratum is supported on madOS
madOS: We are now an Official Substratum supported rom
Q: Does the ROM features disabling SIMs , On Settings SIM Options?
A: YES, we've now merged our own implementation (adapted for N)
Q: when will (feature/issue here) be fixed?
A: NO ETA , please
Porting F.A.Q.
No porting support, no port questions allowed on this thread, and porting PMs will be auto-deleted, porting replies will be reported as well
G.APPS F.A.Q.
Q:What GAPPS package should I use?
A: Open GAPPS (BeansGapps should work as well)
Update 7.1.2
OpenGapps (pico/nano) Packages, are recommended (or Beans GAPPS (MINI))
Q: How to properly install GAPPS?
A:Flash Rom + Flash Gapps at once

Are their any major issue's with this phone I should be aware of prior to purchase.
I cant believe how quiet this thread is
Keep up the great work BTW. :highfive:

Yes, I am using it.
The device is really good for this price... Unfortunately there seem to be different revisions with new touchpanel and no source code update.
Maybe it's worth taking a look at vernee Apollo lite, which isn't too expensive anymore either.

Thanks for the info :good:
I literally just bought the H5000 before your reply which was due to the fact that I saw one on Amazon Warehouse Deals (Opened Box) the very last one at a bargain price of £59 that's about 64 euros I prefer the smaller phones 5" or 5.2" max as I seem to drop the larger ones much more often for some reason.
Hopefully the phone I receive will have the same touchpanel as yours. :fingers-crossed: :fingers-crossed:

Working Perfectly
Hi,
For Info:
I Run into 1 issue which was that there was no recovery, bootloader options when pressing the volume + and power key.
After a quick search I found the solution on another thread HERE. I believe this does not affect all devices so was probably just the ROM version my device shipped with. (Thanks to which ever of M.A.D Team provided the working preloader and lk :good: )
I followed the instructions for flashing TWRP and performing the wipe when coming from stock I then flashed ROM from the OP.
I installed Open GApps ARM64 7.1 pico from HERE
I then flashed the SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip.
V2.82 is currently the Latest version and it's listed under ZIP (Recovery Flashable.zip MD5:8755c94775431f20bd8de368a2c7a179) from HERE just incase anyone gets confused.
It's very early days yet but I am sure everything will be perfect. :highfive:

Do you know how to distinguish new revision from old?
Edit: if I flash your rom to new revision and it doesn't work, can I go back to stock with flashing stock rom through flashtool ?
Edit2: Just tested my phone with your twrp and screen is unresponsive when booting to it. So I must have new touchscreen.
With trepidation
@DerTeufel1980
 @superdragonpt
Out of sheer confusion on my part and at the personal risk of been eaten alive could I ask a few OT questions here or solicit a response to some questions I may have in the correct device thread located HERE .
The questions would relate to the possibilities of me upstreaming the published Android 4.4 Kernel source code (kv-3.10)
Thanks bigrammy.

I think it's almost impossible.
Your best try is, to use the 4.4 kernel and add your device drivers. But since those drivers are from 3.10... It's most probably taking longer than Linux 4.4 is going to be updated

I have some bugs to report. If fixable please fix-
1) Your internal system has some problem bug(bug already mention in OP)
2) Pie gestures are buggy and it says swipe on left or right which can be confused with miui gestures instead of op gestures.
3) If gestures are enabled, it doesnt automatically hide navbar. Navbar appears over the gestures after a while(cant see the back button on navbar after this reappearance)
4) Face unlock doesnt work(with c2api)so cant check auto face unlock feature
5)Fingerprint authentication vibration option should not be in navigation options. Also the option turns itself off when you go back to the settings page
6) Slide on navbar to control brightness doesnt work. It doesnt have any effect till halfway and after that the screen just dims itself even further
7) When clock is shifted to the right, it leaves a disturbing space between the first notification icon and the left end of the screen
8) Camera2Api works fine. miui cam crashes when c2api is enabled(mentioned already in OP)
9) No playstore downloading notification
Rest everything works well and ROM is smooth. I'll be looking forward to the upcoming updates.

I can't find the source of the problem. I switch to mcaosp that doesn't have it.
I usually switch back to a GSI rom lile Benzo or PE and they are all fine

I had a similar issue while restoring backup on WeChat with crDroid and Nitrogen (backup is done via WiFi and it suddenly stops and crashes after some seconds like if there was a signal cut), but ArrowOS is working fine for me.

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and we are now based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the GZOSP team, if it concerns their code base. This ROM isn't GZOSP supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels officially?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP. Custom ROMs modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROMs. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Pie. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (latest TWRP from the CarbonROM thread recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Reboot your device.
The procedure might vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution can be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 17.2 don't usually require to be flashed on every dirty flash.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

It´s not a bug, it´s normal in Android 9 because i can´t trigger the split screen mode on my Pixel 2 with the Recent button.
have been using all day and must say it is snappy. The only thing i see not working so far is DOUBLE TAP TO WAKE. it is enabled in AICP Settings, but not working. Double tap to sleep is working but not double tap to wake. It is not something i can't live without, but it is nice to have. Otherwise all the basic stuff seems to work without issue.....For me anyway.

You could use smartbar (Aicp Extras/Navigation/Enable navigation bar/Navigation mode - > smartbar) which is a highly customizable navigation bar and set it up to trigger split screen with long press on recents button if you wish
Thanks for the start of the work! I hope new improvements of this rom, mainly in the economy of battery, thank you and have a great new year

Great work, especially for an initial version.
Thanks for keeping this device alive.
I can not wait to test the rom, but currently I'm traveling and need the tablet.
Can someone please tell me the widevine security level?
(Does it work to download content from Netflix?)
It can be checked with DRM info (available at Playstore).
Does Miracast/screen cast and the camera(videos/photos/video calls) work?
Splitscreen
All the split screen functionality may have changed with PIE. I rarely use split screen so I'm not sure. But i have been testing and.....SPLIT SCREEN DOES WORK. When you enter recent's, long press the icon above the recent window and you will get the split screen option. I tried using STOCK recents to get it to work this way.
If using SLIM RECENTS, long press the recent app name then select the side by side windows.
Hope this helps the ones needing split screen...
Yep, split screen works e.g. for smartbar...so no issue.
I noticed that when I make a phone call the person on the other side can't hear me.
bug: the MAC address changes upon reboot. thanks for continuing to support the z2 tab!

Yes castor. Will get and post the logcat today evening.
So the Camera issue is still a thing? At first it works, but after a couple of restart i only receive the message "android camera could not connect"
also can't get a rotation lock working / i'm using rotation control pro but the tablet is still switching from landscape back *grml*
beside that, thank your for your work on this ROM. it's amazing that this tablet is still supported by someone (even the LTE Version) and surprise, it really works well
with android 9 .. i'm happy *thumbs up*

I haven't experienced that yet, could you provide a logcat for this?
First of all, a huge THANK YOU to all people involved! It is incredible that we get Pie on our almost 5 year old tablet!
I have installed this ROM the following way:
- Extracted boot.img
- Flashed boot.img with fastboot
- Flashed TWRP with fastboot
- Edit: Flashed ROM/ GApps Pico
- Rebooted
- Flashed Magisk
So far everything which I have tested has worked:
- Google integration (Fotos etc.)
- WIFI/ Internet
- Youtube
- Chromecast
- Camera
I cannot say anything about battery consumption yet, but this is just a first beta anyways...
I'm very happy, keep up the good work :good:
