So, sad, it's already discounted to $360 or $15/month. I guess they're getting ready for the V30

V30:
http://indianexpress.com/article/te...port-snapdragon-835-processor-6gb-ram-report/
Well. Lucky for me, even when i bought it for $800+, the device ended up costing me $300+ thanks to the promo of $200 and the 2 earphones which i sold for $135 each. O.O but i think i know why they lowered the price so much. It is because people usually pass in front of the phone in the store and never even looked at it. Oh well. But it might be while before the v30 comes yet
I don't know if I should be upset or ecstatic? I paid the full price ($769) as my existing phone still had money owed. I wish I had a need for a second V20.
Its a sale price and not a permanent discount.... The S7 and the S7 edge are also $360 for a limited time
yup, it is just a sale to get people like me who were waiting for the LG G6 or Samsung S8 to jump ship and it worked.
My V20 should be here tomorrow, switching from VZW Moto Z Force DRoid

Aside from the batttery life with screen on been no more than 6+ or 5+ hours (could be more if you are doing something less heavy) , everything else is great. And the doze mode for this phone is OUTSTANDING. It does preserve the battery quite well when the screen is off and you can still be using apps such as pandora or spotify. But if the battery if an issue, nothing that a 2nd baytery wouldnt compensate (something that pretty much every other flagship has abandoned. (included the rumors of the g6 with non removable battery and glass exterior and waterproof from a leak on gsmarena.)this might be the last flagship lg will do with removable battery. So sad. I will be keeping the v20 for a minimum of 4 years unless something happens to it. . I love the ir blaster, hi-fi dac, sd slot, 2nd screen, dual camera one of them being 16mp, the ability to control the macro at will, the metal body even if its inside a cover, the almost fully customizable design of the UI, the ability to be rooted and use magisk to hide the root from android pay and some other apps, the dedication which developers are supporting this device is great (i which there were more kernels but well) , and there are just soooo many stuff i love about this phone that to write it down it would easily take me a page here
I'm waiting for the Note 8 and using the Note 5 which is starting to die on me. Slow performance and bad battery life, this deal makes it so tempting.
No its because the demand for the phone is horrible, no one wants it haha. It will plummit more just watch. And you wont see anything true on the V30 til 3rd/4th quarter. You can buy a V20 on ebay for 300 bucks since the first month it came out lol

does that means that the s7 and s7 edge are horribles phones too? because for what i can see on the website they are at the same price than the v20. And the LG G5 cost more than both of them lol! . In my opinion the V20 is not horrible at all. A company wouldnt dare to keep such a low price for more than a few days. Otherwise, well.... they might experience a shortage for which they cant account for if all the v20's and s7's are sold. Then they would be losing a massive amount of money for leaving the price so low. Thus, it doesnt matter how you see the V20. It still been one of the latest flagships with almost latest technology integrated and some features that others dont have just like samsung has some features that the v20 doesnt have. But im almost 100% sure that if the price of the s7 rises again, we will see the v20 price rise once again.

I know you're a dev, but you have to ask yourself how many phones have to break in your possession before you consider maybe the phone isn't the problem?
Two bad phones; statistical nightmare. Three bad phones you're either picky or careless. Four bad phones you're just abusing the system.
Argh, I literally bought the phone like 2 weeks ago at full price.

Call 3 different agents and see what they say. Dont give any details abkut what each other agent told you. Just ask them why is the price lowered that much. If all of them agrees then it must be true. Because i have had the experience of talking with more than 30+ agents from tmobile already and they tend to not be coordinated at all (meaning they give completely different and unrelated answer to each others). On the second hand, how long does a phone last in a store before it is removed? Lets think about when they released the s4 and s5 or the g2 and g3. They lasted quite a while in the store even when newer phones kept incoming. So, we shouldnt take their words for it exactly. I see that at&t and sprint remains faithful to its prices toward v20, and s7. So thats thats another thing to suspect about.
Lucky me i only paid about 300+ on december anyways o.o

I don't think I would've been eligible anyways. The price is still the same in the upgrade section. The promo might only be for new customers.

What's this for?
Hello everybody, this thread is here for everyone who has dropped their HOX to share their experience.
It's also here to consolidate the dropped phone threads into one since I feel each instance doesn't need
its own thread. So let the sad stories begin.
Discuss the conditions of the drop, the damage, and of course show some images. Did you get a new phone? Repair it yourself? Sucked it up and kept the phone? Let us know in your post.
Now to my main reason for making this thread, as you may have guessed I dropped my phone.
I was getting out of my car and had the phone in my hand and it slipped out and hit the concrete
and slid a little bit. No case on the phone, it is on its way, I actually ordered the case a couple
days before I dropped it.
Functionally the phone works fine, no hardware issues at all.
Cosmetically the right side of the phone is scuffed up with a small bubble under the glass (see
images below) on the bottom right, thankfully not on part of the screen. As well as a few extra
scratches on the screen that are hard to notice with the screen on.
Right now I am thinking of selling the phone for no less than $300 and sell my Captivate (which
is collecting dust) to cover the cost of a new(used) HOX. If you guys have a better suggestion
just let me know.
Now for the pictures:
Full-Size
Full-Size
The 'bubble' under the glass that you can see in the above two images cannot be felt from the surface
(it is smooth to the touch), there is just a small chip on the side.
Full-Size
Full-Size
Full-Size
I assume no case?
The trouble with perfection is that you notice when it is gone.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Nope, no case. I ordered it a couple days ago so it was on its way when I dropped the thing.
Looks like you got pretty lucky, IMO!
Personally, if it is working fine, I would throw a case on it and continue using it.

Yeah, I definitely felt lucky after picking it up off the ground. I was expecting cracked glass but ended
up with what's above. Once the Otterbox gets here I'll throw that on, I think it may cover up most of that
mark on the glass and it'll cover up the scuffs on the side. I may keep it after that, but I'm not sure yet.
I haven't dropped mine yet.
*knocks on wood*
I got an otterbox in the store as I bought the phone anyways lol
Have not dropped my I have a case for it a cheap one but hey it gets the job done Ive dropped it only once but good thing I had the case on it it feel on its corner and then flat on the screen but the case I have bumps up just to the point where it protects it

Dropped mine saturday night. Was sitting on the TOP row of some football bleachers at a local college. It was at least 20 feet. It bounched off the bleachers where my feet were resting and then fell 20 feet into some gravel.
I walked down certain to find a smashed screen. What I found was one tiny scuff on the top corner of the poly case, and a very small chip in the sim tray. No breaks or scratches on the screen. That was a long fall, I was expecting much worse.
I dropped mine today on the asphalt. Face down FLAT. It was a terrible sound and I knew before flipping it over it was done. What I saw was far worse than I could have imagined. The whole screen is cracked. The touchscreen still functions, but there are so many cracks on the screen it's unusable. I'm on the phone with at&t to see what a replacement price would be without insurance. Ill post a picture later.
Just got off the phone while writing this up. The girl said $549 for a replacement. WTF! I can get a new phone on ebay for cheaper. I could get a brand new GNEX for $349 right off the play store. Far cheaper elsewhere if i took the time to look.
I checked prices for the replacement screen and it's about $100 for the lcd and the digitizer or w\e its called. Which I would be willing to do but taking this thing apart is not easy. Saw some youtube videos and they are incredibly complicated IMO.
My phone still hasn't seen any big falls.
Occasional fall of the couch onto wood or carpeted floor.
Still using no case until i drop it bad haha

Just got off the phone with them. They said that phones are sent to Houston TX, the customer pays shipping to TX but HTC covers shipping back to the customer. He said it would be around $200 and it would take approx. 2 weeks. for the whole affair.
1. Do it myself for $100
2. Let HTC do it for $200-220
3. Buy a GNEX $349
4. Use an old iPhone until I can upgrade in Feb (Free)
Right now it's between number 2 and 4. Any input?

1. Fail. I wouldn't touch it.
2. Seems about fair considering insurance deductibles through AT&T are $200. And, if anything goes wrong with your repair, you have HTC to complain to.
3. Way too much money for an old phone.
4. If it's a 4 or 4S, I may lean towards this option OR talk to AT&T about moving your upgrade date up a little.
and
5. You can pay AT&T $250 for an early upgrade fee.
6. Add a line to your family plan (if you have one) for $10 a month and get another One XL.
P.S. I insured through SquareTrade. One year for $50. $99 deductible. Considering I've broken my past two phones, I'm not taking chances.
P.S.S. When did you buy your One X?

why is replacing the screen his self a fail? anyone who can put together a 50 peice puzzle should be able to replace a phone screen without trouble. i haven't yet opened my hoxl but i'm going to eventually. is their something abnormally difficult about this phone? (even with glast and other protective cases) i end up cracking screens on my phones almost ever 4 months. (bike crashes) and self replacing has always been my option because buying new phones ever 4 months is costly. as long as the screen is the same quality as the original it should be the no brainer route to take.

I didn't mean it as an "automatic" fail, but from reading around here it doesn't seem easy. My point is if you break something in the midst of repairing the screen yourself, you are kind of SOL. If I was in the his shoes, I send it to HTC.
I've built computers all my life, but opening this phone and getting it back together is a different ball game. I would venture to guess that there will be something that doesn't go right. To each his own. :highfive:

I got it in May like the week after it came out. I'm just wondering if HTC's repair service is good or not. I don't want to get a phone back that has glue marks/crappy quality repair. I may just rock it out with someones old iPhone 4. I have a good few family members who will be upgrading to the 5 so there will definitely be spare cellphones. I'm just annoyed since development on cm10/aokp just picked up. Things were getting really good.

When I enter my item ID on SquareTrade's website, they offer me a quote of $62, would I be able to just do that?
Then file a claim right away and get it repaired for that plus the deductible. If I do this I wouldn't be losing any
money as long as my Samsung Captivate sells on eBay for as much as I need it to.

You have 90 days from purchase date to purchase a square trade warranty. I'm not positive on their restrictions regarding devices broken before you signed up for your warranty, I.e., it's up to you and your karma God's

So I was minding my own business talking to the best buy mobile guy that was helping me purchase this phone after getting a refund on my galaxy s6 that wasn't working out for me. Then this lady that also worked there comes up and is like "please tell me you aren't leaving the s6 for this thing". Has anyone ever been treated like that before? I found it so tacky.
It's not tacky it's there opinion. I honestly would think the same in my mind why switch from an S6 to something a year old.

I think it is more about the fact that you are "downgrading" since the phones rolling out now have better specs such as octa cores vs quad. However, if you are content with the phone, then I say forget what others think and enjoy it. If you go the full two standard years between phone upgrades, then you should have no worries. Worst case is that you may not see system updates to the latest versions of Android. Of course that is one of the reasons XDA exists...to get a custom of the latest .
Kinda rude in my opinion, What's right for her may not be right for you. I wouldn't put much thought into to be honest.

Yeah.. yet apps today can't even take a advantage of the extra cores lol... Worthless imo.
In my opinion the Samsung S6 sacrifices some S5 features such as sd card slot and removable battery (not to mention losing waterproof feature and usb3) even though camera is better. I would rather have the LG G3 because having sd slot and removable battery are important to me.
I will always pick LG over Samsung. She's just following the heard. But on the plus side she's an android user (+1). At least they did not try to sway you over to the dark side.
How long do you have to try it out? The G4 is suppose to be announced tomorrow (April 28th) and available on Wednesday the 29th. Of course it will have new phone prices vs the $0.01 you probably paid for the G3, but it might be worth considering.
I got this phone from meeting in person, excellent condition. Used it on Cricket network.

Ah..Best Buy
Just want to add my $.02. I bought this phone today myself as a phone to tinker with since my Note 4 is locked down. I picked this up OFF contract at BB for only $399 and I think that's a steal. Walking into the store, I already knew what their website had it listed at, but to test the BB rep, I asked how much the phone was and he quoted me $700. I asked him to ring it up just to check and sure enough, it rang up $399. We can root and CM12.1 this phone but not the Samsungs! This is a fun phone to get my crack flashing addictions satisfied with! Enjoy our our LG G3. It's still a great piece of hardware.

I got my G3 from Best Buy for $.99 when I was updating the AT&T contract. They ended up shipping me a Gold Sprint G3 instead of the Blue AT&T G3 I ordered. Took the gold one to the local BB to swap it out, but they had me call their 1800 support line.
So I'm on the line with support in my truck in the BB parking lot, the girl almost has it done for me to be able to walk back into the store to return my phone and have mine shipped to me when the call was dropped....30 minutes wasted....
So I call back, get a different person...long story short, took 45 minutes on the 2nd call for them to send me an email that contained my return label. Went home, printed the label, went to UPS, and sent my phone back.
4 days later and my Blue AT&T G3 arrived. The day after that a 2nd Blue AT&T G3 arrived at my house. I got 2 Blue G3s for $.99 because Best Buy has a horrible return department and policies. I suppose the hour and 20 minutes between 2 customer service calls, 5 miles worth of gas, and 4 days of extra waiting is worth it for both a free G3 and a 99 cent G3.
Very nice...one to rom and another to....rom! Lol.

Sorry, but I simply cannot give kudos for your actions on this. No matter how terrible their returns department is, or what kind of "on the phone" experience you had with their rep, you are still not entitled to keep both of these devices. Man up, be honest and send one of them back and explain to them their mistake. It may not be a drop in the bucket to them, but it wold be loads of good karma for you my friend.
There are a LOT of ladies like that in this world unfortunately. Especially if they in the upper-level socioeconomic classes.
I believe that's why there are a lot more single men these days... they just don't want to put up with snooty broads.
I purchased my LG G3 D850 from a gentleman on Ebay. It was unusual in the fact that when he listed it, he put no photos of the phone in the listing.
He stated it was in "Pristine" condition and set the bidding on it for $320. I was intrigued, so I sent him a PM via Ebay. He responded quickly, plus it was
serendipitous in the fact that he resides in the same city I do! He told me that he had the phone for only six months and was moving on to something
different. He said it was not because of any issues with the phone... he just wanted to get a different phone. (An uber techie nerd type... he told me.)
I kept the listing in a "Watch" status and noticed an hour before the auction was to expire that only one other person had bid on it and it was at $325.
I waited until about a minute before the end and set my bid at $330, then clicked the "Submit" at 8 seconds prior to end. I WON IT! Woohoo!
The seller agreed to let me pickup the phone locally since he resided about 12 miles across town from where I live. I was very happy to see that the phone
was truly in pristine condition, it looked like it never came out of the box. All original contents and box too. He'd even put a tempered glass screen protector on it.
I felt I made a great purchase indeed.

If it had been just Best Buy I would have. But it wasn't. What makes me keep it was going through the worst AT&T contract upgrade ever. I was shipped the wrong phones 3 times, returned them all. I spent 8 to 10 hours a day for 5 days straight on the line with AT&T's reps, 60% of the time on hold (and the reps spoke in a horrible broken English because they're from India). Then AT&T changed my contract 3 different times, each to a plan that I specifically said that I didn't want. The first misorder, it was 3 G3's on the Next program....that was $400 some odd dollars out of the bank that I couldn't afford which caused 3 different checks for bills to bounce. Took 5 days to get that money back....
I still have two more misorders, three trips to the AT&T Store, another $150 taken from the bank, the Best Buy experience, and a bit of BS dealing with UPS to return the wrong G3. It really is a long story, but I'm keeping the phone due to all the hell I went through with AT&T.
As far as karma is concerned....three weeks ago lightning struck the power line between my house and the street. That only fried all my wall plugs, around 10 thousand in major appliances, my computer (which was uploading some Rin based LP stock kernel commits to github), and caused sparks and smoke to spew from anything connected to a cable line. Oh, and for kicks, hail damage, from the same lighting storm, caused my roof to leak.
Normally I would have returned it, but I spent over 40 hours on the line with AT&T, had money taken that caused bills to bounce, lost cable/internet for a week because I only had the funds to cover electricity or TV after AT&T took money the shouldn't have....Oh, and two months later I now pay $5 more a month and have 2gb less data per month because I just got tired of dealing with AT&T and figured that, after all I'd dealt with, the plan they ended up putting me on was good enough and in budget.
Did all of this mobile because my desktop and two laptops are fried and don't work.
I gave back an S6 and G4, going back to a g3(along with my 6+). They are not worth the extra cash.
Looks like nobody is buying Samsung S6. In the face of pressure from MXPE for sure:

I almost bought the note 5 international version for 589 on eBay the other day. Figured I'd stick with my pure order though but those flagship prices dropping rapidly is great news for consumers.
Big reason I such with the pure is the sd card and non glass black.

Yeah, very much the same reasons except may be I need to add, unlocked bootloader...custom leather back..front speakers...works on all 4 carriers...and may be, just may be, NO BLOAT!...
Or maybe it has nothing to do with the Pure. Maybe it's because more people like and prefer the S6 Edge rather than the regular S6, and they're trying to offload the less popular of the two by putting it on sale.
Just a thought.

Yeah, that's a possibility. But I think Edge is going down too.... MXPE is bringing the house down....
Sales for the S6 have been way down.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2015/05/20/samsung-galaxy-s6-bad-sales/
I dont think it has to do something with the Pure... I can see huge pricedrops on all Early/Mid 2015 Flashship Phones. Galaxy S6 is down to ~399€ including a cashback that samsung offers here. HTC One is at 450€ - All the 32GB version... So the MOto X is not really a "mid-highend phone with a great price" here in germany. I paied 509€ with Moto Maker. Even the S6 Edge is cheaper
I had the Edge...got tired of the feel of the phone in hand. Curved screen is a gimmick for sure. Had I went with the standard screen to begin with I may not have made the jump to the Pure. Glad I had the Edge because I made the jump and the Pure is by far my favorite phone up to this point. But the S6 is now almost 6 months old! In dog years that's like "ancient" LOL! So I think the price drop is more a result of age than anything else. I also think that's a major reason why nearly all manufacturers are making these things less end user serviceable. They figure with new phones coming out every 6 months who's ever going to need to replace a battery? So they just need to make room for the newest phones now.

Actually, age did not matter earlier. For example, I couldn't find unlocked m8 even after 1 year of its release below 500$. Same thing with S5. S6 price drop has been unusual in my tracking of device prices over the years (since 2008).
I have 200GB of storage on my MXPE.
I can have every app, every game, and whole lot of books, music, and movies, with plenty of room for backups and never have to store stuff in the cloud.
Plus I can OTG another 128GB if I feel crazy.

I get that you love your phone but this is just silly... The S6 price drop has nothing to do with the MPX, in fact the MPX will more then likely not even outsell the S6 though its sales arent as good as previous years, samsung kind of canabalized the S6 sales by releasing the edge at the same time as the S6, also they're about to do the same with the edge after releasing the edge+, but theres also another phone coming out that will outsell every phone out there, you might have heard of it, its called a new iPhone...by your logic the MPX should drop in price too actually all phones should drop in price, since the iPhone will kill everyone elses sales LOL...

Yes, it likely has everything to do with iPhone release.
But in the Android market, MXPE sells for 400$ and is a great phone. Why would anybody spend 600+ if they are looking for an Android phone? I never said MXPE has or will outsell S6. All I said was that S6 may be seeing pressure from MXPE in the Android market. If you don't want the Apple ecosystem, you have every reason to land on MXPE instead of S6. MXPE is just so much a better phone for less. Samsung knows it.

I'd agree with you the MXP is a better phone now but here's the thing that price reduction is from a ebay store, its not a corporate samsung store, u walk into one they'll still charge you the 600+ retail...so while samsung says this is the retail, individuals can choose to sell the device for as high or as low as they want...so my point is i guess this reduction really has nothing to do with Samsung feeling pressure from Moto and more that the individual seller just wanted to get rid of his own S6 stock.
Probably has more to do with this... BTW on that sale there is no warranty from manufacturer...

You don't say? There will be a S7 in the Spring?
Seriously the phone markets are in flux right now. First, upgrades are pretty minimal. Second, subsidies are non existent for man. As such, people are starting to think twice about buying $800 devices, especially when many of their bucket wish list items are getting removed.
So it is no surprise that people are starting to not upgrade for big bucks and hold off or looking maybe to spend 40% less and still enjoy an upgrade.

Thanks OP, but this thread has served, well it has no purpose.............
Thread Closed and Thank you.
So last week, certainly by my own fault, my Moto X Pure took a swim. It got quite hot very quickly and then it was toast. No worries though. I bought the 24 Month Accidental Damage Protection Plan. At most, I was going to be out the $50 deductible and a phone for a short time, but that's the price you pay for diving in a pool and forgetting that your phone was in your pocket, right?
*sigh*
So upon placing my first phone call to Motorola, they looked up my IMEI, determined that I had the ADP, but that water damage wasn't covered. This, of course, angered me to no end because I specifically remembered this exact graphic from their website when I bought it.

Unless I'm misreading that, it says pretty specifically that liquid damage is covered. So they escalated my issue to another department, who got back to me the next day, informing me that the agent was mistaken and that I should be able to use my warranty through the website.
So I did. I filled out the request form, which was actually a lot simpler than talking to someone on the phone, and I was given an RMA. I was charged the $50 deductible and a $100 hold was placed on my card until I returned the other phone. Perfect, right?
Well, for about three days, the status of my RMA sat in pending.
And then I got this grammatical nightmare of an email.

So I called that number within seconds and got a rep who told me that gentleman who canceled my RMA was mistaken, but he assured me that they'd make up for the error by waiving the $100 hold and only charging me the $49. He said that in 24 hours, I'd receive a code that would allow me to use Moto Maker to place a new order and it should ring up at $0.
24 hours later, nothing.
*sigh*
Called them. This rep said that everything looked good on my RMA and that the codes can take up to 48 hours. Fine.
24 hours later, still nothing.
Called them again! This red said that everything looked good on my RMA and that the codes can take up to 72 hours. WTF? It seems a day keeps getting added.
Finally, this evening, my code showed up in my email. Perfect, right? Of course not, because the code was only valid for $399, and did not include any of the add-ons, such as the storage and the fact that I had a wood back. So I called them again, got it rectified, got my order placed.

I am not convinced that everything is completely done on your end OP. Update me in 2 weeks when the order actually ships and arrives then I'll be relieved & happy for you. I'm not speaking negatively on you, I do doubt Motorola that much.
You have to figure.. the shipment date is probably the same for others who are ordering the phone. It's still a newly introduced phone in high demand that probably many are purchasing/customizing, so of course it won't ship asap. Without any customization ("base models"), it'd probably be shipped asap. I guess it's open to argument whether you should be given special treatment of a quick build & delivery as a replacement phone vs. someone who placed an order of a custom build prior to you and has to wait the same period. I wouldn't exactly fault Motorola for that, as it's a custom build vs. other manufacturers having just one build type that'd be quick to deliver. Would it be any different to someone with SquareTrade being credited back for their original phone, which they'd in turn use to order the phone through MotoMaker again?

I think you've made an excellent point.
I've used Asurion, Square Trade and now Moto Care. I can say Square Trade is the best of the 3, after reading the Moto Care experience here. The Square Trade check, could be used for a different device, which adds an advantage. You can even pocket the money, they don't care. Asurion will scour the earth for a refurb and Moto is going to give you another Moto.

Just want to add fuel to the fire. I have Moto G 3gen bought from Motorola UK customised one. I had to wait for 13 days for phone to arrive but that's fine only 2days overdue. My problem started when I decided to cancel my order only 2 days after. **** it there is no way I had to wait for 11 days! Then it would appear very simple because I had to call them ask for return lable for 24-72 and job done. No way! I am waiting now for 224 hours to be precised. 2 chats 3 calls and every time tey would add some more more and more time to wait. They promised me things like : next day, its on the way, we are sorry let me just bump you up in the queue and so on. I have decided to write them official letter with consumer protection act added on it and what are my right and they responsibilities so i got reply from them same day. At least something I can have track of because now it's sitting in my email. Story is not over yet 24 days passed. I honestly don't want ever to make another order from Motorola . II MA considering moto x pure to buy BUT I seriously put off by the whole thing and never want to go through that again. I think I am just going to get Nexus 5x for the peace of mind. I really like my phone but I hate anything related to moto costumer service. Why I have impression it has to do with Lenovo acquisition.

I got a couple new ones. But, I got plenty refurbs that I had to send back. It's a crap shoot. In one instance, I got 4 bad refurbs in a row. By the time I got a working phone, it was 2 weeks later and the reason I got a good one was because I went into a corporate sprint store and told them what happened. They personally gave me the new phone. It was ridiculous. The cost of their insurance isn't worth the hassle of guess of the replacement will work...unless your phone is lost or stolen. Plus, if you swap carriers, they're not going to cover you.

I made the mistake of buying moto care with my order. I've chatted with 3 reps to get refunded for it. The first said I had to wait until the order was delivered. So, I waited. The next told me that I'm going to be refunded and then I got an email with instructions to RMA my device. The next told me he fixed the previous one's mistake and I'd be notified in 24 hours. Well, it's been over 24 hours and no notification.

I feel your pain. I've had my phone for 8 days. Something is definitely wrong with it when it comes to data. Its very slow and sometimes it completely drops off. It is not my network or area. I have talked to 7 people, chatted with one, and wasted 100 minutes of my life so far just trying to get them to ship out a replacement under the 14 day warranty. I am now at the point I have to wait for a call back monday or tuesday because my case is "escalated". I think they are waiting for me to be out of the 14 days. It's a shame. I had a problem with my Turbo and It was the easiest replacement ever. 10 minutes and I had a new phone coming. Its gotta be a lenovo thing. I think I'll be buying nexus's from now on. I'd just sell this thing in a month but I spent the money on the moto care.
@WilliamRBR just out of curiosity was you device rooted? I know it doesn't change the process but I want to make sure they won't give us the run around when it comes to warranty
I used Asurion 2 times for cracked screens on two different phones and I feel that I received new phones. If they were refurbished it was very hard to tell as they looked and worked like new. My experience with Asurion has been very easy, smooth, and quick for warranty service. I do recommend them. Also, if I am not mistaken, they are the only one of the three being discussed here that honors stolen and lost phones! So you pay more for the deductible but it is worth it if you think someone might steal your phone. Dropped Square Trade and went with Moto for my Pure. Hope I never have to use it! Wife and daughter still on Square Trade.
I'm really on the fence about ordering a OnePlus 7 Pro. I have a 512gb Note9 with an encrypted bootloader now and I'm bored out of my freaking mind.
I've been watching Swappa closely, just to see what is trending. I actually started watching Swappa for a deal on a Pixel 3XL and kinda ended up in the OnePlus 7 Pro section too. If I order a Oneplus 7 Pro I will get it direct from OnePlus just for warranty peace of mind.
But I see a disturbing trend of all the OnePlus 7 Pro's going up for sale rather quickly. Pretty common to see "only used for 2 days" or even "used once or twice" and then boxed back up promptly for resale..... WHY?
Why is everybody using this device once or twice and then immediately trying to sell if off? Got me pretty concerned about making a $782.19 purchase. It was a lot easier to stomach when a OnePlus was only $500.
Why don't you ask them? There could be many reasons. I'm very happy with mine, I would have no idea why someone else isn't.
I guess the best you can do is watch some YouTube reviews, read about common issues and concerns,I don't use swappa but maybe you could message a seller there and ask,
Id imagine people just find the phone too big, don't like the curved display, most likely something to do with the design I'd say.

I try not to spam their listing with questions when I have no intention of actually purchasing the item. I also couldn't expect them to answer candidly on the same page they are tying to recoup $700 on.
Whenever possible I follow their XDA names/links and send a PM asking. No responses so far. I did see one guy state he was selling because he was just to "entrenched in the Apple Ecosystem" but if he was going to keep an Android the OnePlus 7 Pro is "the phone to have". Then an hour later he purchased a Pixel 3XL in another listing I was also watching. :silly:
Pretty stupid on their part. They just return the phone in the first 14 days and not lose $250 from the resale cost. I have patience for stupidity.

I did see one of the sellers say he was trying to sell it on Swappa because OnePlus charges a 15% restocking fee. If that is true its news to me.

I've been watching YouTube videos and reviews and unboxings and scouring the internet pretty much nonstop since the release. I'm not worried about ghost touches as I never use NFC. Size, weight and curved edges are all the bees knees to me. I'm an HTC Max user from way back and always buy the biggest screen available in any line.
The only real deal breaker problem I could see is if the camera produced literally unusable pictures. I take LOTS of pictures daily. They don't have to be better than the Samsung's or the Pixels (I've had both). But they do need to be worth keeping. I'm afraid the only way I will be able to answer that question is to see for myself in person ie order one.
I will say I am pretty picky about the color though. I don't really care for the Nebula Blue much but I REALLY want that 12GB ram...

Due to the number of people who have tried unlocks, etc and had issues I would be, at least, looking for photos or video of the device working before you stump over the cash but yeah, it's a great phone so watch some reviews and if you like what you see, go for it
The 12gb ram model was the one OnePlus sent out as review units/influencers/promoters. They could just be u loading. Also people buy phones without checking compatibility, maybe not for their carrier. If not on T-Mobile there's always some issue, i.e. Sprint not working at all, att not WiFi calling, Verizon cdma_less issues. Could be any number of issues but don't let that worry you. Same thing happens with every phone that is released. I personally sold my s10e after 3 days just because, there was no "I need to keep tilhis phone" feeling. My op7 pro gives me that feeling , it's one of the best phones I've ever used, and I replaced my pixel 3 xl with it.

Well, that's the big decision I've been trying to make. Its between the Pixel 3XL or the OnePlus 7 Pro. I just feel you are getting so much more with the 7 Pro. No regrets leaving the 3XL?

Think I'm gonna pull the trigger! If you don't mind me asking what color/variant did you guys get? Anything you would change now that you've had it a while?

None at all. Pixel 3xl performance is garbage. Hiccups, stuttering was terribly annoying. Only good things were camera and software day 1. I'm like those swappa sellers you're skeptical about, I change my phone monthly sometimes. In 4 years I've made 90 sales, 60 were my personal use device. The longest I've kept a phone was OnePlus 6 for 6 months. Ill never fo back to iOS, and in Android world OnePlus is my favorite. I don't use camera just for pics of the kids. I NEVER take selfies.
I ended up with the 8gb blue direct from oneplus. I wanted the 12gb but it was 14 days until shipping and couldn't wait. I got the T-Mobile gray on lau ch day but hated the software/sim lock/ single sim, but the 12gb would have gotten here after my return period was up with T-Mobile. Still no regrets, I don't think it would have bee. Any big change in performance. I'm still surprised to how many apps are still where I left them even several hours later.

Just do it. My sequence was Pixel 3XL > S10+> OnePlus 7 pro
I just gave one UI other chance as you see, but stock Android and OOS(near stock) are way better, especially together with a hardware top of the line (OnePlus 7pro).

Wow you really got that Swappa ? down!
So I guess I need to decide if I go with 12GB and wait 12 days for delivery and then have to try to cover up that nebula blue with a skin or something. Or go with Grey , get it in 2 days and don't have to worry about covering up that blue. Decisions decisions....

I completely agree about the Pixel 3 XL performance, complete garbage. At the time I had the Pixel 3 XL, T-Mobile OnePlus 6t, and unlocked OnePlus 6t from OnePlus. I sold the Pixel. The only thing that phone has going for it was the camera, and like you said day one software updates, but the performance is horrible on that phone.

They only do that in the US... frustrating yeah but 15% of the most expensive phone at $750 is just $112 so I still ask, why sell it on swappa and take a $200 hit? I think you said he was selling for $500? Doesn't make much sense to me, he'd still get more money back just returning it.

Your going to have to cover either phone. They are WAY too slippery to really use naked. I used to use my phones naked (I've never dropped a phone) but I don't trust these phones sine teh OP5 and OP6 and not OP 7Pro.
I've always had black or grey phones but the blue is amazing. I agree it is so slippery being olephobic gorilla glass. I hate to cover it. It like a minimal perimeter case.
Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
I got the blue one
Why not use the included case? It's a perfect fit and doesn't cover up the beautiful back or the light around the edge. I've always put a case on my phones and have never cracked or broken a phone in any way. This bad boy is slippery and I have no problem or issue using the clear case!!

I got the blue one from T-mobile, I always get blue if it's available for the phone I am interested in since it's my favorite color. I too sometimes switch phones monthly which I have the option of doing if I want since I am a Jump On Demand customer with T-Mobile and have that option. Longest I have kept a phone in the last year is almost 2.5 months.
I switched from the Note 9. 90hz screen made it a keeper for me. Camera is not bad as some ppl make it seem but of course the Note 9 camera is better. Haptic feedback is also better but still not on the same level like on the iPhone and Pixel yet. I've also bought the Nillkin Type C Wireless Charging USB C Receiver for wireless charging and Elevation Lab USB-C CordDock as a secondary even though honestly I really didn't need to purchase that as the wireless reciever works. Battery is the same as on the Note 9. The only thing I miss is one handed mode. Stock android and or Oxygen OS should really develop a one handed mode since these phones are getting larger each year.
