[Completed] Knox tripped trying to root Grand Prime SM-G530T - XDA Assist

Classic rookie mistake: didn't fully read the step by step tutorial for rooting your phone and tripped Knox by downloading cf-auto-root before reading that it will trip Knox.
So now I got problems.
Brief backstory: 1) changed carriers, left t-mobile for verizon, got stuck with a new Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530T; 2) couldn't afford verizon after losing job, canceled service, stuck with 2 new Galaxy s7's; 3) signed up for Obama Phone, stuck with ZTE PHONE.
DEVICES
T-MOBILE SAMSUNG GALAXY GRAND PRIME SM-G530T
2 VERIZON GALAXY S7s
ZTE N817
Wanted to try and root my Grand Prime to add custom ROM and get a code to allow the phone to be used on a different carrier.
What I did (I think)
Downloaded Odin on PC
Downloaded and installed SuperSU on Grand Prime via Odin
Downloaded and ran CF-Auto-Root on Grand Prime via Odin
Downloaded Kingroot App on Grand Prime
Downloaded Root Checker App on Grand Prime Downloaded GwizRomSM-G530TV1.1 on PC and copied extracted files to Grand Prime.
What happened
Tripped Knox
Having trouble rooting
Root apps get blocked
ZTE phone barred from using data to access the intent without wi-first (this may be simply because I bought a top-up card and there are problems with Obama Phones not applying top-ups to data). Internet searches are redirected to "barred.virginmobileusa./sorter/[email protected]".
I don't want to be a slave to t-mobile!
Please help!!
Thanks,
Joe

Hello and welcome to xda-assist,
we don't do technical support here we just redirect you the most suitable forum, so I ask you to refer to the general help section..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
By the way, try finding the device specific forums too, a easy way is to type "your phone model" + xda on Google, there's also a lot information available.
Good luck

[Completed] [Q] Is there any other way to 1 Tap root aside from King Root on my Grand Prime?

I'm wondering if I can root my phone (Grand Prime SM-G5030AZ) again in a different one tap root way (no pc access) other than other than Kingroot. If yes, the other way will let me use supersu right away. Then maybe afterwards I can do a full unroot using supersu, possibly removing the thing which Kingroot did, leaving my phone saying custom in about phone (voiding the warranty and software updates). The main reason why I'm asking this is because Kingroot does not install the latest binaries and that's why people have issues getting supersu as superuser from Kinguser. I'm thinking that if I root my phone with another one tap root which has the ability to use supersu, I will have my binaries at the latest. Therefore maybe the Kingroot binaries that were leftover will be replaced. This would mean that if I do a complete unroot with supersu, there will be no traces of root at all in my phone after a factory data reset. But I don't know if this is all true. Can someone, please shed some light onto this. Thanks for everyone's great work and I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys.

[Question] Rooting a SM-T817V and SM-N920V without tripping KNOX or using ext. Device

So i own a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920V) and a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (SM-T817V) Both sold by Verizon and both on Android OFW 6.0.1
I've been reading a lot of posts on XDA saying that rooting these devices could potentially Brick the devices should KNOX be tripped (Because AT&T and Verizon are jackasses).
I was wondering if this has changed recently or not (I know that KingRoot fails completely cause i tried today).
Also due to my PC being out of commision the only methods i have for rooting are those that can be done on the device itself without the help of USB external devices such as a PC.

Root my Samsung Galaxy S7 Sm-G930W8 7.0

Hi there, I am wondering if anyone knows if I can root my Samsung Galaxy S7 7.0, model number SM-G930W8.
Carrier is Rogers, purchased from T-booth.
I am looking to retrieve data I have lost. I tried Dr. Fone but they cannot root an android of 7.0 and said if I can get my phone rooted by another way I can still use their recovery tool.
It seems like I have to download Odin. Just want to make sure I do this correctly.
Thank-you in advance!
Have you successfully rooted your device? I have the same device and problem.
There is another user who rooted an s7 (different model from the Rogers/Telus/Bell version) and used Dr Fone which resulted in a fingerprint sensor error: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/finger-print-sensor-responding-using-dr-t3735296

Help rooting Samsung Galaxy sky SM s320vl

Okay I'm a newbie at this. I'm a pro at windows computers but I've only been messing around with Android for about a year. So when I bought this phone it was from straight talk slash TracFone it is unlocked. I bought it to use with SafeLink service. Anyway so I bought it as a Samsung Galaxy sky SM s320vl but whenever I do a hard reboot here is the info it gives me
MMB29M/S320VLUDU3AQF2
Samsung/ j3ltetfnvzw
the firmware that I found on chain fire says s320vludu2apj3
Again when I bought my phone I did not buy it as a J-3 it was just advertised as Samsung Galaxy sky sms320vl but when I logged in to Google the first time with this phone Google recognized it as a J-3 2016 model so is that what this phone actually is and do I use this firmware that I found on Chainfire? Also am I going to have to use windows with the Odin tool to do this? I'm not trying to do any thing special just the phone so I can go in and uninstall apps that I don't want Samsung App stuff like that so I'm not trying to flash the phone with a special package I just want to root it. Sorry for the long post I just want it to be clear what kind of phone I have and what firmware I need for it. Also, to root the phone I just need a firmware file, the windows drivers and the odin tool correct? Thanks a lot for your reading this post I really appreciate it.

How to unroot Samsung Galaxy

Hello everyone,
I have a matter about unrooting a smartphone. I already have rooted my Samsung Galaxy S5 device with Samsung Odin which downloaded from https://odindownload.com/ and it was succeeded. Nowadays, due to some reasons, I need to unroot the device correctly. Though I tried to find enough details about the matter it was not completely achieved. Please help me someone with details or with a link to refer.
Thank you all.
