E: failed to mount /preload (No such file or directory) - XDA Assist

My phone started going slow, so I wanted to do a factory settings reset. Android recovery mode, I press on wipe data/factory reset and it says E: failed to mount /preload (No such file or directory). Read a bit about this issue and many people said to reinstall firmware. I downloaded latest firmware from the web and installed it using Odin, no issues with installation or anything and then when I go back to android recovery and press on wipe data/ factory reset I get the same thing: E: failed to mount /preload (No such file or directory). I don't know what to do, I'm desperate, my phone is a brick now.

The phone cant be recongized from any pc
Go to download mode, then only connect to usb. don't connect the usb before going to download mode. once you connect the usb, start odin and see if it is detected.
if not, then you will need to take the sdcard out and plug it in to laptop directly and then copy a new rom. use a rom that does a full wipe (DDLF2 or XXKPE) instead of a custom rom.
Also, try to fix permissions in recovery mode and see if that helps.

E:failed to mount /preload (no such file or directory)

I just bought this Note 4 and I am doing a factory reset but I get this error when I choose wipe data/factory reset.
My phone shows as follows
-- preload checkin...
E:failed to mount /preload (No such file or directory)
Data wipe complete.
The phone is wiped and it seems to operate normally, but this error bugs me, anyone have any ideas? My assumption from looking around the web is that this phone has been rooted before, if so how do I reset things back to factory? How can I tell if it's still rooted?
FYI, I have updated to Lollipop and I am familiar with using ODIN. Once again this is a Note 4.
Thanks in advance...

[Completed] Myphone Uno E:failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)

Please help me. I am trying my best but I cant do this anymore.
In the past my phone was always updating. I don;t know how it happened. But it started when I updated my android. I just saw that my device was taking too long to boot. I was on the four concentric circles logo of android 6. I used it for quiet a time. Then it ended up to bootloop. That time I don't know that I need to wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache/ wipe cache partition. I search this on youtube after experiencing the error bellow.
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_install
E: Can't mount /cache (Invalid argument)
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: failed to mount /cache/recovery/last_log
-and then all of the lines just jumbled again
same as the one on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/help-nexus-5-bricked-clearing-cache-t2564509
I tried to follow the advice by typing the code "fastboot flash cache cache.img"
unfortunantely I was not able to find any cache.img that is suitable for my Android. I am running on 6.0.1 MMB29Q.
I was looking for any sprout 4 stock rom here for my uno but i can't find anything. I even tried to fastboot flash another rom but it failed. I also tried to flash using an sd card but its not working.
when I am trying to adb sideload on the other hand, it would only take about a minute or two then it would go back to bootloader mode.
PLEASE HELP ME REGARDING THIS MATTER. PLEASE POST LINKS where i can find cache.img for android 6.0.1 MMB29Q. for MYPHONE UNO If ever there were other solutions please post. I really need your help guys.

no possible way to mount everything in my phone (orangefox)

so I was trying to flash custom rom and everything go just fine and then for the flashing repartitoner part my phone just restart itself for some reason after the flashing and I thought everything should've been normal but it's not for the part that I flash customrom.zip I started noticing "can't mount /data /system /system_root /cache (invalid argument) and I think it's easy to find tutorial how to fix them on youtube
here's what I found on youtube and tried
1.wipe everything (not working and can't even mount anything)
2.format data(yep still impossible it's just red and say "failed to mount"
3.change filesystem(yep still impossible)
my phone is samsung j7 2016 (j7xelte) or sm-j710f
here's the clip (of me trying every ways to fix the problem
sorry if my english is bad
this is the log I got from advanced > copy log
nvm fixed using twrp/orangefox terminal and delete /data /cache /system /vendor folder and then try to "repair partition" and now it says that it's presented now
