best xperia m2 roms(advice) - Sony Xperia M2

Hello,i would be very happy if you could rank custom roms for xperia m2 according their performance and the camera!
Thank you.Feel free to comment your opinion!

I tried not all but several of them and here the things I faced
Resurrection Remix-N and Lienage OS 14.1 have nice featues but I got battery drain. Not like getting zero in hours but it took 1 day to 100 to 15. It is not bad I know but I dont use my phone a lot. Normally it tooks 2 and a half day. And some nights I got 10% drop which is not cool.
Omni 7 beta4 I got sim not detected error sometimes and I needed to reboot. But the battery was good.
Omni 7 beta2 noting bad. Everything worked perfectly.
Cm13 Again works perfect.
Currently I use CM13 without an issue. I recommend both CM13 and Omni 7.1 beta2.
Have a nice day
dokuz

for me itryed rr n and z5 style and cm14.1. but i back to use the latest stock rom 182 for many reasons i can tell you some of them:
1. in the stock rom you can use both sim for 3G net.
2. the future of the stock rom camera and its fun.
3. less bugs than any rom.
4. when you are in the stock rom. you feel that you have a sony mobile.
iam using now z5 latest launcher and fixing gps by using gps.conf from another rom. replacing the dialer app and contacts app with cm12.1 one.
disactive the unwanted apps like g+ and other google apps to make the phone faster and its usefull....thats it.

Hello ,
I am also looking for a ROM to increase the performance of my xperia M2 I often play with so I need power, battery, fluidity and stability! I'm lost with all these ROMs ?
thank you !

For me only disadvantage of Nougat roms is Xposed, but i loved 7.1 anyway. Currently using Ressurection Remix Beta 2

iam back to use z5 4.6 now

if you want sony features and flawless rom, xperia z5 style.
if you want pure android experience and performance, great battery, good camera, go with omnirom beta 5. with f2fs, your phone is gonna be really fast (also you will not have disorty low dB speaker compared to stock, so you can hear your phone ringing )

Most Stable Nexus 5 Nougat (Android 7) Custom ROM?

Hi there,
What is the Most Stable Nexus 5 Nougat (Android 7) Custom ROM?
I try to read the latest post messages, but I don't know.
Thanks
Hey
I've been using Nitrogen OS for the past two months and can tell you that it's a stable ROM.
I've been using Fake Nexus for a while now after going through a few of the available Nougat roms and it's my favourite so far. Comes with Google apps pre-installed plus the new Pixel Launcher, the installation method is similar to flashing a stock image instead of a custom ROM as a zip and an upgrade from Android 6.0.1 worked for me without losing my data, like upgrading a nexus 5x from Android 6.0.1 to Android 7.0.
Also after experimenting a bit and getting the kernel settings right (I am using the blu.spark kernel) I got Multirom working correctly and I have CM13 and NetHunter as secondary roms, fully functional with their own kernels.
I'm pretty sure all the Android 7.0 roms use the same AOSP repo for the main build and only a small handful of customisations. It's a mater of personal preference really, all roms I tested seemed equally stable and had the same bugs (camera video issue etc). I chose Fake Nexus because it's the closest to a factory image and the only one I got working with Multirom side by side with android 6.
My advice, if your Nexus 5 is your daily driver don't use an android 7 rom as your primary rom, the video recording bug alone can be a pain.
Good luck!
Thanks for your feedback.
The video recording bug is still present in all rom ?
What settings did you use for Blu spark
Try Pure Nexus
As far as I know the Camera bug is there for all ROMS when using the stock Google Camera app. A few ROMS claim that using a different app works but personally I haven't tested them. My nexus 5 is not my main device (I have a 5x as well) so I don't use it's camera that much. Also I believe the original android 7 port came from Santhosh M as found on this rom here so if he manages to resolve this then it will be implemented in all other ROMS.
About the blu.spark kernel I installed with all default choices through the Aroma installer except the addition of DT2W. I'm also using kernel adiutor for in-ROM customisations but so far I didn't need to change anything from the defaults.
I was thinking about installing Pure Nexus as well but now that I finally have all 3 ROMS I wanted working I'm afraid I'm going to mess it up. When I added Miui from this thread it messed up all secondary ROMS. I could boot into the main ROM which for me is Android 7.0 but all secondary ROMs would get stuck on the google screen and after about a minute the phone would reboot and go straight into recovery. I think it had something to do with the Miui kernel but I never actually managed to figure it out.
So it's October 23rd, is the video and Camera bug still present on all ROMs?
I use this https://plus.google.com/109509643115521921407/posts/1R42n7pzfbP
It may look sketchy because it's not on XDA but I've been using it and believe me, everything works including Google Camera's video recording.
Previously I was on Nitrogen OS and I loved it because of the OTA updates but I don't like to have to find workarounds for my camera needs.
I've tested most of Nougat ROMs for N5:
Santosh, FakeNexus, PureNexus, NitrogenOS, BOKROM and itigr.
The only real daily driver as of today, Oct 23th is FakeNexus.
The others are good, lots of customization, but too many bugs here and there.
FakeNexus is stable, very battery friendly (some of the list above had battery drain issues) and is the easiest to install and configure, but lacks the customizations of the others.
Nitrogen is the one if you want a ROM with many features with that stock feeling, customization options are integrated on Android configuration menu.
PureNexus also has lots of customization, but on a different approach, it's more like AOSP and customization features are on their app.
Fake Nexus all the way. I used it for 1 day it is very stable rom. NO FC, noticeable lags, etc.
But I need to go back to MM stock because of the battery. Battery drain too fast average use only can hold for 5-6 hours.

I've tried most of these ROMs on my phone and have settled on Fake Nexus. It is very similar to what the Google Pixel set up is and I just love it. I've found it to be very stable on my phone.

I haven't noticed the battery drain on the Fake Nexus ROM at all. In fact, I'm staying with the Nougat ROM because it doesn't have the battery drain that I was experiencing on any of the Marshmallow ones.

hmm odd. some ppl on fake nexus thread say the same (battery drain). maybe not all experiencing it. will try again when have free time
I agree with the Fake Nexus is the most stable one. I do get 3:45min SOT most of the time from 100% down to 1%. I only get 3->3:15 SOT on stock marshmallow. The phone is aggressively used for online gaming via Data using VPN lol
What about the Octo N ROM? So far I've found it to be really good for me with the elemental x kernel, battery life is great, I love my customization options and the ROM is smooth, I typically use lower CPU frequencies max is like 1574 so I don't worry too much about my phone dying. Here's some screenshots of my setup. I'd like to try the fake ROM tho, it's getting really good reviews and I like that.

Fake Nexus doesn't have root option and if you love customization, you will be out of luck.
how about Euclidean OS?
and which roms is odex?
I was just on Fake Nexus, loved the Stock Google feel with all the Pixel gimmicks, but I just went back to Pure Nexus as I love some customization options and want to use Substratum.. Can't stand all the white ui on 7.1 and substratum wasn't working on it yet

POLL: to upgrade to Nougat rom or to stay with Pure Nexus Marshmallow??

I've been watching the nougat forums, and the stability of the nougat roms seem to be getting better and better. I am tempted to try one but at the same time, my current setup with Pure Nexus Marshmallow is working nearly flawlessly, with less bugs (camera, hdr, shooting video, etc).
For those of who have made the jump, has it been worth it? Are the improvements enough to justify the many hours needed to setup after doing a clean install?
I am most tempted to upgrade if nougat will actually improve battery life. Has battery life improved from your experience?
Thank you all in advance!
Hi ggoomani It depends on use, time, setup, apps etc. Quick multi tasking, split screen, clear all recent apps, bundled notifications, reply from notification and other new features in Nougat are great, in my opinion it well-worth the time spent on upgrade.
Hi,
Same here. Looking for a stable ROM out there with a better battery backup. But no one is commenting about battery time. Also need to know which is best Custom ROm out there? Myself thinking of CM 14.1 or with AOSP 7.1.1 or DARK ROM . Please suggest me for the same if anything is there out there better than that ?
THanks
I am also on stock marshmallow ROM and by help of few of system mods like custom kernel, sound mod , Xposed I am getting good performance and stability In this ROM. I am confused to upgrade Android N or not, because N is in Development mod, not fully bug free.

Is it worth upgrading to nougat ? (opo)

I was wondering whether its worth upgrading to nougat . I've already tried using a few of them but reverted due to bugs .
List of roms I've tired
Lineage os (Reverted due to system crash during high performance, Internet connectivity loss , )
Resurrection remix (I was getting only 1hr 30 min of SOT)
Cosmic os (its very new and I found it too buggy )
I've tried clean flashing too but nothing seems to work . I really like the new features but I do not like to sacrifice battery life ,performance.
Should I just stick to Sultan cm 13 or are you guys optimizing your phones in some better way ,please do mention them .Thankyou

Well, for me there is no problem with Nougat.I don't care about xposed,so no issue for me.
Even though a custom kernel can help you with all those issues,I would highly recommend try this,

Currently I'm getting good results with Nitrogen os ,using lightning kernel .Its giving me 5 and about a half hour of SOT will wait more to see how it goes
I was thinking about flashing tuga power but I've been using this guys review as a base before flashing my ROM ,and I felt it was a bit light on features

Yeah, that's because it gives preference to battery life, performance and daily usage more than features. But it has all needed features like magisk+safetynet pass+Viper4Arise and much much more.
Not to mention,it is the most popular rom for OPO.
Give a try yourself rather than just watching lame reviews.
I've used Nitrogen os too,it is nothing but great .
I tried almost all nougat roms, unfortunately, with all the roms I faced duplicate contact issue (whatsapp and google contacts are shown separately in contacts ) and I could not find any solution. Sultan's cm13 is the best ROM for me till now for my usage.
I'm on RR and my SOT is 4+ hours.
I was about to ask the same question. I'm on Sultan's CM13 ROM for a long time now and I was wondering if it is any good going through the hassle of backing up stuff just to get to the newest android version.
I was thinking about SlimRom 7 or idprophecy's LineageOS14.1.

I've tried mostly all 7+ ROMs ,theyr still not up to the mark .Lineage is a good all rounder ,
Resurrection has lots of customizable options but battery life isn't up to the mark (I tried twice was getting about 1hr 30 min sot on 90% charge )
Nitrogen works quite well ,and I found it to work the best for me ,but the frequency of updates is a bit low .You can customise it good enough .
I found cosmic os to be the prettiest of them all but it has a few bugs and the frequency of updates is a bit low
Tuga power also seems to be a good pick
U need to also consider sacrificing your xposed modules if you want the taste of nougat
I suggest you hold of for a month or two and then consider updating

Which "Stable" ROM is better for everyday use.

Hello everyone.
I've had my Mi4c for a more than 2 years now. I've been using Xiaomi.eu 8.1.2.0 ROM for a while and I realized that the phone gets hot even with just a light web-browsing. This started to bother me recently. So here I am asking if anyone can please suggest a "stable" ROM [or at least, one that doesn't need to be updated every week or so].
My usage of the phone is pretty basic: emails, calls and sms.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
From my experience CM and MIUI based on Nougat are inconsistent in terms of battery life. You can try MIUI based on 5.1 from Xiaomi.eu or RR. I highly recommend the last one with the exception of camera and mobile signal(optimal yet weaker than on MIUI).
I didn't have heating problems so I can't give my advice on that.
I would say the race for a stable Rom never ends.
*Also you can try MIUI based on Nougat + Charged Mod from Xda. Seems to improve battery life by 20% at least.
Have a nice day!

Thank you for your prompt reply.
So are you suggesting that I should stick to Android 5 and/or 6?
What about TeamSuperluminal latest stable? Is it any good?
I would suggest you start with 6.12.22. See if it does the job for you. Then upgrade to one of the MIUI Nougat variants, I suggest you wait the next week weekly rom because at the moment there is a bug involving Google play Store and Nougat MIUI rom.
The transition from 6.12.22 to Nougat MIUI needs to be done via updater. After this, gone is your twrp as well as unlocked bootloader. Apply for unlock, unlock it, get twrp 3.0.3.0, flash it, get the latest build of RR 5.8.2.
6.12.22 - Nougat MIUI - RR 5.8.2. You can stop at any point in this transition if the rom fits your needs.
*I tried CM 13 from TS. I got 3,5 hours of SOT, medium to heavy use. Camera performance and mobile signal are mediocre. I would recommend RR 5.8.1 over this {+ it does not lock bootloader and its based on 7. 1.1.}

I recommend at least trying TeamSuperluminal CM13 123116 build. I have been running it for almost 2 months now. Very stable, good battery life, and overall faster than MIUI. I have no problems with MIUI, but 2GB RAM in my phone just wasn't enough for MIUI.

Mokee7.1.1 rom
Mokee nougat rom very good for daily using, battery life preformance good.I'm test for 1 week.i saw only 1,2 problem, torch not working on notification bar, camera crashes after using hdr on(after taking a lot of photos)

I've been using slimrom 1.7 for about 5 months now and i have to say that it's great and stable enough for daily use. Miui is just not for me and I plan to upgrade to aicp when i got some extra free time to spare.
Overall, i like the simple approach to make the rom light. The only hiccup sometimes is the camera and flashlight, it won't open. But reboot fixes it.

Mi4c Released 2015, September
Are you coming from the future ? Interesting !!! Finally I'm really lucky to met someone from the future . yeah XD

Which is your preferred ROM for reception and stability

Of all the different releases of android for the Z3, which do you prefer for reception and stability/reliability? Is it kitkat, lollipop or marshmallow? Version number would be helpful as well.
I am on Lineage OS 14.1 by @xkeita. This is most stable ROM for me now. Even more stable then Stock Marshmallow
Lineage OS 14.1 by @xkeita too
Existenz ROM MM. It's basically stock Sony MM with many personalization. Best ROM right now, best battery life and 0 warm up. Unfortunally, right now, all Nougat ROMs for Z3 have many relevant bugs (warmp up, slow charge, less battery life ecc.).
I have a locked bootloader so LineageOS not an option. So far seems MM definitely the preferred version. Surprising, I much prefer stripped down stock kitkat.
I'm using RR-OS 7.1.2, but I'm planning to go back to MM for the battery life and some FC on apps like WhatsApp. I was using Existenz, but I got some problems like no message sound after unplug the earphones, and I switched to another... but just now I don't remember the name...
