hi everyone!
i'm new here and haven't had the chance to read all forums so please, if there is already a thread for this topic, kindly send me the correct url..
anyways, i recently rooted my o+ grande and partitioned my 32gb memory card so that i can use the link2sd app. everything was working fine until this morning when i tried to install some new games that i received the "internal storage running out error". all of my user apps are saved on sd and my sd card has still lots of space.

is there any way i can directly install new apps on my sd card without the touching the internal memory? or at least expand my internal memory since there is still 1.52gb for phone memory (fat32). thanks.

I can't find my external SD in Astro or Root Explorer, but the Android system shows it in the storage menu, and my camera saves the photos there, which I can see. I can also view it in recovery. Is there a reason my file managers can't see it?

Mine's the exact opposite. I have the Sandisk Ultra 64gb class 10. I can't see it in Recovery, but everything else sees it just fine.
Silly question, but are you looking in the right place?

you need to reformat it as fat32. There's a thread in the general section about it.

yeah... I saw that... Somewhat torn though with the file size limitation of FAT32.
I have Micromax A104 with a custom rom [Sony Xperia E4]. No need to mention it's MTK based phone and has 2 partitions in the internal memory (~800MB for apps and ~1GB for files). So, I just searched a flashable zip to resize internal partitions on this ****ty phone and succeeded. Now I am having ~2GB space for apps and ~300MB for files. (I'm really not sure about numbers at the moment).
The first problem came was my phone saying "Damaged SD card, please format". It thought my internal SD card is corrupted. I played cool as it didn't bother me much and my apps were having a good time until today. I was searching for custom ROMs for my phone from a while but, wasn't able to find a ROM without less bugs, today I found one of Xperia E4. :laugh:
I installed it, everything's fine. Camera checks out, Synchronization checks out, and everything works fine. The only problem is, even though I have repartitioned my internal memory, I'm still having problem installing all my apps that were before. The ROM took much more space than the stock and now I've run out of space again.
I can't move app data to external SD card even with 3rd party apps like "System app remover" & "Link2SD". Please help guys.
I thought to partition my external SD card in order to keep apps on it, but I have no idea about which partition to make, file format to use, and what names I should give them.
TL;DR: Want to keep apps on external SD card, don't know partition format and afterward procedures to do so. Help
I have this 32GB class 10 Samsung EVO. I want to use 4GB of it to keep apps. Help me in doing so please.
Please note - My device is MTK based Micromax Canvas Fire 2 A104. I am using Sony Xperia E4 ROM (I don't think it matters). I have CWM recovery and I wasn't able to find a stable TWRP for it.
I would really appereciate your help. :good:
Thanks,

How does FUSE on Malaysk's work? I thought it combined the SD card and internal memory sort of like Adoptable Storage on Android 6.0.
I just installed V4 of the Malaysk ROM from the MTCD thread. I installed it on a Joying Android 5.1 MTCD.
Before install:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
After the Malaysk ROM installed, I inserted a 32 GB microsd card in the GPS slot, a 64 GB microsd card in the SD slot.
I thought there was a way to combine the 64 GB microsd card and the 16 GB internal memory? Do I need to do something to make that happen, or did I install it wrong?
The cardst show up:
And the internal is larger than before:
And I have this new Partition menu:
OR am I just confused about what "FUSE" was?
Sent from my SM-G935V using XDA-Developers mobile app
You are confused as to what FUSE is. It is designed to combine partitions on the internal 16gb nand so that we get 12gb free instead of only 2gb free with the stock rom. It has nothing to do with the external sd card slots. I dont know of any way to combine the internal and external memory with Lollipop. Marshmallow added this feature natively in the OS but I highly doubt we will ever see it on these devices. The best you can do is use an app like Link2SD to try to move the data folders of apps installed on the internal 16gb nand to the external SD. I did this for Plex, so that I could cache/sync a lot of movies on my 64GB card.

Ok thanks, that clears it up some. Does that give more RAM too? Or just more free storage?

Just storage. If joying ever releases a 2GB coreboard for these mtcd devices, I'd buy it in an instant.

I'm having this trouble of low internal space [130 MB] in my Qmobile X6. [I've pasted screen caps of the phone HW/SW configurations].

I don't exactly remember how I solved this issue a few years back with my HTC WFS, but I do know that it was solved.
So I searched the internet and saw a video on YouTube about "External 2 internal"
I installed the app and while it prompted me for root, I accidentally tapped on the External to Internal button without setting the app as instructed. :crying:
This has resulted in restructuring of the entire storage space and I can't seem to fix any of that. All i remember was that it showed SDC as this:
But now it shows this:
I know that it has swapped the address, but IDK what the original one was to restore in the first place.
It has created these weird partitions and I can't seem to understand what's wrong with it.
I tried deleting the block folder in root/dev/ but it comes back after boot.
The files inside block are as follows:
I tried factory reset but no help.
Also, it has automatically removed all my linked apps. The link2sd now shows 2 partitions of the same storage space but after every reboot, the l2sd app disappears, and so does all those who get linked to SD.
Hi @sulayemaan. Since you messed up your partitions a factory reset won't help. You might have to flash the stock firmware again. There's no dedicated forum for your device here so try posting your query in:

What does this do exactly? Does it allow you to use the SD Card as internal data source?

This is true? In last months I am not searching for this, but is the first time that I see a patch for 7.0.
For example, this post is only for 6.0, and I supose that this is only because they doesn't find / created any patch for 7, because some people is asking: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-a/how-to/patch-adoptable-storage-enabler-t3507387
----- [After write the previous text] ---------
I searched the MD5 of the file, and found adoptable_storage_enabler_ashyx.zip uploaded by ashyt16 (I supose that is this user: https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4899305), that is just the user who posted the 6.0 posts aboud enable adoptable storage, but always for mashmallow.
Some posts refers to this file https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75078712&postcount=58 https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75942894&postcount=25
Are you saying that this file works on Tab A with 7.0? (And not using it on 6.0 and then updating).
What benefits does this give? Sorry if that is a silly question, I'm new to this.

I thought this tab already does that. As soon as I put in an sd card a screen comes up asking me if I want to use it as internal storage.
