r7plus user bored with colour os and spectrum beta is full of bug - Oppo R7 Plus

Firstly I want to say that I don't have any experience of rooting or installing custom recovery. I just came to know about the spectrum beta for my oppo r7plus f via oppo community. As it was to be installed through stock recovery so I installed it. Before using oppo I has using moto (1st gen) so I was quite happy with the spectrum os as it was almost stock experience. Now after more than three months there are no update in spectrum os and moreover it's full of bugs. Sometime it slowdowns my mobile and the most annoying thing is that 1out of three time I try to make a call it automatically reboots. I was using jio SIM in slot one. Some of my friends suggested to remove the jio SIM. But the problem is still there. Can anyone please give me any suggestion. I don't wanna go back to colour os. someone Please help me . Is there any easy way to install lineage os or any other better os?please guys suggest me. Or else I have to flash the colour os again through stock recovery. Please please help me

[Q] Rooting my android

hi Experts,
i tried to find the answer from the forum, took me hours but no answer. That is why I am posting this thread.I want to root my HTC G1.But I don't want to use custom roms.On iphone when I jailbreaked my phone i did not go for another rom ,i used the same that came with it.My question is if I root my android device ,do I really need to install a new rom or I can use the same that came with it but will gain some power of having root.
sincerely,
ml
You don't need to but why not use a rom that has more features than stock.
Thanks for reply.I want to but afraid of make the device too slow.i can still remember when I upgraded ios 3.0.2 to ios4 on my iphone ,it was quiet annoying to use.I just want to root to move my apps to the sd card.
Installing a custom rom, normally, doesn't make your phone goes slow... but it gives it a HUGE boost and add features!!! And Android is not Ios 4...

Miui 8 on Mi 4C

Hi guys!
I installed yesterday Miui 8 alpha from here: http://en.miui.com/thread-295006-1-1.html
ATTENTION!
This will be locked your bootloader!
I tried the recovery image, but it didnt work. I flashed first stable miui 7 from eu.miui than got I drecly a system update to Miui 8.
Unfortunately it's still based on android 5.1.1.
Here are screenshots.
How is Battery life... SOT? Thank you!
I dont know. I didnt so much used. Now Im back to sMiui. But I think its not beter than sMiui.
I use xiaomi.eu version which doesn't lock bootloader. Everything works well...somewhat. Back camera got downgraded features (only 720p max?), front camera can still record 1080p. Battery life, SoT and RAM consumption are similar to 6.5.26. I enable the battery saver, though. Plus only some apps are allowed for full background processing. I'm sticking with it, next updates should be better.
I'm using MIUI8 for nearly 24 hours now and I'm quite satisfied. Have not recognized heavy bugs (not even small ones).
The battery life seems to be similar to MIUI7 builds and worse than CM13.1 from TeamSuperluminal, which I used over the past few months.
I've been using first version of MIUI 8 from the first day it came out, on xiaomi.eu and I haven't got any issue what so ever. I find it works well, no bugs on my type of use so far. The thing is I don't find a significant change over Miui7... Do you guys? Generally speaking. There are a few functions on sharing that are diferent but it isnt something you should worrie about to hurry up updating.
My suggestion for everyone is that if you are in Miui7 (whatever stable or dev version) dont feel you are loosing something without having version 8... it is almost an appearance thing only changes. I'm not dev so i dont actually know what changes in the inside code and stuff, just speaking over a consumer and tester view.
If there is some devs who can tell what important changes are made over I would appreciate.
miui 8 6.6.23 beta. full wifi usage

what i feel is xiaomi added new theme to MIUI 7 and brand it as MIUI 8.
Nothing significant, everything same as MIUI 7.
totally agreed, i had some overheating and touch issues btw
I'll wait Miui8 on android MM for Mi4c before installing that...
Hi! Please help me out
I will receive my new Mi 4c with the Bootloader Unlocked from the re seller , Rooted and with Multi language ROM.
Do I have to unlock the bootloader with the official method (which means flashing Cina Dev ROM -to re lock the bootloader- and go on with the Xiaomi's code procedure..) or it is possible to get all things done by choosing an unofficial weekly miui.eu international ROM and install it normally from the Updater app as soon I get my device but also be able to update it every week via Updater without issues?
My problem with flashing is that I don't have my laptop and the one I have now runs win xp.
If your MI4C is rooted you can install Flashify. With Flashify you can flash TWRP. Then you can download any desired rom and install that from TWRP.
No need for a computer.... unless you brick your phone at some point.

First, just see first if you can access to the recovery rebooting with Vol button pushed.
What's your rom version.
Hi! it's been a while since I made this post and I've changed the MI4C with a Mi4... thanks anyway! Best!

[Discussion] stock oxygen OS now starting to lag at times .What are my Alternatives ?

Hi guys ,
3 years oxygen OS was running good but now it has started to lag , please let me know the alternatives available .Can flashing a Stock OS resolve this issue as i am a bit doubtful if its time to switch from oneplus 6 or stock os can help squeeze more juice out of it for next 1 year or so . Please let me know your suggestions. Thank you
Maybe you can do a fresh install, with a full wipe. It can help
If you want to try custom ROM, then go for Lineage OS. I am using it for two months and cant be happier. Not so many customizations, but I dont need that much. But battery life is amazing even with GApps (6+hrs SOT).

hello is there even devs working for this tab anymore?

Hi. I have Tab 3 lite or SMT113. it was vanilla but i decided to root and just install custom roms as it was just very old. First i bricked it but i used a pc to get official firmware back and then rooted again using kingroot and installed twrp. I installed the latest custom rom for this tab which was Lineageos 14.1 based on Androud 7.1.2. However i didnt like it as it seemed like there was no use of Gpu acceleration and it was very laggy. I m looking for a rom that is android 7+ or android 6 or above. Can anyone please help its kinda my only device. I may be getting a new one but PLEASE someone make a rom for this thing. Android kitkat is starting to lose support for some apps. I m using Fyrestone rom something which is better then stock but still looking for better roms with android 6+. I went on a few forums but they all are dead. Android 8.1.0 is not working and the links have been removed. Even CM11 threads and Android 9 are dead. pLease help users like me who have this device as their only device
i also installed custom boot animations thanks to this thread. Thankyou whoever did this

For Oppo A5s Users

this phone is so so unlucky because of these:
1. there is no custom rom for this phone whatsoever
2.since this phone is treble enabled it can run gsi rom but the problem is it only runs aonly variant so u can't get android 12+ and even though there is an android 11 a only variant it will not work trust me i tried all of them, also the only acceptable experience is android 10 but u can't use google apps because they will slow down the system so bad
if only android 8.1 gsi rom worked really well it will be worth the effort but ur not gonna have a good experience with it because it has a bug that makes the device reboot suddenly everytime u do something
3. even if u were able to get a great experience with a certain gsi rom u'll still lack a lot of features like face unlock, fingerprint, bad brightness, no headphone jack support and no double tap to wake (there is a way to fix the brightness and the headphonejack but that's it)
In Conclusion, if u analyse the pros and the cons of rooting this device and trying to get rid of that stupid coloros 5.2 version, then u'll see that it's not worth the effort
Let's just hope someone will make a custom rom for this phone but it's like 99% unlikely since there is no source code for it
if u have a solution to any of these problems, please don't be shy and show us the way
and if u have any questions reply to this thread and i'll reply if i know the answer
Did you try the dotOS gsi rom? I was planning to install in my oppo a5s if it's worth it
