Update:
I sent the mobile to Repair center. After 20 days they replied that there is some fault in motherboard and that can't be solved. So, they offered me a deal to get "Huawei Honor 5x" and pay 40$ because New Alcatel idol3 is no more available with them. So, i have just accepted the deal. I had already used idol3 for 8 months almost. So, i think thats a good deal to experience other phone.
Dear experts,
I have Alcatel Idol 3 6045K.
I rooted it few months ago and everything was working fine but few days back it started hang & was work slow. So I did soft reset. But the issue was still there. Then, I did hard reset from its stock recovery. (Wipe Cache & Wipe /Restore) and restarted it. Then it worked fine like new phone.
Next day, i wasn't able to install some apps from Google Play and also was not able to install any app from Sd card. I checked the issue on Google search and found one solution that remove the Google account, restart the mobile. When i restarted my phone, it stucked in boot animation. I have tried hard reset it again but still unsuccessful.
I have also tried to upgrade or flash stock ROM from "Alcatel Mobile upgrade" software. but this software is stuck at downloading firmware at 30%.
Please help me solving this issue. This is my first time facing such issue on any Android device. I have already got huge help/tips/tools/rooms for my previous android devices from this forum but this is my first time posting any help request.
I am sorry if my question is too long.Any help is appreciated.
The Alcatel servers are extremely slow when using the Mobile Upgrade software. You may have to let it download for hours
It took me 3 hours to restore my phone to stock from rooted stock.

I'm having the same problem, I left it for one night and still did not pass the 32% If you find a solution please tell me because I really need my phone repaired. I have the 6045k too.

Is there any other solution to upgrade or flash custom rom other then using Alcatel Mobile Upgrade software?
I found a website which mentioned the way to flash stock rom but still its redirecting me to the "Mobile upgrade software link" for downloading stock rom. I didn't find Stock rom file available online for download. Can't post the web link here because of newbie.

It is a good deal, honor 5x is the same thing as idol 3, just with better battery life, so that was indeed a good trade
Even they got a lot of custom ROMs, so you can get rid of the ****ty emui, I hated it, I had the honor 4x before

While browsing google for its reviews. I had read about this EMUI problems that it is the reason for phone to lag and operate slowly/weird and they suggest to install different UI/Launcher.
Which custom rom is more stable for this mobile with everything working perfectly according to your experience.I definitely gonna use it with custom roms installed (after backing up stock one).

yeah it is pretty worth to use custom roms in this case, emui sucks, believe (but it seems EMUI 5 is decent, but before that is really bad)

I have rooted two Android phones previously and rooted this model once before. I have spent over an hour searching the forums for any clear answers and all I can find is jargon and nicknames that take me 10 minutes to unpack for each forum post only to discover that it might or might not apply to my particular phone.
Enough complaining.
What can I do with my phone with my LG G4 h81022c?
Can I put a different Marshmallow rom on it?
Can I get to Nougat?
Can I root it?
I have been having issues with the Google Play service apps like Store, Music, and Photos and need to at the very least restore to factory settings.
I think there should be a sticky thread saying "If you go past update xxxxxx you are screwed"

Nougat is not out yet. And only choice is factory reset. I don't think we have newer firmware to flash. And you most likely cannot flash an older one due to antirollback.

WOW! That's amazing that they have neutered this phone so much I'm several security updates behind and I have no faith that LG and AT&T will upgrade my phone.
Thank you for answering my questions.

Hey there,
I am thinking of buying the ZenFone 4 Pro.
I have a Huawei P8 lite (2015), and I regret buying a phone which does not get any custom roms.
I saw that there was a LineageOS for the ZenFone 2, but could not find anything for the ZenFone 3 or 4?
Is there some issue which prevents people of creating one for the ZenFone 4, or just noone is working on it?
Thanks in advance for information
seems pretty dead in that point but it's because this phone has market issues (low availability) and only a 2 months ago ASUS release a working bootloader unlock tool. Right now you can only root it.

I just want to install custom recovery, so i can do backup of the whole internel memory.
Dont want to install any ROM for now.
Does any TWRP recovery would work on Zenfone 4 Pro?
The official recovery doesnt have much option, only clear cache, factory reset as you know.
I have just received ZS551KL and this is my first day with it after 4 years with Sony Xperia Z2. I have unlocked bootloader (very easy), rooted and installed TWRP Recovery.
This is the only smartphone I have found that has all my needings: FM Radio, NFC, jack 3,5", high quality cam, ecc
ZenUI is good, easy to use and low bloatware but I need a nice Custom ROM. I hope there are some developers working on it because this is a great smartphone.
I have received it with Android 7.1.1 and no update to 8 for the moment Do you know if it is possible to update using Fake GPS or similar?
I am starting now with it, so if you have any question, I can answer them.
Anyone with a good room for ze554kl?
I bought a lg g7 on ebay thinking it was the 710 ULM but investigating I realized that it was the 710pm converted to ULM. Is there any possibility to upload it to PIE since it does not update by OTA ...
return it and buy a pixel 3.
or get the modified lg up from here and the latest firmware from here
but seriously dont buy a g7. it could be great with a great rom, but there just isnt a lot of development behind it.
-Here- You can find step by step what I did to get android Pie 9 on LG G7. I had the same Phone, PM crossflashed to ULM.
LG G7 its a great phone, but if you want a phone with a large development community behind, this is not the chose one. IMO even not worth to try flash Custom Recovery or Root, there is not good rom out there and the Stock Rom with Android Pie work flawless.
Every Phone what I've have before got Custom Rom/Revovery since day One, but lately is not necessary to survive. A lot of things already are on stock rom. Anyway, I dont have any regret with this LG G7 (Good performance, Good Price $140), my last phone was a LePro 3 x727 with a great performance on Custom Rom (SD821, 4/64Gb Android 9 AOSiP, Magisk, Gcam Etc...) And I dont miss it at all...
I will try when I get home!

I bought this phone as well. It was too late to return it but I complained anyway. They gave me a $20 refund.
So all I can do is install lineage os 17 since there will be no OTA? Installing that OS or any OS looks very complicated. There is no way to upgrade from Oreo without wiping all the data?

Sadly not , but the crossflash process is not that difficult if you follow the guide .
I have sucessfully updated 2 G7's one pm(sprint) and a vm(verizon) both working pretty great on android 10. Can't speak about volte or wifi calling since I've bever used those services so if you are interested in that I can't give you any input
On the other hand you could try lineage os or any ither or the custom roms and some of them do support updates from within the same rom , no facotry reset needed unless upgrading from lets say 10 to 11
I have a PM I am trying to sell .. it was cross-flashed before I bought it.. I used as a wi-fi only phone very happily (that was my goal).. but am trying to get it saleable.... I cannot find an official Sprint ROM to flash? ie. I want to flash it back and sell it as original (ie. usable for Sprint) rather than sell as a frankenstein. Any pointers?

There is not Sprint stock Rom avaliable. Cross flash is a not-return journey. Anyway, there is nothing worng with crosflashed Roms, just a couple apps you cant download from Gplay Store, but you can grab apk from another store. On android 10 you can install some from Gplay like Netflix.

Which is what leads me to believe that most of the ‘ULM-PM’ model isn’t actually anything crossflashed but an actual ULM model ,that has imei that were simply issued to sprint assigned by lg firmware distribution division wtfever...
And that sprint G7’s simply were ulm models is all..
There may be crossflashed variant phones also BUT when u buy a bnib SEALED lg g7 and box says ulm but the sticker isn’t the ‘standard ulm’ and u look up imei and it says sprint..
well.... um yeah logic common sense wouuuuld dictate..
Thee Above^
**now if it were after the tmobile buyout then ofc the firmware would be MIGHT been ‘TM’
Any questions...
It’s already been said that most all g7 have ALL the bands but you have to enter a service menu to enable the ones the modem leaves open avail
Any other questions. .

Well for rooting you will need to unlock bootloader. After that you will need to wait for recovery. Someone will make it sooner or later. Once it is launched in India you will start seeing some progress. I just bought myself yesterday. Tried gcam of mi note 10 pro. It worked except slow motion. Since the hardware is same I guess most of the things will work

Yea I started the unlock process of 7 days the moment i got it... still sometime to go... I will use it as my main phone after unlock since unlocking resets everything... while flashing recovery and magisk should still keep my file.
Err why wait for India? Aint no talented people in the rest of the world?

My last device was Redmi note 8 pro. And for the purpose of development Xiaomi gave mobile units to developers in India. And after few days we started seeing recoveries and roms. So imo we should wait till it get released there or maybe someone else talented enough from other than India will do some miracles.

It's not only the best phone I've ever used, I think it's clearly far & away the best in class for a phone today and I genuinely want it to raise bars for what's possible with the hardware. As a package, it's remarkable. Best in class overall & in many areas.
I just love it. Nothing is a disappointment. Getting on the xiaomi.eu ROM negated the ill effects of importing a deGoogled phone. It's reliable, charges in ludicrously quick time, is a fantastic camera, seems unofficially pretty splashproof. Feels good, looks good, sounds good, works with everything

based on official, but not official. They do updates over the air normally but not til TWRP is ready. They're a solid group, used them before when I had a Mi 9. From a readme:

Since 2010 our web site has officially worked with Xiaomi on a variety of projects for APP translations and bug fixing and is a major part of today's Xiaomi Global ROM experience thanks to the great team at xiaomi.eu and its community.

trust them.
Get yourself on to the EU ROM. I know it's going to take a week to get unlocked but it's well worth while. The EU ROM makes this a superb phone and I've come from a Huawei P40 Pro plus that photographically may be better but there is not much in it. I just love this phone now. Got a couple of cases coming and a better screen cover protector.

Ok is there a way back to getting the phone "locked" again on stock rom if i want to return ?
Why do you want it locked again? The EU ROM shows no security issues, it passed every test.
On the Chinese ROM, I couldn't use my Sky Q as it said it wasn't secure and that was before flashing. Now I can use it. Is there a reason you need it locked?
You can flash the Chinese stock ROM if you do want. I have done to test but come back to the EU version. If you need a link to the stock let me know, I did put instructions on the Xiaomi forum but can copy it here.

I mean if i want to return it to default to be able to sell it. Also 2 questions, does the windows way work or not because i read there's issues in the bat file and only linux works. I dont have access to a linux machine currently. 2nd question, when twrp is ready, until then we will have to flash ourselves until twrp is ready to be able to do OTA?
We've found a fix for the windows method which involves swapping out the fastboot. It's all there in the thread for it, I promise...this is for overall love
And if you may sell it, unless you are going to sell to a Chinese person, I think they will appreciate not having to do the change from the Chinese version.
There are warnings about relocking and the possibility of bricking but you can always flash the stock Chinese version again like I did to test it and then back to EU ROM. Unlocking will bind your Mi account to you phones hardware but this can be swapped to another user if you sell.

Unfortunately not. You will have to wait 168 hours ( 1 week). No way round it as the hardware will be locked to your Mi account during the process.

What are the benefits of EU Rom? I have removed all bloat on China ROM and it's doing fine. Just having and issue of high power consumption of Google Play Services and mdnsd.
See attached screenshots. Plus battery lasts longer, no issues with notification and it reports it's fully secure. For me, it refused to run skyq as the app said it was not secure. Using the EU ROM, it's happy. Have a look at the attached.
How long does Xiaomi normally support their devices? How many "Major" android upgrades do the provide? Like from 10 to 11? And if we went through the EU Rom route will they provide updates for longer?
