Hey guys sorry if it's been answered already. I just bought this S6. SM-G920F can it be rooted? It should have a unlocked bootloader already correct? CFautoroot? Then TWRP recovery? Also, what variant do I have? I bought it here in the states. I saw on the Internet it's a European device. I'm using Cricket on it just fine. I got it for a really good price so. Thanks guys, any help would be appreciated.

G920F has no variant.
You can root it via CF-Auto-Root.

I have a Galaxy s6 920f international model. How do I know if the bootloader is unlocked? I know it may be a noob question but I've searched high and low(google as well as on here) and can't find a straight answer. Someone help a brother out.
Its unlocked mate. The only ones that are locked are a couple of the american carriers. All the G920F's have unlocked bootloader
Hi Guys,
I searched the web looking for diffedences between international and Verizon's version of SGN 5, but didnt come up with anything that could help me to answer the question, if it's safe to flash Verizone's N5 with stock firmware from international N5.
Can anyone confirm/denay this possibility?
Thanks in advance
You will brick your phone and be unable to turn it back on. Don't do it.

Has anyone found a successful root method for the SM-G930T1 Galaxy S7 on MetroPCS? Or will the root method for the T-Mobile variant work on this device? If anyone could let me know that would be great because I have been searching for a way to root this phone without bricking my device with no luck for the Metro variant. Please help. Thanks.

Hi guys..
Long time lurker..
I'm no newb when it comes to rooting, but I've never presented myself with this scenario before.
I recently purchased an unlocked S7 (SM-G930U) straight from Samsung. I'm planning on using it with VZW
Should I activate it first then follow rooting instructions for VZW?
Or root it while unlocked?
Thanks for any help.

Hi mate
Wrong forum....this is for Exynos and you are Snapdragon ( chipset)
Check here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
All snapdragon phones are root the same
What ROMs are good? Anything to watch out for when purchasing, like different carriers (Canada) that maybe don't have an unlockable bootloader or something silly like that I can avoid. Thanks all. I'd do more research but I need a phone early tomorrow morning.
Get the International Exynos S7 if you're after unlocked bootloader & custom ROMs
G930F / G930W8
All US models are BL locked (Snapdragon)
Bell, Telus, and Rogers carry the same model of the s7.

2 questions.
1. can you unlock the BL on the g930w8?
2. Can you then flash AOSP, custom roms just like you can on G930f?
I ask because my g930f got stolen and looking for a replacement.
Thanks.

I got the sm-g930w8 from Telus but haven't started using it yet. I won't be running non-Samsung firmware until the warranty ends.
From what I have seen on XDA, the bootloader should be unlockable since other XDA members are using TWRP on the phone. Here's the link to TWRP which doesn't distinguish between the 930f and 930w8: https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys7.html
