I have the same problem
hopefully someone is going to help us
I have heard it mentioned that you can temporarily root the ATT/AIO/Cricket XT1045 on Android 4.4.4, but not permanently (yet). I have no idea how, though.
Can someone help us out?
I had an hour or so long talk with an AT&T employee who actually knew what they were talking about. I believe due to restrictions in ATT tech chat, he was unable to post either links or straight out tell me how to do it, but he said that it is very possible.
Perhaps people should try logging into their AT&T account and using the tech chat to see what someone can come up with.
Has any progress been made on this? I have XT1045 from Cricket Wireless (owned by AT&T) and the bootloader is not unlockable using the conventional method.

OK. Here I go. Sorry I'm kind of new to XDA. I too have a xt1045 and I just unlocked the boot loader and I too am on ATT.
I bought my phone from Motorola unlocked, idk if ATT or cricket or whatever carrier sells them unlocked too. That may affect bootloader unlocking since you may need an unlocked device to see unlock boot loader.
Now down to the bootloader code.
Make sure you are copying the code correctly from the command prompt. I think the first time I tried to unlock bootloader, I may have copied wrong or something like that. Also, I have heard reports of people retrying, have their devices verified, and getting a code to unlock bootloader. Hopefully that is the case for you guys and unlocking is a viable option.
Hope I helped
Feel free to ask me question about unlocking the bootloader.
I haven't rooted yet and I am getting ready for that.
FYI: you we're able to unlocked your bootloader only because you purchased your device directly from Motorola. The rest of us who purchased from a carrier are F*CKED.

Yeah except i was only replying to him saying if you got your moto G from a carrier it's locked always your f**ked , and that aint so ..
And I didn't say carrier unlocked uh I got it from a carrier new , so yeah soon as I opened the box and entered bootloader it said unlocked yes and no warning screen upon boot either saying this device has been unlocked .
For you guys with At&T-XT1045 or any try this k , Lemme know if it worked
1.) Unlink your Device from motorola ID which means dont be signed in from your device in settings menu -unlink it & don't log in with your google account neithaa dawg.
2.) Unlink from motorola site if needed if option is there
3.) Sign into website and drag the entire policy bar to the bottom (like you read it in entirety) click I agree and check for key eligibility again
4.) Try again with IE 11 if you haven't used it already
5.) recheck your string letter for freakin letter removes all spaces make sure you include # signs try one more time.. There are 4-5 spaces when you just copy/paste the string so paste the code into notepad with any extra spaces deleted please.
See here from about 3:00 on -->> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjsO7t5ulhw
6.) If all that failed spend $25 get http://theroot.ninja/ ( for only 5.01 or lower - doesn't work on 5.02 I heard)
7.) If all else has failed head to thee motorala-forumwhere they are informing moto G owners to send email with their fastboot oem get_unlock_data + fastboot getvar al, and they should be able to accomodate you..
8.) Proceed to adb Sideload or Flash This Total Sauciness Either Way Moto G 2014 Owners

I tried that . I get some errors . I will post the log later .
You said earlier it came like this? Did you buy this phone and then you turned it on and this happened? It's very important you explain as best as you can so I can help you properly.
The phone was simlocked . Someone unlocked it (he unlocked the bootloader and then unlocked it with a box) . The phone was then sold to a customer who said that he wanted to update OTA . Then the phone became bricked .

If you try to unlock the bootloader with fastboot flashing unlock does it work or do you get an error? If you can't unlock the bootloader and flash the full factory image, you will likely have to try to get it replaced by Google.

If you brick your phone with a locked bootloader it wasn't your fault. Nothing you can do to it, can't root it, can't mod it. Just like any other locked phone. If it dies, send it to them for warranty.

No, basically everything you described was a terrible idea and it makes zero sense to intentionally lock the bootloader of a phone you just finished hooking up to a black box to forcibly modify software.
Never lock the bootloader of a modified device, that is just a given.

Well there is that and then there's the fact that the pixel is carrier unlocked. Sounds like this guy had no clue what he was doing with this phone. Also like to know what "box" you hooked the phone up to
Has the original poster tried to unlock bootloader again? The pic in the OP shows fastboot. That looks potentially hopeful. Hope that OTA wasn't 7.1.2
Hopefully the seller was legit, maybe the phone is still under warranty??? Waiting sucks, but if it's under warranty you can fix it for free. Might be worth the wait. If not if that's not an option...
I'm guessing this is a Verizon phone? If so, start worrying, bit don't quit, unless you are prepared to spend more money on a new phone. As long as you have fastboot, you have options.
I'm using Wal-Mart's Family Mobile which runs on T-Mobile's network. Phone is running 7.0 Marshmallow. Even though this phone has 16GB of onboard storage with a micro SD card slot, I don't like how they lock the permissions of Gapps bloatware and wouldn't mind the opportunity to free up additional storage space. Has anybody built a custom recovery yet for this model of the J3?
Update
The bootloader appears to be unlocked, though the FRP lock is enabled. In previous attempts to install custom recovery programs, FRP locks have kept Odin from flashing anything to the phone.
Any advice would be appreciated. Trying not to add a brick to my collection.
how did you do it?
I happened to buy the same model for simple mobile.
I am wondering about the same thing.
It sounds like you were able to gain root.
How did you do that?

disabling frp is simple remove all google and samsung accounts from your device then reboot. it will say frp is off in download mode. but if it says secure check failed your bootloader is locked. and by what your saying your using the j3 prime which is the same device i have and i been trying to root it ever since june. the bootloader is locked and it isnt unlockable. even oem unlock is missing. if you want root and twrp you need to get the j3 prime (sm-j327u) directly from samsung. it is unlocked for all carriers and has oem unlock in developer options.
I got my hands on this device and i would like to network/sim unlock it since its from usa and i am located at Greece.
download mode and recovery both accessible but not fastboot one. No unlock oem option on developer options.
Tried pushing a custom recovery with adb no luck and cant find a stock rom anywhere.
Only option i found is a software called samkeytwo seems a mix of bit shaddy and bit legit requires a payment to do the job.
Personally if a one time payment will do the job its fine with me so pretty much my question is if anyone here have used this and can tell if its working or not?
so my friend on the states has got the same phone and went to a verizon store since he was a costumer of verizon carrier he handed the phone over to an employee and after a short time around 5 minutes he got the phone handed over back to him with a verizon network sim on it working.
talking over with him to undertand how he did it i found out the following. Oem unlock is visible in his developer settings but grayed out so he cannot turn it of or on.
The phone instead of the tracfone logo has verizon when boots up
The phone Baseband version is G8998-00164-1710262031 which reffers to google pixel 2 verizon ?!?!?!!? (his device is still the actual luna j3 pro)
Finally his phone is running android version 8.1 instead of the 7.0!!!
What sorcery has took place at this verizon store?
Little lgnomes perhaps, I try to catch the little buggers every night but unfortunately they are too fast for me

I am on a Verizon pixel 2, locked bootloader, running the current release of android 9.
I am unable to toggle the "OEM Unlocking" option in developer settings
I followed this guide to enable the toggle but ADB/Fastboot still gives me the "Flashing Unlock is not allowed" message when i try to run "fastboot oem unlock" or "fastboot flashing unlock".
Ultimately I would like to be able to root my Pixel 2, but right now I would settle for being able to downgrade Google Play Services to version 12.6.85 because reasons. There does not appear to be a compatible APK for this version of play services and Android 9 on the Pixel 2 (that I have been able to find yet)
Is anyone aware of how I could do the following:
1. unlock my bootloader?
or
2. downgrade to any android 8 version?
or
3. downgrade google play services to 12.6.85 on Pixel 2 Android 9?
The guide you posted is for the original Pixel.
Verizon Pixel 2 has a locked bootloader, and Verizon has disallowed the option of unlocking.
Early in the year, a user here stumbled upon a few commands that would bootloader-unlock the vzw p2. However, any firmware past January (I think) has been updated to protect against this exploit. So you missed the window on that.
I don't think android allows downgrading while the bootloader is locked.
I'm not sure about downgrading play services, but you could easily get the desired .apk from apk-mirror, and attempt to install it. I'm guessing you're going to get an error. In that case, considering you don't have system r/w permission, I don't see any way you'd be able to downgrade play services.
So, short of someone coming along and finding another way to bypass vzw's restrictions, you're stuck on 9.

That won't work. You can't downgrade to an earlier version, and if you've taken any updates past the January VZW variant, nothing can be done. Sorry....

Yeah he's full of it if he's saying otherwise. There is no way it would let you downgrade bootloaders in stock recovery.
Yes BL was unlocked before doing the change. I just rooted it with the skipsoft toolkit Magsik way. after trying others on it. with the skipsoft toolkit you can wipe it and go back to jan 2018 builds of you wish. there are many options on it to choose from.

By that do you mean that you submitted a warranty claim to google? You must not have. I am a Project Fi customer so I never have to think about such things. But yeah, if you bought your pixel from the google website, hooked it up to Verizon service and THEN called Verizon customer service and requested a warranty replacement or an Insurance claim then yeah. In that case you probably would receive a device with a locked bootloader because that's all Verizon deals with as far as I know. I submitted a warranty claim to Project Fi and The device they sent me came with an unlocked bootloader. I think I would have thrown a fit if they had sent a locked one. I would have been on the phone with a Supervisor stating that "the unlocked bootloader feature was 100% the reason I chose to buy the phone directly from google!" I would not have left them alone until I got my way. lol

Yes, as have many others. I'm from Canada, device was bought through google and RMA'd through google. Has nothing to do with Verizon, there are tons of threads about it.
Another alternative, albeit a bit more convoluted, would be to update your current device to the latest update. Back up your user data as best you can, then factory reset, put it on Swappa, and then use the proceeds to purchase a secondhand Google variant with identical specs as the original. At least that way you won't have to deal with any more bootloader shenanigans. If your device is still in good shape and you're savvy enough about it, you may be able to come close to break-even.
I can't seem to get the OnePlus n300 bootloader unlocked,, I do a"db reboot bootloader" it just reboots. I can boot into fastboot mode. I can't seem to find out how to boot into bootloader. Help? Suggestions?
I wasn't sure what thread to post this in if I was wrong please move it to the appropriate thread. Ty
I'm having the same problem phone won't go into brom mode either
Same here. I got mine from T-mobile. I had an A50 from Sprint and they prevented the oem unlock option from showing. And I think this is the same tactic they are doing. I hope someone figures something out. I've never gotten my A50 rooted. It sucks. My N300 only goes in "recovery mode" that just lets you wipe data, power off, or reboot. I bought a case and screen protector already. I might just find someone on e bay and send mine out for someone to figure out if nothing happens. This really sucks.
Edit: I just Contacted OnePlus and the guy checked my IMEI and said my service carrier has to unlock the device to activate the bootloader menu. I don't know how true that is but I called Tmobile and the lady checked my IMEI and said she can't unlock it because there is a contract attached to the device. Even though I got the phone for free. Then later she said she couldn't because the phone is not activated yet. Which I told her that I want the bootloader unlocked before I activate it. So now I don't know what to do. Any help, still, would be much appreciated. );
For context: Phone is similar to the Oppo K10 5G/A77 5G. (No, not trying to unlock BL, just trying to add some clues)
On the t-mobile issue just activate your phone and tell the person that you are a dev and need it unlocked (that's what it o read on XDA re: n200) so i called them saying i didn't want it unlocked for any reason other than to root it. They kinda ho hummed around said they couldn't and later that evening there was an app on my phone that allowed me to oem unlock it and i had it rooted on unofficial twrp oxygen os magisk that night. Planning same as i just ordered n300 will be here today plus already asked an agent at t-mobile and she said she would unlock it.

The problem is not oem unlocking because the option is available In the developers options. The problem is the phone will not boot up in fastboot mode. But please, if you have anything that can help, please post. Thanks.
I don’t know if people still do this, but…
BUMP!
Lol
Have to unlock phone, then get unlock code from OP
For the N200 we could run this to ungrey the OEM unlock toggle:
Code:
adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.qualcomm.qti.uim
Have you tested to see if this works with the N300?

The N300 is a MediaTek device, and the code you showed looks to be for Qualcomm.

Oof. Yup, that’ll do it. Didn’t realize that. Yuck!
Looks like I'm getting the phone back! Did we ever figure out how to get fastboot? Anyone make a twrp for this phone yet?
I was wondering about it also because MetroPCS told me after 180 days my phone automatically is unlocked...so does that mean the bootloader can be unlocked as well or does anyone know if MetroPCS even allows that?
