How to install Customs Roms On Gionee Elife E3 Indian Firmware

Hi Gionee E3 owners,
So in this Thread I will be discussing How to install Customs Roms On Gionee Elife E3 Indian Firmware.
Tested it myself on my Gionee Elife E3 with S/W Ver :- E3_0102_V5715
First u need to root ur phone & Flash CWM RECOVERY
For ROOTING INSTRUCTIONS go to this one or this one
And for Flashing CWM RECOVERY go to this one or this one
Now after u root ur Phone & done with flashing of CWM RECOVERY, Now time to flash Customs Rom.
In order to work Custom Roms on Indian Firmware
READ AND FOLLOW THE WHOLE PROCEDURE..!!!
1. Download any Custom Rom which is made for Gionee Elife E3
2. After d/l need to delete some files from Custom Rom & replace it with Stock Rom Files.
3. Files needs to delete from Custom Rom
4. Delete boot.img
5. Delete firmware folder from system\etc
6. Delete agps_profiles_conf & apns-conf file from system\etc
7. Delete modules folder from system\lib
8. Delete sensors.default.so & hwcomposer.mt6589.so file from system\lib\hw (hw folder)
9. Now copy all the things from ur stock rom to custom rom to there respective folders.
10. Now ur done.. Falsh it & enjoy...
Note:- Never unzip the Custom Rom.

it would be helpful if you can answer why we need to replace these much files
i am on chinese firmware so i dont need these much stuff to replace but why for indian firmware
also please can you upload these files

Bro there is no custom rom which support Indian firmware so in order to work the custom rom u have to replace these files.
That is why people flash Chinese firmware & who are on Chinese firmware do not need to do that.
About the files i can provide u but gionee use two different s/w ver so its better every one should use there own stock rom files.

thanks for reply anyways now i am in confusion
when i flashed chinese firmware 1.2 and tried to update i got update 1.13
now i flashed 1.8 through recovery on top of 1.2 again i checked for update it is showing me update 3.0
what should i do???

you must use your stock rom boot.img
just make cwm backup once
you will find boot.img in clockworkmod folder in your phone storage

This time i am unable to take nandroid backup in CWM 6.0.2.8. Whenever i tried to take backup it says "can't' mount /data" after backing up the system. I have checked my SD card, it is a class 4 Toshiba 4GB in FAT32 format and free space is 100%. Any solution?

many has faced this problem i suggest you ask person whose recovery you are using

Hi Fahad, i am Qmobile a600 user, the sad part is that no rom for this mobile has been made by our Pakistani developers. I have tried some more than 6 different Canvas HD roms .... i always get a clean install but with the errors of unknown baseband, no imei and sims not detecting ... i even flased a pakistani baseband zip developed by someone named i think Umair but it did not solve the problem for me
my question is ... is this a different baseband file ..... and if i try it, will i be able to solve the problems

Hi,
Dear this zip contains a different baseband file, it will not work with A600
For your A600, I can make a patch easily in few minutes, but you to provide me baseband file from A600's orignal ROM.
How you will provide
--> Install root browser from play store
--> Open it
--> Scroll down
--> Open system folder
--> Go to etc
--> Then go to firmware
--> Copy the modem.img
--> Go back and paste it into SD-Card
--> Then simply send me
I'll make a patch for you, which will work with every ROM
If you still have problem in understanding anything which I said, feel free to PM me

i reboot to recovery and flashed it again ..... sims did not work again

i provided you the modem.img of my stock rom which is working right now on my phone
secondly i flashed it just after flashing the rom , but the result was same for me ..... no baseband and no sims detection

I have started this forum for all Celkon A118 users, who are still waiting for custom/ ported ROM for their mobile. My first ROM in this regard would be Xperia based and will be available for download in a while.

Procedure for flashing:
1) Copy the download zip file to SD card of your smartphone
2) Select install from SD card in CWM after booting in recovery mode
3)Reboot after flashing complete
**for all the above, you will need your phone to be rooted. If you still have un-rooted phone and want to root download mtk droid tools.

Yes! Formating cache is required . There is no bug in my knowledge. Used it almost three months before posting.

ZTE Grand SII (S251) Rooting Guide!!!! (Indian 3G Version)

Hello Everyone!!!!
This is a rooting guide for ZTE Grand SII (S251) which was released in india in the past week.... after trying a number of tools i was successfully able to root the phone, so this is a guide for those who would like to root their phone.... i am not a developer just a power user
1) Connect ur phone to ur pc first time in "Install driver mode" and install the adb drivers first... (Or else you can run setup from the attached file below for installing the drivers for your phone)
2) Once drivers are installed enable "developers Option" in settings and enable "USB debugging"
3) Then download root genius from the attachment below
4) Connect your phone to the pc and select "connect to pc Software" and let the drivers install
5) fire up root genius with administers privileges (you should have internet connection for this)
6) if you have done everything as described above then u should see connected on bottom left of your screen, click i accept agreement and click root and wait....
7) It should take 2 to 3 mins to root using all the possible exploits (internet connection is required for this) and then it should say that you have successfully rooted your phone
8) Once it tells you its successfully rooted close the program disconnect your phone from pc and restart
9) you should see a new program called KingUser in your app drawer (which is like superUser)
10) and Voila!!! your phone is rooted!!!! to confirm this download any free root checker from playstore and check your root privileges.....
NB:
1) You can replace kinguser with super user just by downloading it from the store and installing and updating its binary...... i have taken a backup of kinguser in titanium backup before installing superuser and replacing it as a system app.....
2) You can follow this guide cautiously cause if you brick your phone then i am not responsible..... this has worked for me and hence wanted to share it with the community which has helped me countless times in the past.....
3) if you root your phone your warranty would also void and i am not responsible for the same.....
4) any help or suggestion would definitely help with that

Thx bro... Just trying to help.... Nope a developer needs to port the ROM for our device then only we might get a custom ROM...
The Antutu score is 39554 on v5.1

As of now its not available for our device and frankly have not tried it too, since there is no modder who is ready to work on our device..... have gifted this phone to wife for this sole reason and moved over to OnePlus One....

Guys can you confirm the model number is S251 for the Indian version of ZTE Grand S2. Also did anyone come across stock official firmware for ZTE Grand S2? I was a kernel developer for Xperia ZL previously and I can try porting recovery for our device if anyone could point me to any stock firmware for this device so that I can recover my device incase I brick it.

Yep the Indian Grand s2 model number is S251 and it's only 3g with CDMA unlike the international variant which is 4g lte variant ..... And i have yet to come across a stock firmware and recovery for this device hence am skeptical to flash anything else... Wish u could help us out with a working custom recovery....

I've already received my device and started working on CWM. I was thinking of making a unification thread for all the ZTE Grand S II devices. I'll try doing that but if anyone's willing to do that post the link to that thread here to redirect users. Also I found the stock firmware files for our device so we can always go back to working stock firmware in case anything goes wrong. I'll post link to stock firmware later

Wow... Would really appreciate that.... Just be sure which thread u would be merging because the international variant is completely different (snapdragon 801 whereas ours is 800) would really luv to see the links to stock firmware and recovery...

Hi all.. I recently purchased this phone from amazon.in .. Have anyone figured out any updates to the software. It is stuck to 4.2.2 .. And to simply root ur device use towel root. I rooted mine with towel root.

Hi all.. I recently purchased this phone from amazon.in .. Have anyone figured out any updates to the software. It is stuck to 4.2.2 .. And to simply root ur device use towel root. I rooted mine with towel root.

Simply download towelroot from towel root.org .. Install it. Click on the make it rain button .. Wait for a few seconds.. It will congrats.. Reboot.. Download root checker from play store.. Check if u got root.. If positive, download supersu from play store. Done

I downloaded it, but it didnt install. On going through the details on the site it states that it works only on Kitkat devices. Can you confirm how you installed this on your device

There are some ROMs present on the below link which state the model as ZTE-S251, the one we have in India. But how to check if these will work on our phones.

I'll post the link again.. Meanwhile u can open the link u provided in chrome browser and use the Google translate option in settings. That will convert the page in English and u will be able to read..

I have obi hornbill s551 . and my current firmware is kitkat . i would like to update into lollipop . if there is nothing is there any possibility to update any phone to lollipop .

there are 2 files in the folder where you shared in 4shared.com
but one is n9006 ROM(not3) and other is Tab3

Note :- it only can restore when we put the mode "Format All + Download "
the draw back is that IMEI need to write after restore

My phone have a virus and i download avast anti virus then i scan my phone and i found out the virus name PROXY SERVER then it can't be uninstall then i rooted my device and installed root app delete when i'm delete the proxy server my phones gone crazy and i turn it off and i turn it on the its show's OBI only nothing else... help please
