Whatsup guys, i'm new to xdadev, i'm loving how elaborate and informative all these threads are as well as the community.
Long story short, i got an S7 Tmobile here (i found it, it was blacklisted google locked and all sorts of ****ed)
So i replaced the screen and it looks brand new.
As far as google lock and the blacklisting, i went to a guy who basically did his magic and he wont tell me what he did exactly but i'll ASSUME, he did a flash ROM ?
When it boots it says Android Custom Rom or some****.
It was working fine despite it being kind of laggy.
left it on the table for a week, now that i want to turn it on, it's stuck on the T-Mobile Screen, and i hear a repetitive buzzing sound every minute or so. (is this a brick or a bootloop?)
Anyways, i go to the boot options menu (Power, volume down, and home), and I run Odin as admin, and followed through as instructed. (Yes, I've tried BOTH versions of Odin)
and i made sure I used the right custom firmware (its the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy 7) (Not edge)
On my phone screen I get this:
ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
Product name: SM-G930T
Current binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
FRP Lock: OFF
Warranty Void: 0x0
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
RP SWREV: B4(2, 1, 1, 1, 1) K1 S3
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
SW REV CHECK FAIL : [system]Fused 3 > Binary 2
(all of that is on my phone screen)

Does anyone have any solutions?
I'm only attempting the unroot in hopes that i can simply get past the tmobile screen to get the phone running so I can sell it.
**UPDATE**
So i've been playing around with it. I tried 'kies' (Smart Switch.. i think? correct me if im wrong) and tried the emergency software recovery/ initialization but it asks for a Model Name and i guess i'm a really low scrub noob but i can't even get past that part.
It'd be cool if someone can pass me the model name (i swear i had it and i can't even find it now on google, maybe its because i'm running on no sleep and filled with frustration and rush, i gotta get this phone sold by tomorrow)
But yeah, so the Kies method is on pause.
So now I'm trying to do a hard reset through recovery mode (Power, Vol up, Home).
Here's what I have:
Android Recovery
MMB29M.G930TUVU3APG1 (lmfao i think i just figured out the model number here <(G930TUVU3APG1) >_<
samsung/heroqltetmo/heroqltetmo
6.0.1/MMB29M/G930TUVU3APG1
user/release-keys
Use Volume up/down and power.
[then the menu of what i can do]
and on the bottom:
Supported API:3
dm-verity verification failed...
So I try 'Wipe data/factory reset' and here's what I get:
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
-- Set Factory Reset done...
-- Copying media files...
-- preload checkin...
E: failed to mount /preload (No such file or directory)
Data wipe complete.
And basically when I reboot the system, it shows
Samsung Galaxy S7 Custom (Unlock icon),
Then the android loading (installing system update...)
and back to the recovery menu.
What could have caused this?
I was playing around with Odin earlier as well and i feel as though i mightve ****ed it up because i played with options like NAND Erase All and Re-Partition.
Could that be why?
or does it have to do with something called KNOX? I have no clue what KNOX is but based off what i read off other threads, there's a knox count or something to whether it's 0 or 1 or some****
and FRP unlock/bypass may have something to do with it?
Again, keep in mind that i let someone else do something to this phone (no clue what that person did in practice, but ill assume a custom flash rom and frp unlock to bypass google cloud lock and also clean imei from blacklisting)
All this stuff is beyond my knowledge so i'm sorry if i sound extra ignorant but im trying haha.
Anyways, enough of my ranting.
Help me get this phone up and running ASAP and you'll be rewarded a small incentive. ($10-$15 Paypal)
Thank you!
When you do the whole emergency recovery thing, you should see your serial number on the back of your phone. punch that in, and wait for the download, it's going to download the firmware for your exact model/country branding blah blah blah.
See if that helps.
If not, try flashing a TWRP and putting a custom rom at least so you can boot.
So you stole a phone (Theft by finding here in good old UK - Theft), got someone to illegally change the IMEI and remove the FRP lock, now it doesn't work and you want help to get your stolen phone working again? ... Hmm let me see...

Finding a phone does not constitute as theft, so let's clear that up.
Finding a phone and deciding to keep it without returning it to the carrier in an attempt to have it restored to it's rightful owner who actually paid for the device, is theft.
@Eiji.exe, as has been instructed to you, please return the lost and found equipment. I'm sure you would want the same done for you.
This thread was closed not due to bullying or for imposed authority, but because we do not allow discussion of bypassing securities on stolen equipment.
Have a good day.

I'd tried all repair method to solve the bricked... but nothing change. It tend to the red text.
Additional info- before it happen..the phone is on taiwan firmware with ardadat's kernel 1.5 if I not mistaken...
So I really appreciate that if theres any solution before I wanted to send it to service centre.

Sigh, so i'm back again, 2nd time messing up my phone in 3 weeks......This time its going to cost me if I don't get an answer. I bricked my phone, i tried everything, and I mean everything, and it just won't finish flashing via Odin "pc" and I can't my mac to find the Pit files because of Stupid Kies.
Anyway, what did I do again? well i flashed the abyss kernel and then immediately via CWM tried to restore my Criskelo ROM and it would not get past the boot up screen, "the one before the animation" ....i wiped cache, tried restoring my stock Rom, tried wiping dalvick cache, you name it. None of that work, the only thing i could get into at the time was CWM and Odin mode "download mode".....I continued to try to figure it out for my self, and tried repeatedly to flash via odin.....back to a stock rom and i screwed up so much more now because of that. I can't get into clockworkmod anymore....i can't get into recovery, NONE OF THAT ....Only thing i see when i put on my phone is "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." ...I can get into Odin mode, but NOTHING ELSE. PLEASE SOMEONE HELPPPPP ME!. I don't know what I am going to do if i don't back my phone.
btw, if you wanted to know how far I got in the whole flashing via Odin.

If your SGN is still under warranty and your binary counter is zero, rush to your nearest samsung service center. Tell them the phone booted after the update and never started.

Odin seems to think everything is fine as it says Pass in green but the phone is still stuck in download mode with the same dialog .
By the way I've tried a lot more than 4 time with the same method I think it must be stuck on (4) though
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
You can try a couple things. From a powered off state, hold volume up, power, home button. It should boot into the custom recovery, from there you want to wipe - cache, dalvik, and see if it boots. If not, Odin back to stock and start over. You'll need to find the correct file for your phone, probably on sammobile.com.

If I try odin back to stock firmware with the phone stuck like this is there any chance it would work?
Yes, it will work. Basically, you would be flashing the same thing Samsung does to restore a phone to factory status.
this why i don't do experiment to my phone before this phone all my phone was root because was cheap phones

There is nothing wrong with rooting an expensive phone, as long as you are prepared and have the files you need to recover from something gone wrong.

Yeah defiantly naive of me especially after coming from using apple not really knowing the first thing about android. although there's no info on there that mattered too much.
my only reason for rooting is so I can get an app like guardian I think its called or something similar made by XDA so I can regulate the apps I use as its pretty stupid some of the permissions you have to give to even basic apps such anything from browser history, access to contacts and caller id etc. when there is really no need.
im not paranoid I just don't believe you should give private info so readily. but im back to square one anyway haha
So you got it running?

Choice, think ill give it another go
Hey everyone,
A little while back, I gave my mom my Galaxy S6 as I got myself another device. She setup the fingerprint scanner to get into the device and along with it a backup password (I presume). Today, her battery died for the first time and because you can't use her fingerprint the first time after a restart (not sure why to be honest) and she forgot the backup password, we cannot access the phone.
I thought there was an option to reset the device using her Google account after entering the wrong code a few times, but that option doesn't appear unfortunately. I read about Find my Mobile, and while I was using the S6 I activated it and I can find it in my list of phones when I login with my Samsung Account. But I am unable to unlock the phone with it because it says it's offline at the moment (it's online, but I assume it says that because it isn't activated anymore, I reset the phone before I gave it to my mom).
I know that I can enter recovery mode to factory reset the device. The thing is that she really wants the pictures on it. Is there any way at all for me to get the pictures from the device? If I'm correct, it was fully stock.
Many thanks in advance!
Google photos is usually set to auto backup pictures on the device. Login there with her google account and see if it kept them.
Thanks for your reply, I will check. Is there anything else I can do besides that? And since when is the "forgot pattern" option gone? I was sure I had it back when I owned the phone.
http://trendblog.net/how-to-bypass-android-phone-lock-screen-pattern-pin-password give this a shot if you want, plenty of methods. You could also download an application for android on windows and reset your lock that way through abd, you'll have to find it yourself as I can't find a trustworthy source and don't want to claim responsibility for any damage just Google "Android pon/pattern unlock software" I've used it before
I'm unable to help you with this issue, but I can clarify on why it asks for the passphrase after a reboot when you use the fingerprint lockscreen mode.
Researchers have been able to fool the Samsung Galaxy S6's (and probably other phones) fingerprint sensor with your own fingerprint that's potentially on your phone, somewhere.
Here's a scenario: Your phone gets lost/stolen, chances are whoever found it would reboot the phone at least once, if that person did do that, it'd be practically useless even if he/she did manage to extract your fingerprint and 3D print it or something similar. He'd/She'd need your passphrase.
So if anything, it just adds more security. And don't forget Samsung's Reactivation Lock. If my S6 got stolen/lost, I would immediately activate it. Whoever has my phone then, would have a paperweight, not much of a phone.
You could always install twrp and factory reset. That doesn't wipe internal (sdcard) storage so that could work
Yeah, he can do it but if reactivation lock is activated, it won't work
I don't have the reactivation lock enabled if I recall correctly. How would I go about flashing TWRP?
Use odin, look for a Tar.md5 twrp version ( can use the setup mm guide from Crisscross or Xtra lite, they contain links for Tar.md5.
Place it in AP , disable auto reboot and click start.
Should complete then hard power off the device and reboot into recovery, then wipe Cache/Davlik and reboot and you should loose the pin Code lock screen
Thanks for the explanation. I am gonna try this now. Fingers crossed!

So I got it to pass and I booted into recovery. I wiped the dalvik/cache and rebooted. Now, it seems like I am in a bootloop because I see the logo flashing over and over. What can I do? Is there a way to move the pictures to my computer while in TWRP?
EDIT 3:
I pulled all the files from the phone using ADB Pull (thank you and god ). However, I am still in a bootloop. Any ideas?
Just rescue the phone with Smart Switch
Smart Switch is needed to activate on both phones, and since he cant access the phone, he wont be able to sync the two devices together. So its a no go.
To install TWRP, you need to activate Developer Mode in about phone - which is not possible since he cant unlock the phone.

What link
For everyone still reading this, keep in mind that flashing TWRP will trigger KNOX!!!
I did a factory reset, clicked "Start", connected to a wi-fi network, agreed to the terms, etc... and then the phone got stuck in the "Checking network. Adding a few finishing touches. This may take a minute or two" phase. I waited hours, but it would always get stuck at that part, so I skipped connecting to a wi-fi network.
That helped, and got me further through the initial setup phase, but now, and no matter what I do, it'll just get to a point where it tells me "Not signed in. To use this phone you first have to sign in to an owner's Google account in use on this phone when it was last reset. Because you haven't done so, you have to set up the phone again".
The ****ed up part is that, during the setup stages that precede this message, I'm not asked to sign in to Google. I've tried doing a multitude of things but I cannot get past that.
I can't even go back through the recovery menu, now, as doing the power+volume+home button combination just starts the phone normally.
How did this happen and how do I fix it?
Bumping.
Bumping
Sounds like you need to do factory reset. I take it you've tried holding power+home+volume up while phone is off and keep it held down until recovery appears?
Alright, it just got more frustrating.
I tried doing the button combo to get to the recovery menu, but every time I'd try that it would just start the phone normally. Now, for some reason, it did get me to the recovery menu, so I did a Factory reset once again, and wiped the cache.
But the issue is STILL there. Same thing. It got stuck in "Checking Network", so I went with not having the wi-fi activated, I went through the menus, etc... I even set up a pin and a fingerprint, but right after the window where you select weather stuff and location stuff, I get the exact same error message: "Not signed in. To use this phone you first have to sign in to an owner's Google account in use on this phone when it was last reset. Because you haven't done so, you have to set up the phone again."
Why on earth is this happening??? Why would it even mention google accounts that were in use before the phone was reset IF I'VE WIPED ALL THE DATA??? Shouldn't it start fresh? Like, zero, nada?
When I purchased my phone the initial setup didn't have that message. What gives? I mean, I had rooted my phone before doing a factory reset, but that has nothing to do with this issue, right?
Can anyone help?
Please, can anyone help? What do I do? What solutions are there? I saw some dude with the same issue on a forum somewhere, and he said that he went to settings > apps > Google play services and enabled all permissions, but I can't even access the settings in the first place, since the phone's in the initial setup.
What can I do? Do I flash some sort of custom firmware into it or something? There's gotta be something... How on earth is this error not talked about more? Is it a rare thing? I never knew **** like this could happen. Just what is going on?
Please.
Anyone?
I tried flashing the S6's default firmware through Odin onto my S6 yesterday, but right after select the .md5 file and then click "Start" in Odin's interface, it'll run for a few seconds, but then "Failed" comes up at the top.
What specific firmware can fix this?
Just tried it again, and this time it took a bit longer before failing but it still failed. Here's the log in Odin:

In the phone's download mode screen I can see something in red saying: [CM] SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 5, BINARY: 3
What does that mean?
I would stick to odin part
be very careful
put your phone right under the usb port when flashing since it can lose connection very easly
use odin 3 07
i think flashing rom is the only thing that could help you here
(or maybe custom recovery flash over odin then wipe and try other rom)

Please tell me how you did this. I am also having this issue with more than 1 device...please help.
hung in checking network
This just happened to me. I had to do a factory reset, and it just kept hanging on setup. Eventually, I just powered it down and turned it back on a few minutes later. And then the setup magically proceeded normally.
