Hi All,
I am having trouble looking for a thread that would help me update my rooted MT7-TL10, my current version is TL10V100R001C00B120SP04. Is it easier if I just unroot it first then install
via OTA? The new pending version under EMUI updater is TL10V100R001C00B130. I dont think it has a noticeable change with my current version but I really would want a Lollipop OS
for my MT7 (better if its an official update) Hope you could help me and give me the step by step procedure for this since my phone is getting really boring without the lollipop or marshmallow update.
Thanks! :fingers-crossed:

Here is the correct link to root and Custom Recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/general/huawei-ascent-mate-7-unlock-recovery-t2941525
You can also root each version KK,LP or MM.
In my case never has a Ota update works, but you can do all by Local Update.
But you must go back to Stock Recovery
Thread is not working anymore.. What version do you have now? How did you upgrade?

I have version 4.4.2. The kitkat version. Never updated it ever since i got the phone. Received a notice on a new OTA update.. But it is more on for stability. Not the lollipop update i guess.
what do you want exactly?
Just want to know if there is an official lollipop update for my phone. And on how to install it while im rooted.

I had the same version on my TL10 (120SP04) and I went directly to B331 from dload folder. No problem in it. Just one difference - my device was unrooted. I made root after that and then flashed KangVIP 3A which is really fine ROM. I think I can recommend you the same however I don't know if there is any problem in your root (but I don't think so).

Did you reach the lollipop version via OTA? So i know if its easier just to unroot and update.

Hi again, Im receiving error tying to install this in TWRP. Hope you could help. Thanks
Mine was B120 SP04 also. I did the B130 update and kept it that way quite a while, unlocked, CWM recovery and rooted. Also had an older version of Xposed working with some modules. I tried a mod that stuffed it up recently, although it still booted, so decided to go Lollipop seeing as I had to work on it anyway. First thing is to use ADB and flash back to stock recovery, then I unrooted.
Next I applied B324 via local update. It ran fine so I applied B331 via local update.
Running good. Now have TWRP recovery and root. It's a shame Xposed doesn't work on it
I‘ve also not been able to apply lollipop incremental updates. Only a full ROM. Decided not to risk MM yet.
I‘ve noticed that on LP and debloat system apps, I have more free RAM than with KK. It also runs smoother. I installed EX Kernel Manager anyway and with a few basic tweaks the phone flies!
Seriously considering rolling back to Kitkat.
B331 Lollipop runs fine as a daily driver, it's just that even with it rooted, it's so hard to install any mods to customise it how I want.
On reflection, Lollipop doesn't seem to offer me any real benefits over Kitkat
Hi All,
I would like just a little help on how to update correctly a rooted Honor 8 on MM 6.0 to Nougat 7.0 ?
Meaning from firmware B131 to B360 ?
OTA doesn't work, even when i disabled ROOT. I also tried bootloader to force update but it fails during the process.
Any idea what to do next? Do I need to relock the bootloader and remove TWRP before proceeding?
Thanks very much!
Unroot, flash stock recovery for the emui version you have
I guess this would also include a full wipe? Or is it possible to just update without wipe and still get a good result?

Someone have a good rom like stock android or emui 5 official ?
Thanks... :crying:
Really..
Have you tried to rollback? Or why do you have FRD-L09C900B300? It's a rollback package.
I suggest you to use dload method to rollback to B131.

I have been stuck on B300 also when trying to rollback once or after trying to upgrade via charle method i don't remember. But I end up getting out of it and rolling back to B131 by creating the dload folder with the B131 frimware in my sd-card, and it works. On internal storage it kept telling me something error or invalid packet.
bonne chance
It's good I'm back to stock now I'm gonna do the ghost waiting for a version of the honor 8 lineage os 14.1 stable
i'm on b380 with some update
Merci

i am stuck at C900B300 version. I am on L-09 model. when i am try to follow last step that is create dload folder in sdcard root and save marshmallow app then press power+vol_down+vol_up button update didn’t take. Most of us didn't liked the oreo... As there is no audio mods, full theme support, no xposed etc...so I decided to downgrade to nougat.. As dloading b340 works for BLN L22 version.. But for me it didn't work... Any build was not working on dload method.. So i tried HWOTA method.. HW OTA works fine but at the end emui fails to install the system...
So I got a way from various senior members...
Using Hu Ru Updater..
Just download latest version Hu Ru Updater and full firmware of Nougat(donot download rollback package) .. Like b362 build.. Download all the three zips and hu ru updater and place it in a single folder of SD card..
Then go to twrp, format data... Reboot twrp... Then wipe data and system from twrp and start the hu ru updater..
After the process, just boot to stock recovery and format your device... That's it... You're on Nougat ?

Nice guide. I know a couple of people will benefit from this. Now, I agree that Oreo or EMUI 8 sucks. However if you're up for it, flash a custom ROM. There are a couple of (now discontinued) good Pie ROMs available. You can try those. Sound Mod and Xposed still won't work (Xposed isn't available yet for Pie) and substratum works but requires root. Or an Oreo custom ROM. Sound Mod also won't work but the other two will. The only requirement is an unlocked Bootloader.

Hi guys i need some apps on my Mate 9 lite but i cant upgrade i tryed to install B342 and B380 but always fail
A few months ago i buy this phone and upgraded to B380 but failed due to the CUST Problem and corruption making the phone unusable (Safetyanet fail and apps like HMS/Themes etc does't work) so i downgrade to B120 using a rollback package from GR5 2017
Its possible to upgrade again or my phone deads with android 6.0 (Beta firmware i got the beta club app)
I fixed that using the update zip (No the update.app) using twrp for emui 4x (3.0.2.0 works fine 3.1 + doesn't boot) then flashed the data update.app to fix the ndrm90-test keys the firmware Is still broken but i got safety net finally working
