(Q) Wireless Tether

Alright everybody. I have just a quick question for you. Obviously having a password on the built in wifi tether cm10.1 offers doesn't work. Does anybody else knows of a alternative wifi tether application so I can use the wifi encryption? This is vital for me because I live in an apartment so every time I activate it, everybody uses it lol
Thank you in advance!

Connect to ad hoc and use mobile data simultaneously?

Hey guys,
Okay here's the scenario. I'm at work and I've got my laptop(Win7), android phone{KitKat GPE) and a good 3G reception. I would like to create an ad-hoc connection from my laptop to the phone for media file sharing only and still be connected to 3G on my phone for Internet. I have no intention of sharing the internet to my laptop as I know it will be hungry for updates and hog most of my bandwidth. Is it possible to connect to WiFi and mobile data simultaneously and if so please advice me on how i can go about it. Appreciate any input.

N920P wifi / hotspot hack????

Hello all, I am pretty new to all this rooted phone stuff. I have a question for thought I would like to know if it's possible to have a work-around or sorts for being able to use a wifi signal for data, while on the line mind you, to hotspot my laptop. So is it possible to use wifi along with my hotspot? I just want to know if so I will get to work figuring it out right away? Thank you all for your time, effort and consideration in this matter.
You cannot use wifi and hotspot at the same time on any phone. The hotspot uses the wifi radio to transmit a wifi signal for other devices to connect to, it cannot go both ways.

Creating An Access Point

Hello I'm sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but I am new to these forms and I have a simple question about creating an access point on my tablet. My Lenovo tablet is rooted and I've been searching for an app that will create an access point.
What I want to do is use my wifi and then use my tablet to connect to that wifi and then use the tablet as a wifi extender. I know they have fqrouter2, but that is for any os under 4.4. I'm currently on 4.4.4. Any suggestions for an app that can turn my android device into a wifi extender?
Thank you in advance.

Have you tried PDAnet for tablets, or Foxfi?
Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk
Yes I have tried Pdanet. That will disconnect me off of my current wifi and try to host a hotspot off of my own cell phone data.

I don't think it's possible to have both WiFi and WiFi hotspot turned on simultaneously.
What I do though, is connect my phone to the WiFi, then use the Bluetooth tethering feature on the phone to create the access point. That could work for you, if all your devices support Bluetooth tethering.
The range isn't as good as your WiFi router, but its roughly as good as the WiFi AP you'd create with your phone/tablet
There use to be an app that was called Fqrouter2 that did. Unfortunately my worthless Vita doesn't support Bluetooth tethering for internet access.
