Hi everyone,
So I just flashed Cyanogenmod on my G2X and it's fantastic. However, I made a stupid mistake of not backing up my sms and calendar events through titanium backup. I did however, before I erased everything from my phone, copy all the contents to my computer. Is there a specific folder where these were stored? Can I just copy and paste them to my phone?
The Calendar I didn't even think of because I thought it's automatically getting synced with google but apparently not because when I loaded it after the flash, the contents are about a month old...so I'm assuming that everything that was up to date was stored only on my phone and I'm hoping I can save it! I really need to get that info back...
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
If you were signed into your Google account and you had data your calendar events should have automatically and almost immediately uploaded to Google's servers. All of the data is stored in an sqlite database on the phone. I don't know any way to access the data on the database in a backup file. Maybe some more expert users can help you.
Hi thanks for the reply.
I thought my account should be getting updated too, which is why I never even bothered to back it up (I guess I should have checked first). My calendar information is like a month old...I have no idea why this happened.
I was hoping it would also be on a file stored somewhere on the phone or SD card which I can just copy and paste to my phone (since I moved everything to my computer before deleting).

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Did you have multiple accounts signed into Google. Sometimes the wrong account is syncing with the calendar entries you created. Check your other accounts and the events might have backed up to that account, instead of the one you intended.
Hi all,
I am currently having trouble with an apps called Wechat. Everything was fun last night when suddenly all my data just went missing. I have to relogin my facebook, whatsapp, wechat etc... luckily whatsapp is having an autobackup everyday.
My wechat however starts from a totally zero fresh environment, all my previous chat history was gone. Below are my findings.
under \tencent\MicroMsg\, i found 2 folders with similar filename, b21e2321j232112ghe12112\ and b21e2321j232112ghe12112temp2120212\ , the difference is with the temp2120212 behind. I tried to browse thru these 2 folders and found that the one with temp2120212 actually contains my previous chat history, voice history etc, the folder size is around 64mb. However the one without temp2120212 behind doesnt have any history data and the folder size is only 28mb.
Im guessing that somehow Wechat install a new profile in my hp and put the older version to another folder with temp2120212 behind. May I know is there anyway to force Wechat to run the previous profile ? I am sure my history data are still there, just not sure how to force the apps to go and read from there.
I tried to rename the 2 folders but won't help.
Please help. Thanks lot.
Have you managed to solve the problem?
Okay, weird issue/bug I'm having. So I downloaded some photos from an app; let's just call them private photos that I wanted to copy off of my phone. For reference, the app is called "Couple", pretty much just a communication app tailored for couples.
I downloaded two pictures, got them onto my desktop via Airdroid, then deleted the photos off my phone. Or so I thought? I downloaded the photo editing app Snapseed, and it prompts you when you open up the app to open up any pic. It'll pull up any recent pictures from your gallery. And lo and behold, the photos I thought I deleted are showing up right there. I dug in with a file explorer (Solid Explorer, also tried the stock file explorer that came with the phone), did a search for the file name and nothing's coming up. Snapseed tells you the file name, but not the file path.
Snapseed is the only app that seems to be recognizing these phantom pictures. They do not show up in my stock photo/gallery app. Nothing in file explorers, as mentioned prior. Did a search for the exact file name & other variants just in case they're in some temp folder or something, but no luck. They're not backed up to Google Photos or anything.
What I've tried:
Re-downloading the picture(s) from Couple to try and delete it again. Only creates a duplicate. So two of each would show up in Snapseed, and I'm able to delete the brand new copy, but the older ones persist.
Deleted the Couple photos folder altogether (it didn't have anything in it, figured I'd just give it a shot). Every time you save a photo from the Couple app, it creates a folder, /storage/emulated/0/Couple/Photos. Deleted it, didn't help.
Un-installed & re-installed both Couple and Snapseed. No change. Phantom photos still present.
Cleared phone cache
I did just get this phone brand new, and I could probably just do a factory reset to make this issue go away; I'd just hate to do so when I just finished installing and setting up all my apps and would have to do it all over again. I'd like to see if there's any other thing I can try. Again, these were private photos, and wouldn't want them accidentally popping up when I'm trying to do stuff in Snapseed.
Phone is a Sprint LG G6 (LG-LS993), running Android 7.0. No root.
They're not all private but let's assume they are. After I delete photos and videos somehow they're still in my phone, actually I think they're being synced somewhere, but I know this because whenever I do something with any app that is trying to access my files to say upload a pic for an avatar, it uses the system's file retrieving ability to access my media and it's accessing all media I've recently dealt with saved and deleted. But when I delete something, I want it gone, not saved somewhere. How do I access these files and stop this phone from saving them?
Hi there,
I am not able to find any photos in QuickPic Gallery cloud app which I have backed app. There is almost 50GB+ and I am unable to view it. I am also trying to access from Web view but there is also nothing showing. I read one XDA thread saying that CM Cloud is taking down their server in April 2017 (but photos were backing up till last week i.e. 28th December 2018) and they informed users to restore their data. but last week I came to know about it and I also didn't get notification in QuickPic Gallery app about the same.
Is there any solution? that will be a big relief. Thanks!!!
I'm facing the same problem. I have around 43GB of photos in there. Now I cannot access too, I didnt know about them terminating their service, else I would have back up first. No notifications or email.
Same here, it's backing up the pictures, but I can't view any of the backed up folders.
My Solution:
1: Go from your Windows PC to https://cloud.cmcm.com and login with your CM Cloud login from QuickPic
2. On top click on the link "How to download photos from QuickPic"
3. Follow the instructions
4. Rename the downloaded fotos with an exif-tool
5. done!
hi fehrcomp, thank you so much for sharing. i did login and didnt able to restore from quickpic. it shows : {"ret":-1,"data":{"message":"wrong token","error":5}}
what did i do wrong?
I lost about 3000 pics using Quick Pick and CM Cloud... I log in to the CM Cloud and the pics are not there. If you have a chance, get your pics out of there, quickly!
I'm just downloading my photos as we speak from that **** of a cloud service, as I have recieved notice about CM shutting it down (and it should).
Note that in order to see your pictures, you have to login into https://cloud.cmcm.com/p/disk/ and look for a folder called CM Qickpic, and in that folder theres a folder called "Original Photos". All my photos are there, and I'm using their even more **** of a tool to download it...
Hope you guys get your precious stuff and get the hell out of there ASAP!
P.S.- Anyone already using a similar (prefferably more stable and trusted) service? I'm syncing my stuff on Google Photo at this moment...
Best of luck!
@fehrcomp
4. Rename the downloaded fotos with an exif-tool
How did you do this? my exif seems to be deleted/incorrect for some pics
Already done,all my pics was downloaded followed these guide above.... thanks guys.
@tintumat
I had correct exif data. Otherwhise you could not use a exif tool.
@keeekeee
You tried an other browser?
Awesome, glad to hear!
Can anyone help in this ?
i have 10 years of photos there 134gb cannot access them, the only way that worked for me but still suffering was installing bluestack on my PC and then install older version of quickpic, login and then i see everything i started to download the pictures and now im stuck because bluestack allows only 65gb of storage and im still half way restoring, no luck through their ****ty website!
If anyone can help in this will be appreciated.
I can't even login, when I use the link provided to login from a computer I get "You have logged out, please log in again". The pw is correct because when I am using a bogus pw (for testing) it actually shows me that the email or pw is incorrect. How can I login? I even reset my pw 2 times, but I can't login. On the phone it works, I see the pictures, but I cannot download them (restore failed).
I have a total of 4.9 TB of storage at cm cloud, whereas the used space is about 5 GB, but In cloud there are only 19 photos remaining.
I backed up all the data from the cloud before the service shut down but I was curious if they deleted our data, and they didn't, and also there is no option to delete your photos.
