OK, I tried with Jetcar Stunt 1 and 2 only, San Andreas is not free I don't have your touch problems, on every game I tried too. Just a question, you use a screen protector? I know that can be a problem.

Anyone know/have any that work properly? Trying to use gameboid, but since x10 has no multi-touch, playing games like street fighter sucks. You can't pull off any combos since it only registers one tap at a time, and have to move forward first, then punch, then block etc. cant do them with one motion.
Thanks
What do you mean by work properly? No emulator will give X10 the multi-touch function, so it will always be a hard time playing games like street fighter
I've been using a combination of the on screen depad, the two volume control, and the camera button. This lowers the frustration behind the lack of multitouch as you can use the on-screen and hardware buttons simultaneously.
Even classic pokemon games suck Trying to just move around, you have to take finger off the screen for every time you want to change direction. Never really had a problem with no multi touch until now

Then you've got the wrogn emulator. Pokemon works just fine for me.. I use the controls as a joystick... no need to remove the finger. atleast not with Gameboid or something.. Not for me.
I sometimes connect a Wiimote to my X10 using WiimoteController and play using that.
Is there a way to play a two player game in this case "Castle Crashers" when one player uses keyboard and the another uses a tablet?

Now that's a bummer. Were messing with some apps and joystick drivers on PC all day, had no success...
Every emulator I have tried is not seeing the bottom shoulder buttons. Some don't see the analog button either. Any suggestions? Makes emulators hard to manage when I can't find anywhere to assign the START and SELECT buttons.

Shoulder buttons (L1 L2 R1 R2) all work fine on Retroarch. Was playing some Doom2 earlier today and all is well.

RetroArch does work indeed. The other emulators need to step up their games. Then again, Shield is still new.
Same for all controllers. Bottom triggers do not map for most emulators.
If you don't like retroarch and are rooted tincore keymapper can map all the buttons to something any emulator can see. Just assign the buttons on the shield to a,b,c,d,e,f or 1,2,3,4 5 ... etc then emulators have no problem detecting them. Just have to open tincore before you use your emulator.
Sounds good. I've been messing with RetroArch all day and I am impressed. Just as soon as I can use the Analog Sticks in it we should be good to go.
After playing my Shield for days now and only using RetroArch I am reassessing my opinion. The D-Pad is not as good as it should be. But that is really my only complaint. Other then that the Shield is my dream handheld.

Personnaly, I assign START and SELECT on R3 et L3, which is great in a lot of emulated games.
What emulators are you having problems with?
I also couldn't get mupen to recognize the triggers but after selecting Dual Shock 3 input mode in settings I believe, I was able to map buttons to them as well.

After playing for a week I would have to say that I have compensated for the crappy D-Pad. It still messes up here and there but hasn't ruined it for me. I highly recommend the Shield to any Retro Gamers. Just don't sit on the toilet with it. You'll never leave!!!
I can't find an answer to this online, if I buy any of the need for speed games for android(not streaming) can I use the shields controls/buttons to play it, or am I forced to use the touch screen?
Unless tincore or similar will work for that, no the need for speed games for android don't support the shield controls.

Doperoms.com has pretty much any n64 rom I've looked for. Tested mario kart 64, 1080 snowboarding, goldeneye, tony hawk's pro skater, super smash bros, and turok , and I can confirm they all work on mupen64 on nexus player.
I recommend sideloading dolphin browser, then going to doperoms.com within dolphinbrowser on the NP to download the roms directly into the download folder. Also, no need to unzip the zip file. Mupen64 opens the zip files fine.
@inwisso thanks for sharing, just bought your app, havent tried it yet, using my free $20 for emulator roms and apps exclusively for nexus player

one drawback is you cant connect a N64 controller to it using the usb adapter. on the fire tv this adapter with the n64 controller worked fine.
Thx

I think if you get an OTG cable USB to Micro USB it should work

Is it possible to get Mupen 64 to work with the nexus game controller pads? I tried it, but so far am unable to get a start button, nor can I figure out a way to map buttons.
Any help appreciated!
EDIT: nevermind, got it sorted, for some reason when I first went to controller settings, mappings wouldn't show. However I happened to use the back button and they showed, and I was able to map the start button.

Thanks for actually replying with an answer. I know I can do a Google search. But and it's nice to know a source that somebody has already used and works well for them. . Now with that being said I am a fan of let me Google that for you. Actually learned about that on one of these forms. Thanks again for taking the time to provide an answer.
Good video. Left a comment on the video on YouTube. But just to simplify things for others if you use the nyko playpad controller you have the mouse function built in and won't need a separate mouse or adapter.

I had another OTG cable that i used and the nexus player read the n64 usb adapter just fine. that was the last thing holding me back from completely switching to the nexus player from the fire tv

Can you explain how you did this? When I go to the controller mappings screen, I can press buttons and see what they correspond to on screen, but I cannot map anything (or simply don't know how to). What's your trick?
