dialer and messaging apps crashing with dual sim cards - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

hi guys I set up both sim cards in my new mate 9 (MHA-L00) and I'm able to receive calls for both lines, messages only work in sim1 not sure why, my main problem is I can make any calls or send any sms/mms because both apps are crashing as soon as I open them.
If I remove 2nd sim card everything works fine. Have any of you experienced same behavior?

issue is gone after I received latest OTA

[Q] How to automatically select a SIM for calls or texts on a DUAL SIM phone?

Hi,
I have a Xiaocai X9 dual sim phone. I have two sim cards with complementary contracts. The first sim comes with free texts and internet, while the second sim card comes with free calls. However, if I accidentally use the first sim card for calls or the second for texts and internet, it can get pretty expensive.
I use MIUI and often it automatically selects sim card 1 instead of 2 for calls. Therefore, I need a way to disable or block all outgoing calls on sim card 1 and ideally all outgoing texts and internet connections for sim card 2.
Please post here if you know a solution. Thanks!
Does anyone know a handset or app which allows you to restrict calls to small set of numbers, while allowing SMS to any number?
I've been playing around with my HTC Desire S, and you can use Fixed Dialing Numbers (FDN) to restrict calls to a small set of numbers, but that also restricts SMS to that same set of numbers.
I'm using miui v5. While making call it asks from which
Sim you want to place call. Also for sms while sending sms you get 2 options sim1 sim2 select appropriate option to send sms. I have not seen any song to set default option for sms/call

I also use MIUI v5. There are certain scenarios when MIUI automatically starts a call with sim1 without the prompt. Furthermore, there is also the risk to accidentally select the wrong sim card for a call or a text message - as it happened to my once. I therefore still try to find a fool-proof solution - either an app or an OS.
Hi guys

when I'm trying to make a call from contacts list it use sim1 automatically!
If it haave any solution please help....

Z5P unable to call or recieve call

I just bought z5p dual SIM, but I only use 1 SIM, and I have a problem, I can't call or receive call, it won't even ring or show miss call, and when I call other people, it automatically cut off immediately after I call, The people won't receive that call either. Other than call & receive call, everything worked normal, I can use that SIM card to SMS & go internet, just can't call. But when I put that SIM card onto other phone, it can call. It definitely the phone's problem but I don't know whats wrong. I tried to go thru the SIM card & call setting on the phone, some settings like 'call barring' & 'additional settings' , when I click those settings it shows an error "Network or SIM card error". Did anyone know how to fix this? Thx.

FDR-L09 mobile network unavailable

Hi, first time posting here, so tell me if I miss anything out. After a few weeks of using my phone I've ran into a problem that it can't make or receive calls and neither sends nor receives sms messages, but mobile data works just fine. The only momentary solution I've found so far is placing my sim card into a different slot and not setting it to 3g/4g, then the calls and sms work properly, but it automatically sets to 3g/4g some time later. Have sent the phone to warranty repairs and they just reinstalled my android, which didn't help any. Also the sim card is not the problem since it works in other devices and no card works in the honor I have. Any ideas what might be wrong?
Bump(?) :')

Dual Sim: Calls on Sim2 don`t show up

I have a very specific and very annoying problem:
Incoming calls on my SIM in Slot 2 don`t show up. Only upon the end of the call I get a notification of the missed call.
Incoming calls on SIM in Slot 1 work just fine.
Problem persists when changing SIM cards, Slot 2 wont show incoming calls. All notifications are turned on. Sometimes it rings, but shows no call - so no possibility to pick up.
Problem is solved when I delete the cache of the Telephone App, but reappear after a few days.
Any ideas what could cause this problem and how to get rid of it?

General Google Messages reply issue w/group messages and dual sim setup (ATT & T-Mobile)

Device/Sim Setup: Sim Unlocked ATT S22 Ultra on SM-S908U1 firmware with eSim set for T-Mobile and physical sim ATT.
Issue: If T-Mobile is set as the primary sim for calls/data, Google Messages (version that came with the phone) cannot send replies to group messages that include my ATT number unless I switch the primary sim to ATT. The same happens if ATT is the default sim for calls/data and I try to reply to group messages that include my T-Mobile number.
Troubleshooting: I tried Google's recommended fix for Google Messages on the S22U, but it did not resolve the issue. I also
Other Options: If I use Samsung Messages or Textra, I can respond to group messages without issue. Although, both of the aforementioned apps work, I prefer Google Messages.
Question: Is this expected behavior? If not, is there a fix for this issue?
Thanks.
Unfortunately I have the same issue with google messages on S22 Ultra. But it works just fine with dual sim on pixel 6.
I think its because of the samsung sim manager setup

thanks for your reply. i had the same experience on the Pixel 6 Pro, but sent it back to Google because of the horrible connection issues.
