I've managed to accidentally brick my MI4C while flashing recovery. There is no way to boot now, no fastboot either.
Phone doesn't respond to charging cable, but I'm able to connect it to the PC in the EDL mode (shows up as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008).
I've downloaded the QPST package and used the QFIL emergency flashing utility following a guide from xiaomifirmware.com.
QFIL always finishes without any error (tried waiting for >45 mins), however the ROM doesn't seem to be installed - and the phone is still completely dead.
Is there any hope left? Here is the output log from QFIL:

With Xiaomi we generally use MiFlash rather than QPST/QFIL. I suppose you had tried the latest version of MiFlash but this device is old and an old version of MiFlash/MiPhone has to be used. Please get this 2015 version, it works for sure. Also for soft-brick recovery we use this old ROM "libra_images_6.1.7_20151221.0000.11_5.1_cn_b09dac70a0.tgz" and then flash new stuff.
So, enter the EDL/9008 mode again and flash the old ROM with the old MiFlash.
Relax, it will be fixed :highfive:

Thank you, this version of MiFlash worked! :good:
I flashed the old 5.1 ROM with MiFlash, then the older TWRP version, then flashed the official 7.0 ROM, then unlocked bootloader, then the new TWRP, then my desired ROM and now I'm good to go again.
QFIL is such a finicky tool, I don't want to ever see that again haha
I got into a similar situation.
The device is bootlooping and does not have recovery or atleast it is not accessible. I can boot in fastboot mode. The bootloader is locked and it does not let me flash recovery or rom.
I have requested and got permision to unlock the phone but the unlocking fails at the second step (don't remember the mesaage right now, I'll try to update this response later).
I have tried flashing what is stated in this post but it did not work. If anyone could list the specific details required for each step I could give it a second try.
Anyone willing to help? Thanks

This is the output for the following commands:

$ fastboot oem unlock

finished. total time: -0.000s
$ fastboot oem edl

OKAY [ 0.000s]
finished. total time: 0.000s
The last command took some time to return even though it says 0.000.
I do see a 9008 in the devices admin.

My problem was that MiFlash2015 did not let me communicate with the phone under edl mode. It simply refused to connect.
I have managed to recover it by attempting the recover method described above after disabling "Driver Signature Verification".
To disable it under windows 10, the easiest way I have found is to restart with driver signature verification turned off.
To do so: Configuration > Updates and Security > Recover > Reset now
Once the blue menu appears: Solve problems > Advanced options > Configure start > Reset
Then you will be prompted to select an option. It is probably to "F7" to disable signature verification.
Big thanks to @k23m for helping me recover the phone.

Edit updated guide:https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/howto-updated-guide-to-unlock-t4168771
I am.no longer updating this guide anymore. Thabks to @Emanuel00000
For making an updated guide!!
Welp thanks for the firehouse leak we can now access flash any partition we want.
NOTE: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ASNYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DEVICE. THIS IS DONE BY YOUR OWN JUDGEMENT IF YOU WANT TO DO THIS OR NOT.
ILL MAKE A VIDEO LATER THIS WEEK TO MAKE IT EASIER
It's possible to flash. Modified partition/image file without a bootloader unlock but I'm not 100% positive. .
FAQ"
1,) I keep getting shara failed, the firehose is in the right folder and the xml files as well. Everything is in the same folder.
A. There are two reasons why it may fail.
1 Make sure you install the drivers correctly.!! Windows 10 has driver signature enforcment enabled on default so you need to disable that and install the 9008 drivers. To check if your drivers are installed correctly open up Device manager via searching it in the windows bar then go into ports and make sure theres no question mark or an yellow exclamation (!) sign next to it. If there is you have you disable signature enforcement and install the drivers manually. To do that you can google it cause theres a bunch of ways to do it.
2. if the drivers are installed correctly then you should try two things. One run it as admin and check if you can open up parition manager or load the files. and two is to reboot into edl mode by holding down Vol - and then power then once it turns off and on again at the lg logo, hold it down and reboot into edl mode again.
Requirements:
qfil
firehose sdm845_lge
(optional)v35 abl bootloader to unlock
Link to download these files thanks to @Xsavi https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/development/unlock-lg-v40-via-9008-root-t-mobile-t4042207
Steps:
Install qfil
Make sure you go to configuration then firehose settings and change from emmc to ufs
Turn off your phone and boot into edl mode (when phone is off connect usb or leave usb connected and immediately hold vol down and power buttons and keep rapidly pressing the vol up)
It should on a black screen but if it turns on try again, then check device manager and make sure its shows qhubulk or something like that. i(f you don't see it check in ports and should say that or Qualcomm 9008(com#) #= whatever port which means its installed and you can skip the next step)
Install the Qualcomm drivers by right clicking on the qbulkhub thing and click properties then the driver tab click update then search automatically.
start up qfil then load the firehose file in programmer path
don't worry about the XML path and stuff just go on the top click tools and partition manager
(NOTE: if there's no port open or the partition manager won't open, try rebooting into edl mode again)
Window should pop up with a list of partitions, right click on the ones you want to backup and then check on the bottom log window of qfil, it should say where its being kept and maybe percentages too if its a big partition let it finish.
Should be back to C:/appdata/roaming/Qualcomm/com#
Your partitions backed up and should be bin files note what is on the qfil log window should say the saved to somethinf. Bin
To flash:
do steps 1-5
except backing up use the load image option and load your .img file or the .bin file
For abl: back up the abl_a partition then load the image for v35 and reboot then do fastboot OEM unlock them. Then reflash the abl bootloader that you backed up by entering edl or using fasfboot flash.

Then reflash the abl bootloader that you backed up by entering edl or using fasfboot flash.

i have lg v7 eaw during cross flash i unplugged usb cable accidentaly and it showed red warning message on display. no boot no fastboot no download. i followed ur steps to put it in 9008 and installed drivers accordingly. im using win 1032bit. but qfil fails at ist step. it doesnt flash firehouse via prtition manager. every time sahar read error and sahara protocol error appears. is some issue in qfil or firehouse sdp 845 file is not ok? or my mobile is having some other issue?
does any one khow how to redo all partitions? I erased all partition by mistake

I'm not sure if it's the same issue I had but the airplane mode trick on windows 10 worked for me otherwise I'd get a communion error, also I have win10 on test mode. Fyi
I'm currently stuck on 9008 mode hope i can fix it

Rename the file removing any 'space' from it and try.
I am not familiar with this step 18. Maybe cause I have EMW.
You can also load back the partition you want using qfil.

I hope this an appropriate place for this post. I debated putting it in the Q&A section...rest assured, I learn quickly! Here is what I am currently faced with:
End Goal: Running Lineage OS (or other, i.e. UT) in its most stable form on the LG G7 ThinQ.
Current hardware: G710AWM Android 10, 30b. Windows 10 Pro Ver. 2004
Questions to try to keep this on point for you experienced and busy people:
1. Is the problem here Android 10? I have seen forum posts saying I need Android 9 to unlock bootloader. I have seen forum posts saying the version number does not matter. Downgrading the OS is not something I have acted upon yet.
2. Is an ADB response REQUIRED while in EDL mode? ADB reports the serial number of the G7 when in photo transfer USB mode. When in EDL, ADB does not report a serial number. ".\adb commands" from power shell.
Symptom:
1. QFIL - boot phone into EDL while QFIL open; QFIL detects 9008 port. Select firehose elf file, confirm UFS. Partition Manager reports Download failed / cannot find the file specified.
Reboot G7 into EDL mode while QFIL is open; Partition Manager reports Sahara error.
This is a result I can repeat and replicate over and over again.
I have been reading, researching, searching, and reading more to try to solve this with the information that is in this forum. It seems I'm missing something SUPER simple (like A10vsA9?). For the better part of the past 36 hours, I have rebooted the phone and computer, purchased and used new USB-C cables, installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, re-downloaded USB Drivers, firehose, G7 Unlock, G7 Unbrick.....
Not sure if the qfil log file will help:

Try files from the verizon unlock guide in guides section. I have a g7 emw and i unlocked using those files. Btw you have not mention what model yours is.
If that doesnt work, try from a different PC.
After you get qfil to work, take complete backup of all your partitions.
After that you need to be on android 8 to follow that guide.

Thank you, lefttobleed. I will eagerly jump into the Verizon unlock guide as suggested. I will make 6 backup copies of my partitions once qfil gets going!!
The model number I am working with is: LM-G710AWM // Android 10 Software Version: G710AWM30b
Thank you, again!

Thank you again, lefttobleed. Following the Verizon unlock guide, I was able to access partition manager through QFIL. I believe, either the re-downloaded QPST (version?) or the SIMPLE overlooked item was within the reinstallation of QPST... I care not to admit what the potential root cause of this might be
Last night was spent backing up the partitions of the G710AWM. While perhaps overkill, I captured the long list from partition manager in order to correlate the backup *.bin files. I sincerely hope there is in fact 93 partitions...and that I did not miss one in my exhaustion.
While there is no panic yet; I do suspect I am again confusing myself while going back and forth between guides (NOT a complaint in any form, I rather enjoy everything I have learned and completed thus far). On the note of the various guides, thank you to: Emanel000000, Awesomeslayerg, netookska05 and lefttobleed. I cannot possibly thank everyone......
Edit - I missed a few key points: I think from the AS guide, only the abl_a.bin is replaced; when I did this and rebooted, I could not access fastboot after approximately 20 - 30 attempts; the phone booted up normally (loading from b partition?). Booted back into EDL and replaced the abl_b.bin as per this (Eman00) guide. Backed up laf_a and laf_b to be safe. Rebooted phone to red triangle, and eventually fastboot loaded. Tried fastboot oem unlock and received "failed: device unlocked!". Fastboot continued to report this "fail device unlocked" message.
My G7 now boots to red triangle, and eventually to fastboot. No problem communicating via command line. Rebooting in various ways results in: EDL, download mode, firmware update mode and fastboot (after red-tri). I am about to use QFIL to flash V35 again to A/B, then erase the LAF.BIN files. I believe I deviated somewhere between this guide and Awesomeslayerg's guide.
Happy Oct. 31, for those that do something today!
Thank you, again!

Welcome... Very good progress. Even i sat and backed up my complete partitions tediously.
Anyways, Doesnt that error mean your phone is already unlocked? Check in developer options if it is unlocked.
If not unlocked, make sure you are making changes after cross flashing to an android 8 rom. Refer images in v40 guide linked inside verizon guide, to see how the bootloader should look if successfully flashed.
