I've been looking around on the forum and googling for a while for an application like this. But would anyone mind creating an application where when we lock the phone we can still change the music and shows what song is playing. I get tired of unlocking my phone just to change my music.

I agree with shu8i. Use Co0kie's Home Tab v1.8.5 .
It will do what you want perfectly and is probably the best app available.
i'm ok with DINIK, Cookie home tab 1.8.5 is excellent ! and you can listening your music in lockscreen. but you can't change album or (my selection) when you are in lockscreen, play, stop, next ect... it' ok

I really don't want to flash my HD2 i'm not very good with things like that. If there isn't just a cab file to do it, I probably would just deal with it. I like how my phone is besides a few things. Maybe in the future I would want to flash it but right now I like mos things about my phone.
CHT is just a cab you install. Preferably make a backup of your phone, just in case because you never know. After installing CHT you just restart the phone and can customize everything. You should install CHTEditor of course!
btw is anybody expierencing the fact that, if you put the music player on the lock screen, sometimes when you unlock the phone it seems like it has played a few tracks on it's own? Sometimes I see that I'm 3 or 4 tracks ahead in the middle of another track without actually doing that. somebody else who had that?
Yeah Cookie Lock is awesome, I missed that option from Android with Sense. You can adjust the size of the player and everything
Is there an application that will allow music player on the lock screen and will also allow for a passcode?

I would kill for a good program that does this... cookies always crashes on me and either unlocks when it shouldn't or wont unlock when it should, or just gives me a sleep of death and becomes unresponsive... it's annoying because it looks awesome and I want to use it...
(tab hangup and answer a few times whilst the phone is locked and you can make a call to the first person on your recent call lists without touching the slider onscreen to unlock... which was happening to me in my pocket, also occasionally I would hit the hangup key to unlock it and the home screen would just appear, not even trying to lock the screen )
S2U2 does it if you have S2P installed but I find S2U2 blows through my battery really fast for some reason... and my system regularly becomes unresponsive.

I have searched Google and must say I can't find any solution for changing SMS WakeUp / Notification pop-up.
It is so annoying when the screen lights up.
I would also like to be able to disable that it shows the message in the top statusbar.
I have unlocked my phone by finding the "ChevronWP7" unlocker tool and send (by e-mail) the "ChevronCert" to my WP7 HTC Trophy and installed the certificate. Downloaded "Tom XAP Installer v1.2.zip" and installed "RegistryEditor 1.1.0.0.xap" where I have tried several registry fixes found on different websites: "modify-sms-notifications-in-windows-phone-7" but nothing worked also found a solution here and the same again nothing i working:

"DisableSMSWakeUpEvent"=dword:1

Sorry guys, but why would you want this? I hate it on my Android. I have to push the power button every single time, which in turn, kills my hardware buttons.
At least you guys go to your lockscreen with a notification at the top, I had to download an app to wake the screen and it bypasses the lockscreen and I text/call people every single day lol. I wish it would just GO TO THE LOCKSCREEN!!!

@Dj21o: With respoect, I can think of at least one good reason why this setting should be "settable" and that is privacy. I may be in an environment where I don't want just anyone to be able to see an SMS as it arrives just by looking at my screen.
The fact that you would prefer it this way is, of course, good, too, but I think ther choice should be in the hands of the user.

Yeah, it should be available for those that want it, and for those who don't... It is a simple setting that make it a big deal for users, and I can totally see where you are coming from. Sometimes my phone unlocks, and that is swiping left to right. I imagine it happens much more swiping up lol.
There is a site where you can put down ideas for developers to look at, and people vote for them. I can post the link of the site if you want.

I want it too because I have Whatsapp group where people keep messaging all the time. And the screen remains on all the time. which simple means that my battery drain faster because screen is always on.

So, disable Toast notifications in WhatsApp? That's a (required) per-app setting, no need to request an OS feature for it!
Why you don't flip you phone down? If proximity sensor detect something close to phone display it will don't turn display on when toast notification pop-up.
Is the turn by turn working properly for you guys? If i want directions read to me, i have to tap the screen. Just wondering if this is like this for everyone, if so it must just be part of the beta. or maybe it's has something to do with the fact that i'm in canada...

That's how it works. It does not automatically read to you. You tap anywhere on the screen to have it talk. An different implementation.
well that's kinda silly in my opinion, why would they do that? I noticed my screen also times out during navigation, and when i turn it back on it has to reacquire a gps lock...

Dunno. In some regards, it probably makes sense. I use a Garmin for normal GPS navigation, and really, i'm terribly annoyed every time it has to talk. Especially when it repeats itself over and over (such as "recalculating"). The fact that I simply tap the screen and the phone will tell me directions when I need to hear it is rather useful to me. Also the phone doesn't automatically recalculate, which I think makes the most sense. When I drive, and I accidentally go off course, I dont need my GPS to recalculate every 5 seconds. I need to slow down, get my bearings, and then have it recalculate. Because I tell the phone when it recalculate, its not yelling at me every 5 seconds that its recalculating. In other words, I have more control over the GPS this way.
At the same time, I do see the value in automatic direction narration and automatic recalculation. It would have been nice to be able to choose between the two.
Ah. My only real beef with Mango. While not too terribly offputting, I'm wondering if MS was trying to be too different here.
I don't use GPS at all as I'm mostly in Dallas and know my way around the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. But, I do travel from time to time and GPS can come in handy. That being said, the design choices here seem a wee bit weird.
You tap it to get voice and it only notifies you if you've made a correct or incorrect turn. By that time, it's too late. And, you have to turn around. Now, you don't have to look at he screen as you can tap while watching the road. So, it's not as if it's any less safe but... really?
Edit: Reading prjk's post above, I guess if MS revealed the reason behind this particular design choice, it might more sense for all of us.

It is very weak, compared to every real navigation system in existence. Not having the option to have the instructions automatically read to you, and not providing any kind of audible warning when you approach a turn, and not automatically rerouting you when you miss a turn, all combine to make the system almost useless.
I'll either be keeping AT&T Navigator, or switching to T-B-T from GPS Tuner if they ever get all of the kinks worked out of their system.
Most people use this thing called a radio when they're driving, or they're having conversations in the car, and I think this approach works perfect during those situations. My car has a built in navigation which automatically lowers the radio and then gives my the direction, but the phone, unfortunatelly, can't do that... So it's best if, when you need the direction, you put the radio down, just randomly tap, and have the kind woman give you the information rather than missing it or it interrupting you... Just my opinion though.

Another great example. I always have my music blasting in the car so I can't hear the directions anyway. With this method, I can pause the music, tap the screen to hear my directions, and resume my music. I'm not trying to hear directions over my music, or having to bend to the will of the GPS and have it tell me what to do when it wants to.

I'm definitely not trying to rain on anybody's parade here, but there isn't a person here (unless they're a complete weirdo) who can tell me they haven't been annoyed at the GPS interrupting them. Or at missing the directions, and having to struggle to find them. The phone DOES make a noise when a correct turn was taken, and a different one for an incorrect turn, so it does alert you to some degree, but I like the power being in your hands...

Not being zealous, but seeing it from both perspectives. They both make sense just fine. Course some people prefer one over the other, and that's perfectly fine too.
IMO, any device whether its your regular Garmin GPS or your Windows Phone device is possible cause for distracted driving. And obviously not understanding or knowing how to use said devices is even more cause for distracted driving.
I'm not sure how you use your GPS devices, but I certainly don't fumble around in my car so it can tell me directions. That sounds like a cause for distracted driving no matter what device you are using. Haha. I would have my phone mounted and already set to navigate. Then when directions are necessary, you just tap on the screen. You tap anywhere on the screen. So you don't even have to look at your phone to hunt for a specific repeat button or something, and that eliminates the need to turn away from the road as well. You would be no more distracted than if you were to have to look at your map on your good old Garmin GPS, or have to tap your Garmin to have it repeat directions that you missed because your music was too loud or because you just weren't paying attention to it. The sounds indicate whether I made my turn or not, then I just tap anywhere on my phone again when I'm ready for the next set of directions. I can tell it to recalculate and resume when I'm ready to get back on course.
Its not perfect, and certainly its not for everyone, but for those who like a little more control over their GPS experience, and a little less annoyance, it makes sense.
Has a propper driving 3d mode been implemented yet? kida seems pointless what they have implemented here to be honest. Hopefully the nokia driving app will be available on the store once they sort themselves out and release a phone for wp7.
edit. Acording to an article i read earlier nokia apps will be available for every wp7 phone, but most likely not ovi maps or navigation, those are being reserved for the nokia handsets.
I think we can all agree that having the directions automatically read to you would be a good *option*, even if it's not enabled by default. I only use the GPS when I have no idea where I'm going, so I need something that tells me how far a turn is, then reminds me as I'm approaching, then tells me that I need to turn now.
The old bing app on WM6.5 worked remarkably well. I wish the WP7 navigation could be configured to function like that. Yes it did talk A LOT and got annoying at times if someone else is in the car, but to have tapping the screen constantly be your only choice for being read directions is even more annoying especially if you are in unfamiliar territory.
Aside from that, I'd also like the option to have it automatically recalculate directions when you make a wrong turn. I can't think of an instance of where I'd miss a turn, then not want it to tell me how to get back on track.
To give the navigation some credit though, I use the Zune software for my music when I'm in the car, and it does pause the music when saying something and then resume it after, which is nice.
I used the gps nav for the first time last night and I must say they have some work to do.
I get what some are saying about it's nice not to be interrupted, but last night I needed to know my directions as they were coming up. Make it an option to not automatically read aloud for those that like that. Currently I wouldnt call this turn by turn voice navigation. Most gps units have the ability of getting details or just the bare minimum as far as guidance goes.
Second thing that really annoys me is the layout of buttons. when you are in the directions mode, and then go to the large map, it's annoying to go back to the directions view. Clicking the directions button brings up the new directions field. Also when in large mode, why can't i get voice guidance.
Lack of landscape mode is annoying as well and seems more like a forgotten feature than anything, there's no reason not to have it since metro isn't in use
There also needs to be the option to allow gps to track you if you have to leave the application to do something else. It takes to long, even though it's pretty fast, to re-aquire the satelites.

I can. If you are driving in a city or very populated area with tiny blocks and roads everywhere. If you miss just one turn, then your GPS starts recalculating for you. It'll tell you to take the next right, but it doesn't recalculate in time because the blocks are so small and the next turn is so close, so by the time its telling you to make the next turn to get back on track, you've missed it. Then GPS has to recalculate again, and you miss your next turn again, and this repeats over and over, along with your GPS yelling "recalculate" "take the next right" over and over again.
This is where I think I'll enjoy the manual recalculation the most. If I miss the turn, I simply wait until I know I can respond properly to the next turn direction, maybe on a longer stretch of road, or maybe I can simply stop or slow down somewhere, then have the phone recalculate once, and get right back on track.

I don't understand how tapping the screen is a good feature? If your voice navigation doesn't tell you to make a turn ahead of time, then that makes the navigation useless...If you're in an unfamiliar area, how are you supposed to know when to tap?

That'e easy. Anytime is a good time to tap if you are in an unfamiliar area. That's the point of manually controlling when you need (or do not) need directions. You choose when you want your phone to tell you where to go. Then once you've started, the phone makes a sound when you are on track, just tap again right after the sound when you are ready for the next set of directions.

Lockscreen widget for music player lost the "Previous" button. I can skip a song, but I have to unlock the phone and navigate to the now playing screen to restart a track or go back to a previous one.
This was available in 4.4.4. It's a bit annoying, specially when you're driving.

This might actually be a bug...
While playing music, incoming messages/call notifications do not play. The music merely lowers in volume. Again, while driving, I might not notice the 1 one second drop in music volume for a message, and sometimes I even miss a call.
On another note, I believe feature wise, Kitkat was the best(pratical and feature wise) rom we had. Had a few non Omni-related issues with Lollipop, most of them minor but still annoying.
Lockscreen is one for example. The default, unprotected Lollipop lockscreen is too easy to unlock. I found myself running out of money a few times because firefox was accidentally launched while the phone was in my pocket. Or sometimes the phone app calling random people.

2 sounds like it might be a bug, and it might be device-specific - you don't state which device you have.
It's not something I'd notice in my daily routine since I have an XM receiver in my car.

Own a Nexus 5, as mentioned in my sig. I guess these days sigs are so full of meaningless stuff that we don't really bother checking em out anymore. Iirc, there was a guide somewhere teaching how to make a useful one.

I stopped including my devices in my sig ages ago because it was frequently inaccurate/out-of-date and I always assume someone else's sig is wrong/don't even look at it for that reason.
Does it happen on stock? I'm not sure if this is a 5.x thing in general, a device-specific bug, or an Omni bug due to some of @maxwen 's volume control tweaks . I won't be able to experiment with it until I get back from vacation in mid-late September.
Maybe someone else can help me with this.
Every so often during the day I keep getting a random notification sound with no visual as to what it is. The sound is 5 tones going in a descending pattern and sounds metallic. I do not have NFC turned on nor the facebook app. I checked all my apps and sounds. I even read a lot of threads else where and tried everyone's suggestion. Still does it. I searched my phone for *.ogg and *.wav files. Nothing.
I do have a wallet case but since NFC is off its not that. I've never heard this sound before. It only started a few days ago and I've have this phone for over a month. FYI I'm running the Hola launcher and omni swipe if that helps. Any suggestions?
I am thinking to uninstall ALL my apps and see if it still does it, but I really dont want to have to do that if I can avoid it.:silly:

Are you using googles smartlock feature? When I first started using it I was receiving this weird notification which sounds like what you're talking about. It don't do it no more for some reason but man was it so annoying not knowing what the heck your phone is trying to tell you.

I have been checking back on this topic for a while because my wife's Note Edge is having the same exact problem. I even reached out to Samsung Mobile Support and they can't even figure out what it is. All they did was tinker with the sound settings and asked me if it was fixed. I have tried disabling all possible notifications from all possible apps. The only thing left is to do a factory reset it seems. Any luck on your end?

Well that's not a pessimistic attitude or anything whatsoever! lol. Here's the thing... It might help to try and remember that nobody is on here getting paid to spend their time answering your questions all day long, so unfortunately it's inevitable that there will be times when people might just have to figure their problems out on their own or just be forced to wait until someone responds.. no matter how "popular" they might be.
This entire community wouldn't exist if weren't for all of the people on here who have been and are willing to spend their own free time sharing their knowledge with and helping others, so it's pretty ridiculous to sit there and act like it's a personal assault whenever nobody answers your question right away! From my experience on here people (including myself) are always more than willing to help out whenever they can (as long as the people are willing to help themselves too), but since nobody is getting paid people need to realize that it's more of a "self help" type of community than anything.
There are literally mountains of freely available information for people to search through to try to find their answers with, and with enough determination and persistence 99% of the time people could answer their own questions without ever even having to ask. So I'm definitely not trying to be rude or anything but it's just all in how you look at it.. because when people come here expecting to be handed all of the answers then they're most likely going to be disappointed and upset, but when you come here looking to help yourself instead you'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes and how rarely you'll have to ask any questions.
Anyway I'll try helping with some suggestions below since they're having the same problem too..

I have tried disabling all possible notifications from all possible apps. The only thing left is to do a factory reset it seems. Any luck on your end?

Ok I've actually had a similar problem in the past and I can't guarantee anything but hopefully this might help..
In my situation it turned out being "profiles" that I didn't realize were turned on, and they were causing rogue and unknown sounds to happen because they were overriding my ringer and media volume settings based on the time of day it was. So all I had to do was turn off the profiles and it solved the problem, but it depends on the rom that you're on as to whether or not profiles like that are even an option.
If not another thing I'd recommend doing (and I'm obviously not sure what all you've tried so I'm just trying to cover the bases just in case) is to get a root explorer (as long as you're rooted.. if not I'm honestly not sure what to tell ya) and navigate to the root folder .. then go to "system/media", and inside there should be a folders called ui, notification, and ringtones.. and this where all of the default notification sounds are located. I would go through and listen to each one of them (they should be .ogg files) and see if you can find a match to the one you're hearing, and if you do then you can just rename that file .bak instead of .ogg and that should stop it from playing randomly (basically a bandaid type fix).
If it's not any of the system sounds then you've basically narrowed it down to where it's most likely an app that's making the sound. If that's the case then what I'd do is go into Titanium Backup and filter it to only show "user apps" and then have it sort them by the date which they were installed, and then I'd just start going down the list looking for apps I've installed that could possibly be making the sound.. that way even if you have a general idea around when the problem started happening you can match that time frame up with apps that were installed around that time to narrow down your search (if that makes sense anyway).
Anyway that's what I would do to start at least and hopefully it helps!

heh. I have an idea. You know those crappy applications on the edge? Some of them are games. I remember i used to have this issue with the memory one. Remove them from the edge. No root required. Just remove the panels from the panel configurator.

Every so often during the day I keep getting a random notification sound with no visual as to what it is. The sound is 5 tones going in a descending pattern and sounds metallic. I do not have NFC turned on nor the facebook app. I checked all my apps and sounds. I even read a lot of threads else where and tried everyone's suggestion. Still does it. I searched my phone for *.ogg and *.wav files. Nothing.
I do have a wallet case but since NFC is off its not that. I've never heard this sound before. It only started a few days ago and I've have this phone for over a month. FYI I'm running the Hola launcher and omni swipe if that helps. Any suggestions?
I am thinking to uninstall ALL my apps and see if it still does it, but I really dont want to have to do that if I can avoid it.:silly:

Not sure if this is gonna help you or not. But yesterday I started to getbthe same metallic noises, I only recall 1 change to my settings and that was installing the live wallpaper on the lock screen to show me pictures based in weather and such. And since then every hour or so it makes the sound. Try to find out if you did the same thing.
Random notification sound
I am having a similar problem which has been widely reported but none of the suggested fixes are working for me. The notification tone keeps sounding in a seemingly random way. There is no notification to match the tone. This is not just a beep or random noise. It is the default notification tone. (Skyline for completeness). This happens maybe 5 or 6 times in 24 hours. It has been happening for about 10 days.
I am running Android 8.0.0 (Samsung Experience version 9) on a Galaxy S8. The phone is not rooted.
I have turned off all notifications individually.
I have turned off notifications for the phone.
I have turned off notification reminders (it was never on).
I have turned off NFC and bluetooth.
I have checked under Accessibility settings.
I have uninstalled every app installed in the last 3 weeks.
I can reproduce the NFC and credit card issue but that is a single beep and not what I am talking about.
I have installed 3 different notification log readers (NS Notification, Notif log notification history and Notification Log). None of them show any activity at the times when I am getting the spurious tone.
When I re-enable notifications for Texts, Messenger and WhatsApp, I still receive these as normal.
I recently got a new dual band router and thought maybe the tone was the phone jumping from 2.4 to the 5 Ghz band or vice-versa. It wasn't. I thought it might be the phone jumping from telecoms provider to WiFi. Tested that too and that's not it.
Next step is a factory reset which I am trying to avoid.
I know this is bringing problems to the table, not solutions but this is really bugging me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
