Hi,
I am buying a note edge tomorrow, so if someone knowledgeable may answer my questions, It would be much appreciated.
I'm buying the edge from someone in Dubai to use in the UK
The guy said (because it was cheaper) he bought the European version (SM-N915FY) instead of the SM-N915G (which is the international version in most shops in Dubai)
He mentioned it was 4g and his baseband is ANK4 (I have no idea what that means)- does that mean I can use it in the UK unrestricted with any UK network and get 4g speeds?
My other main concern is while I was trying to research this I came across troublesome concerns -
1) I saw someone selling the N915FY version on ebay who said he can't get a signal and has service issues in the UK and the phone can only be used for emergency calls - but phone will work abroad
2) Another ebay seller was selling N915FY version with a sticker on the box which said "EUROPEAN MODEL - this product must be activated with a sim card issued from a mobile operator from EUROPE "
so for those two reasons , I am very concerned - can someone clarify the situation please?
It is the first time I am buying a used phone so not sure what to look for
It also looks like the N915G has had a stable lollipop update, so is that the better version compared with N915FY?
Thanks for your time
Hello good afternoon:
Buy me a particular honor 6 months ago. I have contacted the support page of hihonor to ask for the version that brings my honor to be the V100R001C00B103. I came in a white box, comes back to be the H60L04 model, same settings, the version I hisuite detected smoothly, the IMEI is correct. My question is I have android 4.4.2 and am trying to figure out what the update that corresponds to me, but to do that I wonder at what my honor6 region belongs ?. For the model it is Europe and is one sim. I would also like to know that my model uses 4g bands. Location Andalucia Spain, and in principle and works well **** me 4G network, but want to know that frequency bands used my model. And I repeat, I want to find out what is my honor region in June? I hope you can answer my questions, because I have not been so far able to find more information about my model. Greetings and thank you very much everyone for your help. Forgive my English
Hi all,
I hope to find a solution to a very strange problem I face. Sometime ago I bought a Nexus 5 D821. Th process was a little bit confusing, as I ordered the phone from eglobal (a chinese merchant), and the phone was delivered from the UK. until I faced my current problems, the phone worked quite nicely, so I cannot tell anything bad yet. However, recently I got a new mobile contract, which supports LTE (Vodafone Germany), but I am not able to connect to any LTE Band here. As it turns out, my phone, which in fact is the D821 Version, does only support the US LTE Bands 25, 26 and 41. I can only suppose that something strange happend during the manufacturing process, maybe this European phone should have been sold on the US market, so they patched it or something like that.
As I'm pretty sure, first you will think, well he got a D820, so whats this guy's problem, so I add some screenshot recently taken, which come from my phone. (I will add the images, once I figure out how it works.)
My Question is, is there any way to get the Europe Bands work on my phone. I found certain threads, discussing how to enable different bands on other phone versions, e.g. enable band 3 on D820, but that is not my use case.
As I understood it correctly, my hardware should support the European bands. If there really is a hardware difference, I guess that my phone neither will work on US LTE bands.
I can only speculate, so is it possible that someone extracts a certain file out of a D821, which I can flash to my phone? I read something about qnx files, which are also used to enable other bands. I think I'm quite skilled to do some further research, if someone can point me into the right direction. E.g. where can I find the configuration of the bands, is this somewhere in /proc filesystem? My phone is rooted and I'm familiar with linux and its commands. I bet it would take ages to gather all the necessary information on my own, unfortunately I do not have the time, so I though it would be beneficial to ask here for some help.
However, I would highly appreciate your comments, suggestions and any kind of help you could provide.
Best regards,

Sorry mate, wish i could help. D820 owner here, bumping your thread.
I'm planning on pre-ordering the phone very soon, but have one question: will it work in America? I'm going to Florida - for 2 weeks - in December and while the phone won't have any issues with cellular bands in UK, I'm not sure if this can be said in America.
Possible carries are Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile. Can someone answer this for me, so I won't have to worry about getting a budget phone just for the trip there?

Hello all,
My sister decided to buy a S21+ off Kijiji and when I found out I checked the model to see if it was even Canadian, and it was not.
So from what I see she might have lost a big 5G band, what else is bad with this phone for use in Canada? Can I put the Canadian firmware on it? or should I just sell it to someone in the states? What else would she loose?
Thanks everyone
As long as she has 4G losing 5G isn't the end of downloading...
and will updates still come through?
