Can the stock boot image be extracted?? - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

I need the stock boot image to flash onto my mate 9. The rooted one from KangVIP messed up a few things that I don't think root is worth. Any help is appreciated.

The fingerprint sensor no longer works, except for a short period of time after a reboot. The Fingerprint I'd settings crash whenever I try to enter them.

@ante0 @gm007 thanks for the help. I flashed the boot image and it worked. Now completely stock

Download Huawei Update Extractor: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
Check Settings in your phone to see what firmware you're on and download from the links below.
MHA-L29: http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php?find_model=MHA-L29
MHA-L09: http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php?find_model=MHA-L09

MHA-TL01 :http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php?find_model=MHA-TL01
Extract your downloaded firmware then use Huawei Update Extractor and open update.app in it.
Rightclick on BOOT.IMG and select Extract.
Then use TWRP or fastboot to flash it to boot.

I'm also back to square one even after flashing the stock image. The only reason I can't follow your guide is that I have the American variant, MHA-L29C567B138, which hasn't been found yet at all. Unless you mean I can use the boot image of any firmware on the list?

If something is different in the C567 boot image you'd need someone with a C567 to extract their boot. I'll see if I can find any but I guess you have tried already.

Yeah, that's why you'd need someone with a stock C567 boot to extract their boot.img.
It can be done with TWRP then just flash the file boot.emmc.win with fastboot.

All you have to do is extract the zip file. You'll find a folder named dload and copy that to your P2's sdcard root. After this step shut down the phone, then press volume up+ down + power and you will be in download mode. The phone should do the rest. If it doesn't work reply back since I only tried this method on the Huawei g312

Assuming you know how to extract, modify and add superuser and su, and repack the dload/UPDATE.APP within the firmware, here's the rootable firmware:http://db.tt/fX8aodzU
Apparently Dropbox temporarily froze my account's public links because people are downloading a lot from it. It gets unlocked the next day so if you get lucky you get lucky.
[UPDATE] File no longer available because I need my public links to share files with friends and schoolmates. They kept getting temporary disabled while I was hosting these firmware files because of too many downloads per day.

It hasn't been rooted. It's just that I know someone who extracted the the system.img within the firmware to put superuser and the su binaries in then he repacked it and installed it back in his phone successfully.

5. I wiped out everything including internal memory. and the phone now looping at the 'Huawei logo'
5. So I wanted to restore back to the original rom and downloaded some rom from Huawei website for 701L, when I press the +,- and power button it shows fail, some incapability things....

Fingerprint sensor not working fully

I was able to flash the rooted boot.img, but it seems to have caused a problem with the fingerprint sensor. It works a little after a fresh reboot, but then it stops working completely. Anyone have an idea as to why and maybe how I can fix it?

Hi Abumarf and depooltrd,
I have the same symptoms. I've flashed boot.img from C432 (rooted now) to my C567. It was the only way to unbrick it.
What region is rooted boot.img you flashed from. Do you think it is a software problem, not a hardware one?
Also, could anyone who has rooted MHA-L29C567B138 confirm that the fingerprint sensor works fine?

I'm not sure as to what region I flashed but I can guarantee you it's a software problem. After checking the System/Bin/ it was clear that the fingerprintID folder and a few others were missing. This is most likely what causes the Fingerprint sensor to no longer work. All we can do is wait for Huawei to release the complete C567 update so we can revert to complete stock.

Yes, as soon as I flashed both boot images that I had. One with root and the other with stock. I asked around and a dev buddy of mine told me that the KangVIP root isn't always interchangeable with the non-KangVIP roms. It was the same case for the Mate 8. Mine works for a few minutes at most, but I did flash an unknown stock boot image though it did nothing. It's a pain to live without a fingerprint sensor

HELP Honor 8 Boot-Loop After OTA out of the box [FRD-L19].

Hi all
My honor 8 just arrived yesterday,
Turned it on and it prompted me for a software update and it went in to a boot-loop.
Not sure what fw it was on before the update, also unsure what version it was upgrading to.
Later found out trough fastboot that it is (FRD-L19C636B386).
Tried to factory reset (no luck)
Tried eRecovery method, keeps showing (Getting package info failed)
Tried the 3 finger method with FRD-L19C636B380, keeps showing (Software install failed Get help from http://www.emui.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore)
Tried to flash trough fastboot, unfortunately it can't be done without unlocking the bootloader.
Wanted to unlock the bootloader but seems like it requires the phone to be able to boot to OS before I can get the unlock code.
Anyone having the same issue or have other alternatives/solutons for me to try?
Cheers!
Try rollback package

I just checked the fastboot mode it says:
Phone Locked
FRP Lock
1. what to do to unlock bootloader?
2. Whats happening now is, the "Honor" logo boots twice then goes to Huawei eRecovery. Under eRecovery it has option "Download latest version and recovery" > "Download and recovery" > "Starting WIFI failed". Actually I can connect to wifi earlier and this what happens to the eRecovery "Getting package info failed". But now it CANT connect to the wifi.
3. I tried the firmware rollback but it didnt help

This is what I'm doing now downloading FRD-L19C636B360 Full OTA which is 1.4GB from boycracked.com then will use the 3 button combo to install it using dload folder in the sd card. Still waiting to download the file. Will update you once tried
What do you mean by the "(2 zips)" ? What I only know it has UPDATE.APP.

The 1st file will be installed thru the 3 buttons from sdcard>dload folder.

I followed d FF video from youtube by MT team, I dont know what became d problem in d installation of d b380 update and made this to my unit.
Btw after install the 2 files should i wipe data and cache before using it?
Rommco05 said:
No need to be wiped anything. You remember if firmware which you try install was labeled with PV on end name of fw?

There were 2 b380 available, 1st is 300mb 2nd file is full ota. I only downloaded d full ota. No PV at d end as far as i remember. Used wifi proxy > system update ota > start download pause > return wifi config > resume ota update.

Ithink this was issue, if you want install some firmware or update (Nougat) must be always labeled with PV, with this is able to install over dload or twrp

I think PV filenames is for twrp. I just read that updating to b380 you need to rollback to b120 which is marshmallow then jump to b380. As long as i can return it to my stock b360 Im fine with it. I will just wait for Oreo or OTA update without using FF since this issue is driving me nuts. It's just 5 day old phone n this already happened. My download is still at 50% very frustrating download speed

As far I know every update must by labeled with PV if will can be installed manualy, this is "offline firmwares" wich don't need be checked online by Huawei

I have downloaded the 2 files. When I extract the 1st file it has 3 files ( meta-INF, update.app, full_mainpkg.tag). Should I put these 3 files to the dload folder or just the update.app?

The 1st file worked my phone now booted, but the problem is I cant pass thru setup/google account because it doesnt have keyboard just voice command. Why no keyboard, it's my 1st time to see this happened as well, was there a problem with my download?
Im now in the process of installing the 2nd file you gave thru 3 combo, lets see if it gives me a keyboard.
