Curved end, Black Stainless Steel Straps for Frontier? - Samsung Gear S3

Hi guys,
Have any of you found any stainless steel straps that fit on the S3 that has "curved ends" to fill the gap? I just tried a Seiko watch strap with curved ends and it does not fit/match well at all.
Thanks!
verkion

I have this strap from Aliexpress.
http://s.aliexpress.com/f6bANNbI
Cost $16.59 and took about 3 weeks to arrive

I was considering this one but it appears the fitment isn't very good. I guess no one else has made one that fits yet.
Thanks!
verkion

Correct. There is still a gap, but I think it's better than on curved straps.
I did buy another curved strap, rubber not SS. The fitment to the watch is better but there is a gap between the watch and my wrist.

What cases do NOT scratch the metal frame?

There have been a lot of threads and post about SPIGEN cases in particular scratching the metal frame of the N4.
What cases do NOT do this?
Thanks in advance
I'm using a Spigen Slim Armor for a week so far and no scratches on the frame. Don't see how it would either as only the soft inner tpu liner makes contact with it.
None, because it's not the case but the polished aluminum lip of the Note 4 that's the problem. Unless you live in a hermetically sealed environment, it'll probably end up scratched.
A few people have reported scratches with the Spigen cases but it'll happen with an otterbox, an UAG, a hardshell or a TPU case. For every person who doesn't have scratches, there will one someone who has scratches from using the same case.
Hey, perfect protection. I had S4 with S-View cover with Qi charging and it was fantastic. None scratches and wireless charging is awesome. I bought Note 4 (SM-N910F) Black with Samsung EP-VN910I Black. Fantastic

I'm also beginning to think that it's not the case but small bits of dirt being trapped between the case and frame that might be the real issue.
On some cases it's the material and on others it's particles. Either way, the aluminum is going to get marked up. Just can't worry about it....
I wish Samsung would have just stuck to plastic instead of trying to make it feel premium. Since I always put a case on my phone, I never see or touch the outside of the naked phone and would not have to worry about the metal frame. The all plastic phone was fine with me.
just put a piece of scotch tape over the metal frame before installing the case

Kapton tape would work better. The adhesive is silicone based, so it will rub off easier.
Thanks for all the responses.

I think I'm doing the same. Picked up a leather pouch from Amazon (bear motion) for 10 bucks when I need it.
I have my phone in a Ringke case since the moment I took it out of the box. My boyfriend doesn't use a case at all. Yesterday I took my phone out of the case to see how the metal rim is holding up in comparison to his, which is all scratched up. They are both just as damaged! Bottom line: it's not the cases, it will happen regardless. It appears to be so sensitive that the slightest speck of dust creeping in a case, or in a pocket, or bag, ruins it.

That tape is cheap on eBay; plenty $1 links for 5mm x 100 feet , but lead time is about 2 weeks; slow boat from China.
So far, I've only scratched the edges near the USB port (minor). Odd how the cases don't offer more protection around the ports. Should have just left the shipping tape on until this arrived. I've dropped a lot of phone's but haven't cracked a screen and don't want to start doing that so I'll try the generous application of the tape and hope it sticks well with swapping the case a lot because it looks like I'll be using a soft case for home and my Verus Thor for outings.
Thanks for the suggestion.
My Note 4 is 4 days old and I have removed one of my spigen cases a few times. The metal frame has got a few nicks. My iPhone 5s, which I babied, has tons of nicks and scratches. Though not completely visible unless you look for them. With these aluminum/metal phones this is normal.
I feel like the first scratch/nick on your phone is like the first scratch/dent on your new car. The first one is always the one that eats away at you the most and even if it's invisible to everyone else, you can pinpoint the exact location of the damage. I'm kind of surprised that there hasn't been a conclusive way to restore the chamfered edges yet though.
I haven't noticed it being sensitive. Mine has been naked since day 1. Owned it for a month or so and even have been bold and put it in the cup holder when driving. Not a single scratch *knock on wood*. I am looking into vinyls though, that's my current new trend. Started with my old m8, now gonna skin the note.
The Otterbox Defender and Commuter Series cases do not scratch the frame. I was very skeptical with the Defender Series, but was surprised by the results.

I'm not saying that any of our phones are deeply scratched either, but there is no doubt that the coating is not durable, as reported by many users.

Do you think a Defender case and a tempered glass screen protector could go together? I'm considering Otterbox but only if I can use my own screen protector.

Polish metal frame

Hi,
I have some tiny scratches on my S8+ frame.
I tried polish them out with cape cod and some car polish products but have no success.
It doesn't make the frame looking worse but the scratches looks the same as before.
I wonder why, because the aluminum frame can't be harder than stainless steel or is it?
Does anyone have some ideas for buffing that tiny scratches out?
the aluminum frame of the s8 is indeed harder. When you polish your car you dont really polish the stainless steel but just the painting (and mostly just the first layer clear coat). The aluminum of the s8 is anodized, so this is no painting. Normally anodized metal is really hard.
I whished anyway that the s8 would get a matte frame like the s7 or the matte black iphone 7 - this would look much more premium

Question Screen Protectors

Has anyone gotten a screen protector yet? As of today there are several choices. Just seeing if anyone has one and how much you like it.
amazon says Im getting mine today. tempered glass
I got the one below - Day 6, so far it seems good

I'm holding out for Spigen. I expect they will be available soon. Their auto-alignment installation kit makes it so much easier to put on. When they are available they will be on Amazon. Here is Spigen's product page for them (46mm):

The Spiglen are too small, CAVN ones are also too small (Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46mm). They both leave 1-2 mm the whole way around the screen protector. (UK based)

Ref my post above, my watch is the 46mm Classic and the Kimilar screen protector leaves a gap also.
I got this from Amazon UK, happy with it, fits well, clear, not a fingerprint magnet, smooth to touch

I got this one on my GW4 LTE 44 mm and it works well. It DOES NOT have a suction cup or guide, but I put it on 99% dead center on the first try.

I believe there was a slight gap on my last Spigen one (on GW1). It was very slight and I did not have an issue with it. Doesn't there have to be a slight gap so it can be removed?
I'm looking for one from Amazon US that fits the 46mm Classic with minimal or non-existent border gap. The Amazon availability date for the majority protectors listed, pre-date the Watch 4 release date and some of the reviews mention a 1mm border gap.
I went with the Supershieldz screen protector. No guide and kind of a pain to get it on centered. It took 2 for me. It also has a small bubble literally at the edge of it that won't go away. NOT impressed...

Going to try something else I guess.
I am a klutz so I figured that I needed to something on my GW4C as soon as possible. Rather than waiting to all of the first hand reviews I just picked one that looked decent.
The one I picked was: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09BFD6MVN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is solid rather than film, installation was easy, it passes my inspection. Touch is not degraded, and I feel much better that it is there than I did when it was not...
Another vote for the Suoman brand. Here is the link for the 42mm version

One note/negative is that these fit all the way to the edge, no gap for dirt to get trapped. I kind of mentioned it as a negative as at first I thought one of them was scratched near the edge. Ripped it off and put on a second one only to find out it was just that it wasn't adhering near the edge. Had to rub and press hard for it to finally adhere. Now it looks stock, like there isn't even a protector on it. It came with 4 in the pack so still have 2 more in the event I ever need it but doubt it as my Gear 2 still has the original protector I put on long ago.

The reason for this is that there's a compatible case for the watch that you buy separately. I got the GW4 40mm Spigen Liquid Air case and the tempered glass screen protector and the two work together really well (the case takes a few days to get used to though)

So did anyone find a screen protector (glass or film) that covers the 44mm watch 4 (non-classic) edge to edge?
Would appreciate a link! Thank you!
I'm using these ones, I bought them for my GWA2, but they work GREAT also for my GW4.

Question GW4 Classic Screen Protector

Folks
I know a few people (me included) have bought a few protectors which were a bit small for the GW4 classic (basically they were GW3 size). I can confirm the Ringke bezel is the correct size and does not have any gaps at the side.
Regards

Thanks, spangelaregreat. I actually bought the ones that Ringke says are for the first gen Galaxy Watch (because they are considerably cheaper, and have a style I like) - and they fit just fine too. *Edit*: Just to clarify, I am referring to the Ringke bezel rings.

I recently bought a screen protector for my Galaxy Watch4 from Gadgetshieldz which fits perfectly. It is an edge-to-edge protector which protects my watch from scratches. What I like is that till now there are only minute scratches that are not that visible.

Question 46mm - Tempered glass screen protector

Hey all,
I picked up some glass screen protectors to hide an existing scratch and prevent future scratches. The only issue I have is that it's not a perfect fit. There's a slight gap around the edges which results in the display's light being slightly refracted around the perimeter. It's quite distracting when viewing content with white or other light-colored backgrounds.
Has anyone found a tempered glass protector that covers the entire display of the 46mm GW4 Classic, from edge to edge?
Thanks in advance!
I purchased this one and it seems to fit good. The protective case fit good too.

Unfortunately, the one you recommended is even smaller than the one I had installed. Doesn't come close to reaching the edges of the display. While I must admit that I'm no longer seeing the type of annoying light refraction that I was getting with the previous protector, viewing the watch from certain angles is pretty annoying because it's very easy to see where the tempered glass protector ends, leaving a weird gap between the display and bezel. Oh well. I appreciate the effort
Sorry about that. It really does not bother me and the glass is crystal clear. That is the main part I was looking for. Also like the protector for the watch body. Hope you do find one that is a closer fit to what you want.

The fit is perfect! The protectors (2 are included) come attached to guide trays that are perfectly molded to fit the shape of the GW4. This makes it impossible to screw up the placement and alignment of the protector. The fit is flawless, covering the entire display from edge to edge. No gap. Can't even tell it's installed.
Nice, when I need a new one then maybe I will order that one. Are you using the case protector from the other order?

No. I tried it and, while it does fit nicely, it makes rotating the bezel really difficult.
I got used to it. Also, you could get one of the bezel covers to make it higher.
