ok so i am stuck on the samsung logo. my device is sm-t7130 2016 galaxy tab s2 8.0 running android 6.0.1
i used this link for my files https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/development/twrp-3-0-2-1-galaxy-tab-s22016-sm-t713-t3390627
i placed the
no-verity-no-encrypt_ashyx and http://download.chainfire.eu/1012/Su...1103171345.zip in the folder "tablet" witch after connecting via usb to pc is under this pc in devices and drives. the main internal storage directory
i installed twrp using odin unchecked reboot loop. before that i enabled developer options turned on usb debugging and OEM unlock. i booted it up in twrp intially couldnt mount it so i went to WIPE in twrp formatted data. then i mounted the system and made a backup in twrp. i go to install supersu and i cannot find it i couldnt find the other file either. so i rebooted to system and it is stuck on samsung logo.
i pressed power + volume down and it reboots. i can either use download mode or boot into twrp. so i go into twrp and use my backup. same thing samsung logo. i go back into twrp and go to WIPE and do factory reset. same thing stuck on samsung logo. im trying to root it but i cannot find the files. what do i do from this point. i literally just got the tablet yesterday but i do everything on tablets with root

Greetings and welcome to assist. Did you follow this guide exactly ? First things first you can flash stock rom with odin to make the phone boot. When you wiped in twrp you wiped supersu zip also the boot img patcher must be flashed before booting the system
Good Luck

[Completed] Need help with TWRP 2.9.7.0 on Note2 SGH-i317m

Hi. Just got a Note2 which was running 4.4.2
I downloaded Odin3-v3.07 and got root access. I then used a checker to confirm.
From there, I used the TWRP Manager to install 2.8.7.0.
I think this is where things went wrong. I know I selected the correct phone model, but it gave me an error saying something went wrong ( I think it said something about me having the latest TWRP) . Then my phone rebooted and took me into TWRP.
I made a backup and tried to flash the CM12 rom for sgh-i317m.
That's when I noticed I couldn't get out of TWRP. Rebooting or pulling the battery has no effect. Phone keeps booting into TWRP. I tried wiping delvic cache, cache and other things, but no matter what I do I can't boot into the OS. I tried restoring and it says it was successful, but again am stuck in TWRP. I've now spent the last hour searching for a way to get out and still can't find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Notes:
Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I had forgotten to enable USB debugging when I was in my OS.
Another thing I noticed is when I open the terminal command, there's a running boot script error: E:/sbin/runatboot.sh process ended with ERROR=1
Problem resolved: I booted into download mode and used Odin to root again. That seem to overwrite whatever was causing the Note 2 to be stuck booting into TWRP.
I enabled USB debugging and installed TWRP again. Got the same error but this time chose not to reboot into recovery. Then I rebooted manually, and the phone boots into the OS. I powered down and held Vol up + power + menu and released power button at Samsung logo, and was successful in booting into TWRP. Exited and rebooted took me back to the OS. So I'm not quite sure what it was the first time around that got me stuck into booting TWRP everytime.
Glad you got it fixed! :good:
I'll close this thread.

[q][help urgent][samsung j500f] no download mode/no os/twrp present/no booting

Hi,
okay, so i had a rooted samsung j500f phone running android lollipop 5.1.1 stock rom (downloaded from sammobile). I was using Apps2Sd for linking my apps to the external SD Card. Few days ago, my phone turned off on the battery getting empty and when i turned it on, all linked apps were missing. I was getting an error that "Disable mount namespace seperation in Chainfire SU". I did that but nothing happened and the App2Sd was unable to remount 2nd partition.
Frustrated, i contacted their developer who suggested to reinstall SuperSU. So, i opened the SuperSU app (chainfire) and went to settings and then chose the option "Reinstall from google play store". It uninstalled SuperSU which i later downloaded from Google Play Store. After it had installed, it asked to install binaries and gave me two options:
1) Normal in-app method
2) TWRP/CWM recovery method
I chose the second one (because i had TWRP installed).
Then my phone rebooted into recovery and ran a few scripts. However it later stated that there is no root on your device (which i believe may have been removed when SuperSU was uninstalled). TWRP gave me options to reinstall SuperSU but it did nothing. I downloaded the latest SuperSU zip file from chainfire site and tried to flash it. But the script would show failure. Now, my phone wouldn't boot into the system. Only into recovery mode.
Being really pissed, i decided to do a factory reset. So i did a factory reset from within the TWRP (normal wipe). Still, my phone wouldn't boot but would go to recovery. So i got angry, went into the Advanced wipe option in which i selected dalvik cache, internal storage, SYSTEM and wiped them all.
Now on trying to reboot, TWRP would say "There is no OS installed. Are you sure you want to continue?"
I knew i had messed up my phone and so i decided to flash it with stock rom again using ODIN. But, whenever i try to go into download mode it gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy J5 Logo screen with "ODIN Mode" written on the top left along with a couple of other details such as Knox void 0x1(4), Rom statusfficial, etc.
Clearly, i am unable to flash using ODIN as my phone isn't being able to go to Download Mode. ODIN doesn't detect my device.
So i thought of flashing the stock rom using TWRP, which failed.
I also have a TWRP Backup but TWRP won't let me select it. I have the backup folder on my SD card.
Now my phone has just TWRP, Can't get into download mode using the key combinations or through TWRP bootloader option which on selection gives me the "No OS" error. I can't boot my device up as it goes into recovery.
Kindly help as soon as possible.
Thank you.
If you wipe the SYSTEM Partition, then of course that no OS is installed. Like a Hard Brick. Good Job...

Galaxy S6 only boots in TWRP

As the title already states my Galaxy S6 ( SM-G920F, 6.0.1, rooted) only boots in TWRP and I can't get out of that recovery boot loop. I already tried flashing the stock ROM but I get the SW REV CHECK FAIL DEVICE 4 BINARY 3 fail. Are there any ways to fix this, possibly without losing all my personal data(if not I'd like to know how anyways)?
I can access the download menu and I also tried wiping the Dalvik/ART Cache.
I tried this stock ROM: G920FXXU4DPIL, Switzerland(AUT)
Thanks for taking your time
EDIT: I haven't tried ADB since I'm not sure how to use it correctly and I don't want to screw up even further.
Hi mate that error means that the stock firmware you are triyng to install is a lower version than the one on the device, go online and find the most recent version, as for the data just boot to twrp make a backup of data partition, connect the phone to pc twrp as mtp turn on by default and copy the backup to pc, after the flash just reinstall twrp and restore.

[HELP] phone stuck in bootloop after unsuccesfull custom rom installation

i have a 920f on which i had the xef 7.0 android (it is a phone bought from orange romania, sim locked and the csc was oro)
i installed twrp on it and after that i rooted it by flashing a zip file with twrp
then i wanted to install a custom rom. i copied the file on the phone but i wasn't paying attention and the copy process stopped in the middle of it but the file was still on the phone. wiped everything that was asked to wipe then proceeded to install the zip only then to find out that the installation ended after about 30 seconds. i tried rebooting and i'm stuck in a bootloop. even though, i can still enter download mode and in the recovery but because i wiped all those things(everything except internal storage and usb otg)
i know that i should have checked to see if the file was being copied fully but even now when i connect the phone to my laptop in the recovery to copy the zip, it still does the same thing. i tried using another usb cable, another usb port and even another laptop but the copy process still stops about halfway trough.
right now i'm downloading a stock rom and gonna try to flash it with odin. what should i do?
any help is appreciated
Download a 7.0 rom from: http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?q=g920f&exact=1
Flash it with ODIN (AP)
Boot device, it should work
If this doesnt work and you know what you did wrong just download samsung smart switch, do an emergency firmware recovery en start over again

Samsung Galaxy A8 SM-A530F stuck on Samsung logo after recovery boot

Hello All,
I have a galaxy a8 that I tried to boot into download mode to check if my drivers are working on the PC and it's stuck on the Samsung logo now. The problem is that I have data on it that are important and I have to save otherwise I would perform factory restart or flash it with regular CSC with Odin. I tried flashing the latest official firmware with HOME_CSC binary but it's still stuck.
I also tried simple stuff as cleaning cash and leaving it off for a day to power-drain but it's still stuck.
Can somebody please advise on any tips that I should try I been trying to unblock it for days
Thank you in advance
Is there any way to recover data with adb in this stage?
Have your phone serviced at a phone repair shop. You don't have the tools to recover your phone properly. You messed up now pay for professional help. To put it bluntly. Learn your lesson and don't play with your phone.
Hey man, you said you cleared the cache it means you can boot into twrp recovery mode, right? If you can, just boot into recovery mode and connect your device to pc/ laptop, it will be connected via MTP. After this you can copy any and all data from your device. If you want your app data as well, make a nandroid backup of your device from twrp ( doesn't matter if you jave boot loop) and after formating your phone you can use titanium backup to extract app data feom nandroid backup. Hope this helps...
