if you change to LTE only and there is no LTE network available at any moment, your phone will go to no service or emergency calls only mode. Thats why selecting auto mode is better so that even if 2G network is available, you can use the phone.

well yeah that's true but what really happens is that I just stayed on the same location yet the connection changes that's why I want to force my network to choose LTE

It won't stay to LTE for sure. There is always glitch in network.. Just monitor the network status in about phone-status-network..
It will change randomly the network health means you wont be on LTE all the time, and it will change randomly and thats common.

On my Samsung Phone's there was usually a USSD code you could put in to force 3G. My phone will often switch to 2g when there is only 0-1 bars of 3G but I want it to stay on 3G. Any ideas on how to do this on a non-rooted U.S. Moto G?

and I think the same or similar way to do that is in 4.3
As far as I can tell, that only changes the preferred network mode. It will still fall back to 2G if there is no 3G. I want 3G only, no switching back and forth.
if *#*#4636#*#* works then go in phone information and Set preferred network type to wcdma only
(this must be done at every boot)

Are you rooted? Because if you are install xposed framework and then gravitybox,in gravity box you can add quick tiles,one if those quick tiles is a network mode tile and you can enable 2g,3g or both

Yes I know it will lose network sometimes, I'm ok with that.
I am not rooted. I moved to vanilla android so I wouldn't have to root and change roms. Can I root this phone without reinstalling?

Change to WCDMA preferred and go home screen it should save automatically also did you buy the global version or US version? If you buy US Version you'll only get 2G. If you have the Global version check your apn to see if its correct.

you should check the apn first, i have same problem with you (i live in indonesia), then i correct my apn as my operator suggest then it's fine.
if you're sure your apn is correct, then you can force your phone to works in 3g only.

The 3G symbol shows even when your connected to HSPA but there is a flashable mod to change it to show H or H+

Hi. My friend just bought the global version of Moto g. We live in Iceland, Europe.. Iceland has the same bands that Moto g supports, 850-900-1900-2100... But 3g is not working at all....
APN is correct and we've tried this app you recommended. If we force wcdma nothing happens.
3g is on in settings/more/mobile networks..
He's on 4.4.2

Well, I know that honor will never have the popularity and the developer "attraction" of the razr,but I can still hope for it. A custom rom will probably never have the dual sim functionality and all the feautures of the stock rom, on the honor 6

It's your problem. I downloaded at 5mb/s speed. I could have uploaded to a mirror but my download speed is 50mbps and uplink is 1mbps

I have installed 5.5.8 version, it's very beautifull but i have some problems too, i can't change USB CONNECTION settings (it's MTP and i can't use ADB on this mode) and also in settings there isn't 4G network, anyone have same problems or found some solutions?
On L-04, i receive com.android.phone has stopped working all the time...any idea?

I know that service menu for LTE, but what about USB CONNECTION?
I have honor 6X USA version. I live in Nepal and my 4g isn't working cause of that. I want to flash indian firmware. How to change USA firmware to india firmware. My friend has honor 6X with indian firmware and 4g is working perfectly....

4G is not region dependent. You can buy an unlocked phone from USA and use it anywhere and vice versa provided that your sim is 4G capable. Have you tried inserting your sim to another device?

Yes, I tried it . But it's not working I even tried different 4g sim on my phone. But it's not working. It only slow 2g and 3g network.

May be its just giving the H+ symbol but you have 4G. For me i can obly notice a difference when i am not on mobile data, that time it wont show the network symbol(2g,3g,4g) but when on data it shows correctly so i would assume this is just UI.
Did you check the internet speed by downloading any app or so? Are you trying 4g in sim one or two?

So, the LTE+others option is still available? If yes, put that on and try a speedtest to see the effective speed of mobile data traffic. It's weird anyway, you had 4G before?

The pack give 0KBps on my RN7Pro but 1-2MBps on my sister's RN7Pro. Her phone is as it is and I had went to Pixel Experience then Pixel Plus then after faatboot recovery back to MIUI and also updated to the latest version.
The issue seems only with my phone and I am unable to tell why.

The pack give 0KBps on my RN7Pro but 1-2MBps on my sister's RN7Pro. Her phone is as it is and I had went to Pixel Experience then Pixel Plus then after faatboot recovery back to MIUI and also updated to the latest version.
The issue seems only with my phone and I am unable to tell why.

miui modem file is worst cheap , the same SoC modem file (others) high speed and LTE-CA also enable
