G920F ROMs backward compatible with G920L? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Bought my S6 in Korea not realizing that I would have to go through this much trouble trying to find compatible ROMs. I'm using XtreStoLite atm but GPS is super buggy and I'm looking for a more updated ROM.
Someone here said that G920i is G920F is the same device but different region, do you think this applies to G920L?
XtreStoLite has the same kernel for G920F/L/I and a few others so do you think I will be able to flash all G920F roms on my G920L?
Cheers.

Replacing stock firmware with stock firmare. Different region

this is my first time flashing android with Odin. So I'd like some reassurance from more experienced people..
I have Galaxy Tab 7.7 with stock TGY (HK) version of Android. I want to replace it with XEU stock ROM using this article: http://www.techgoondu.com/2012/07/1...samsung-galaxy-tab-7-7-to-ice-cream-sandwich/
I do not want to root my device
Will I be able to continue with 'usual' Kies upgrades in the future?
Also I read a post here that a guy had rather large problem flashing Chinese Galaxy SII with EU firmware. Luckily someone helped him with custom ROM... Is there known problem with flashing Tab 7.7 HK ROM with EU ROM ?

Needed 5.1.1 lollipop firmware compatible with a G920IDVU1AOC6 s6 phone.

Hi guys
Can anyone share a 5.1.1 firmware compatible with a G920IDVU1AOC6 s6 phone. Not to concerned with the country or network. Just really need to get lollipop 5.1.1 on my device. Can't find it anywhere and really need the update. (already tried some brazilian and New Zealand 5.1.1. firmware but nothing worked so far as they had other g920i build versions. Needs to work with G920IDVU1AOC6.
Please let me know.
Thanks.

Hi
thanks for getting in touch. I've tried all types of g920i for lollipop 5.1.1 but it seems none of them actually works for my build model. I've only get access to 5.0.2 because the firmwares are exactly the same as my model (g920idvu1aoc6).
f anyone has a solution for me to install lollipop 5.1.1 on my model, it would be highly appreciated. Previously tried some g920f firmware as well, but after going all well on odin, I only get the samsung logo on screen and nothing else. (even deleting the bin files on the original stock firmware). Any ideas? Cheers

Flashing US firmware to international version

I've searched... not been able to find much.
Is it possible to flash a US based firmware to my G925F international version? I'm in the US, using my S6 Edge on ATT. Reason being, I want to use Samsung Pay.

Can I run a stock G920F rom on a G920i?

Hey,
So I've recently gotten an Australian S6 G920i and was wondering if I would be able to flash a G920F rom to it. As far as I know the phones are practically identical so I cannot see why it wouldn't be possible, I just don't want to have to wait for the Australian carriers to update the firmware, plus the bloatware is gross (bootscreen, apps, etc.). Tried to look for a similar thread but couldn't find anything, help would greatly be appreciated
Thanks!
Hi soymllk,
What carrier are you using?
I assume you are on 5.1.1 firmware.
Just took a quick look at sammobile and found Vodafone firmware from 01/14/2016.

You can flash an unbranded firmware on your G920I. Running a 920F firmware isn't possible on your phone.
The only difference in the 920I and 920F are the LTE bands. The 920I has the same FDD-LTE bands as a a 920F, however it also carries additional TDD-LTE bands for Australia, India, Singapore and a few other countries.

Hey guys, thanks for your help! Before I saw any of this I went to SamMobile and flashed the Vodafone ROM (knowing that Vodafone don't customize phones at all, unlike Optus...) so all the bloatware crap is gone now Thanks!
(BTW I'm with Vodafone but the phone was originally an Optus phone so it had all their stuff on it, including a lovely "Hellooooooooo" welcome and "cya ya!!" shut down screen-_-)

Samsung S6 American variants - Unbranded firmware?

Hi,
I've bought a couple of S6 flats which are potentially American variants, I haven't received them yet. I used to have the G920F and we had BTU and XEU firmware that we could flash which didn't include any carrier bloatware.
My question is, is there a similar firmware CSC for the American variants that doesn't include T-Mobile bloatware for example?
Thanks.
I have the T-Mobile variant S6 Edge, but I don't know of any official firmware that can be flashed directly onto a T-Mobile that doesn't have their bloatware. I know you can flash any custom ROM like OdexLite on it that supports either the G92xT or G92xW8, as they are both compatible with each other. The downside to doing that is that you'll obviously trip KNOX, the upside being that you'll have a very debloated ROM, even more than what you would have being on an official, non-carrier ROM.

Ok thanks for your response, I'll probably flash custom roms on them if they turn out to be full of crappy apps.
Thanks.

There is really many good ROM's with support T-version From those what I tested, every one support T/W8 And also good kernels like N0G33K or Aldeon. ROM's are really diffrent so I cannot recommend you anyone because you could'nt like it But for me best are two S8 ports: Ultimate and Noble and also Ultimate but "normal", S6 stock-based

I'll probably go with odexlite, it's stock based. The phones are for family who just use them for daily use, texting, calls and photos. I used to have noble ROM, odexlite, Griffin ROM etc on my s6 a few months ago before I got the s8.
