if you see any untranslated, chinese part/app or anything , please point out where or what app is it ,it would be best if you post a screenshot , so it can be translated.
thanks
====================================================
i know you guys may think it looks like MIUI , but i assure you it's totally different ROM nor MIUI-based modification , and if you have time , please read first pages of all these kind people's reports and feelings about this ROM.
what i think is , every and any ROM is like child to all of us in Android community , and please don't think it is bad or ugly or whatever negative expression you can think of , because nothing is perfect , as MIUI , it is now 71 weeks old , and this one is only 3 weeks old, and for now , MIUI 4.0 does have problems and bugs as well as this one, it has some problems or bugs, but that's how all ROM start, right ?
we are just like bunch of daddies (mommies) here , to help developer to raise (improve) thier child (ROM) , they need you help and report!

DX ROM introduction translated as requested (this translation almost got me killed -_-!!! be honest , i don't know what i am saying now...)
点心 (Dian Xin) in chinese, when put these 2 words together it means small food like cake or snack , in this case related with Android (cupcake, donut, eclair, froyo, gingerbread, honeycomb and ice cream sandwich), but , when separates them , the first word means "target" or "aim" , and second means "heart"

it means design and make ROM to do/be what you want, what you prefer.

You guys should stop making this kind of ROM. I already left MIUI for MoKeeOS, in now this one is tempting me again. Fortunately my USBs aren't working, so I can't do it in the urge right now, but I'll download it for testing, later.
this looks really nice and i'd like to try it but after flashing i just get a boot loop, i'm not really sure if i installed it incorrectly or what..... is there a specific SBF i should be using for this?

Hello everyone,
I've been using the cm9 release candidate since it was released, and still can't figure out how to make it snappy (I was on Apex before, and found it much more responsive). I'm not sure which the performance/memory management settings the Nexus S can handle well (there are lots of other threads for other phones, but I'm not sure if some of the settings require better hardware), so I'd appreciate it if anybody could tell me what they've found to be good for the following options:
Performance settings:
- Surface dithering
- 16bit transparency
Memory management:
- Allow purging of assets
- Kernel samepage merging
Misc. information that may or may not be relevant:
- Using Matr1x kernel (CFS, v21.0 I think)
- Processor is running at 200/1200 most of the time, ondemand governor (same settings that used to give me great performance on Apex).
- Also tried running Supercharger script, but it didn't seem to change things as much as it usually does
- Fixing permissions didn't fix it
- Battery life seems fine
- What I mean by "unresponsive" is that the launcher takes longer than usual to redraw and is laggy switching between windows, apps often force close or take forever to start up, and the browser reacts much more slowly to pinches, swipes, etc.
Thanks!
tl;dr: CM9 users, please share your performance + memory management settings. Explanations not required, though appreciated.

You don't need to mess with those settings.
Besides, if your applications FC, it's likely because of:
a) instability regarding your overclock
b) instability regarding the undervolt that matr1x kernel comes with
c) the fact v21 was canned due to being judged unstable by so many, upgrade to v22
d) all of these
Cheers
If you don't know what a setting does, don't change it. Messing with the CM performance settings if you don't know what you're doing is a great way to mess your phone up.

Make CyanogenMod Faster & Smoother

Tips & Tricks
Increase RAM using Swapper2 [ULTIMATE MOD] ☆☆☆
This mod is for those with Ram < 500. If your phone has greater ram, you don't require this. For all those who complain about lag, here's the ULTIMATE FIX for it. No more lagging, play HD games WITHOUT lag.
Follow this amazing guide and give your phone the ULTIMATE POWER.
Increase RAM using Swap File and Swap Partition
Download Link For MiniTool Partition Wizard : Download
Regarding the above guide:
- Maximum for 3rd Partition is 1024MB ie. 1GB. So in 1st Partition, choose maximum partition size leaving only 1024MB so you don't waste any space.
- If you are not interested in App2SD, don't create 2nd Partition
Proper Installation Process ☆
Many of you face different bugs and issues due to improper installation. Follow the steps given on the ROM's thread.
Remove Unwanted System Apps ☆☆
The more apps you have on your phone, less free RAM available. Get rid of those stock apps which you rarely or do not use.If you want to save the app, use something like AppManager, Titanium Backup to archive the apps you want to keep around to SD card. Or just redownload them when you need them. Go into Settings > Apps and figure out which apps you want on your phone and which ones you want to remove. For removing Stock Apps, use Root Explorer or any other file explorer, go into data/sys-parts/app and delete unwanted apps. Reboot your phone after making any changes.
Some useless Stock Apps:
CMWallpapers
SpareParts
VoiceDialer
Live Wallpapers : MagicSmokeWallpapers
LatinIME - If you use a different keyboard than stock.
CMFileManager - If you use a different file explorer
Stk
Term - If you don't need a Terminal Emulator
Trebuchet - If you're on a low end device, trebuchet is no good for you.
Video Editor
Replacement:
Google Keyboard
Swype
Solid Explorer
ES Explorer
Root Explorer
Nova Launcher
Apex Launcher
Use Static Wallpaper ☆☆☆
Live wallpapers use much more memory of your phone than a static wallpaper. Even a simple Live Wallpaper will take 2 MB or so of memory. Complicated ones may take up to 20MB. And the live wallpaper will run in background ALL THE TIME taking much of your phone's memory. Live wallpaper even consume your phone's battery. So use a static wallpaper instead.
Don't have any great static wallpaper to chose from? See This Amazing Collection Of WallpapersOccasionally Kill Apps Running In Background ☆☆
Everyone loves multitasking and switching from one app to another. But when you multitask, apps run in background and consume battery and take up major part of your memory. This can make your phone a little slow and laggy. Occasionally kill the apps running in background to free up some RAM.Tweaking Performance Settings ☆☆☆
CPU Governor, Minimum CPU Frequency, Maximum CPU Frequency
To make your phone faster and smoother, tweaking above settings play an important role.
You can select "Allow Purging Of Assets" in Memory Management to allow freeing of more RAM when required.
Remember, Increasing CPU Frequency Can Effect Your Battery Life.Tweaking With Developer Options ☆☆
For experiencing quickness as well as smoothness, change: 1. Window Animation Scale 2. Transition Animation Scale 3. Animator Duration Scale. By default they are set to "1x". Change it to "0.5x". This will make transitions and animations on your phone much faster and make you feel that your phone is super fast.
You can even select "Don't Keep Activities" to kill every activity running as soon as you close it.Restrict Your Home Screens ☆
People tend to have more than 3 homescreens and place a lot of widgets. More widgets you have, more lag you experience on your homescreen. This may not be true for some devices like Galaxy S3, but it does effect low end devices. Try to remove unwanted widgets from your homescreen and have least no. of homescreen possible, preferably 3 or less. This did effect my phone and my phone became much smoother than ever. Try this and if you don't notice any difference, you can always change your homescreen. Tweaking Build.prop ☆☆☆
You can add tweaks to your build.prop to make CM10 more fluid and smoother. Following are the details about the tweak:

★Balance - Option which makes your RAM to the best optimization, this option is for everyday using. Use this option when you want to have fast phone without lags.
★Balance (More free memory) - This option is nearly the same as Balance, but this option should be advantageous for users who have more RAM than 512 MB. This option gives you more free memory but a bit reduces multitasking.
★Balance (More multitasking) - This option is nearly the same as Balance, but this option should be advantageous for users who have less RAM than 512 MB. This option gives you more multitasking, but a bit reduces free memory.
★Hard gaming - Option which stabilizes your RAM for playing hardest games. Use this option for games which lag on your phone. Your games will run smooth without lags.
★Hard gaming (Less aggressive) - This option is similar to Hard gaming but should be better for devices with RAM lesser than 512MB.
★Hard multitasking - Option for users which are really hard working on their phones. You can have a lot of running apps and quickly switch between them without lags.

Battery Saving Tips
Many users feel that the battery life on their ROM is not very good. First of all never judge a ROM's battery life on the very first day you flash it. Following are some Tips for increasing your battery life - a little maybe.
1. Adjust Your Battery
As stated above, don't judge a ROM's battery life on the very first day you flash it. Adjust your battery! Let your battery drain to 5% and then charge it till 100%. Repeat this 3-4 times and your battery should get adjusted.
2. Don't Use Any Task Killer
There are many threads on XDA stating why you shouldn't use a task killer. Go find them and read them.
Many people think that "Task Killers" actually increase their battery life and free up some RAM. This is not true. Here is why:
Android Forums said:
* Android is hard coded to automatically kill a task when more memory is needed.
* Android is hard coded to automatically kill a task when it’s done doing what it needs to do.
* Android is hard coded to automatically kill a task when you haven’t returned to it in a long time.
* Most services (while possibly running in the background) use very little memory when not actively doing something.
* A content provider is only doing something when there is a notification for it to give. Otherwise it uses very little memory.
* Killing a process when it isn’t ready only causes it to have to reload itself and start from scratch when it’s needed again.
* Because a task is likely running in the background for a reason, killing it will only cause it to re-spawn as soon as the activity that was using it looks for it again. And it will just have to start over again.
* Killing certain processes can have undesirable side effects. Not receiving text messages, alarms not going off, and force closes just to name a few.
* The only true way to prevent something from running at all on your phone would be to uninstall the .apk.
* Most applications will exit themselves if you get out of it by hitting “back” until it closes rather than hitting the “home” button. But even with hitting home, Android will eventually kill it once it’s been in the background for a while.

3. Use WatchDog Instead Of A Task Killer
WatchDog is a Task Killer but a little different. Watchdog monitors your apps and alerts when one loses control, allowing you to kill just that single app. You don't need a task killer but a way to make sure a background app doesn't lose control and eat up all your CPU.

4. Other Tips
- Use Wifi as much as possible
- Turn off Bluetooth if not in use
- Turn off GPS if you don't need it. Google Now checks your GPS frequently
- Turn off NFC if you don't use it
- Turn off Google photos sync in Gallery if you don't use it
- Uncheck any services you don't need synced for your Google account (Settings > Accounts & Sync > select your Google account).
- Uncheck Dial pad touch tones, Touch sounds, Screen lock sound, Vibrate on touch
- Adjust individual app refresh data intervals to the max that is acceptable for you
- Underclocking (If your kernel supports)
- AOKP Powersaver feature
- Solid black wallpaper (The more black in your wallpaper, the better)
- Inverted Gapps - The more the black is used the better

Here you'll be able to see some main differences between ICS and Jellybean.
As for which one is better between CM9 & CM10, you'll have to try them both. For me CM10 is much smoother and faster even when its in Alpha. Go ahead , try them and see which one works for you !
Thanks for the informative post.
IMHO Dsp manager is definitely not useless. If I don't enable bass boost on it then I really can't hear any bass. Btw not problem with headphones. What I mean to say is without dsp manager and bass boost you will not get any bass :banghead:

found this in the forum but i don't know if it applies. you can try if you have a backup.
i have no idea on how to apply this build.prop, still learning but i think it's just about replacing it after backing up.
please enlighten me too thanks.

Delete the existing one and paste the new one. But before deleting , take a nandroid backup or save the existing file on your phone

Installed, Not noticing any changes so far with video/photo quality.
Don't know about 3G speeds.
hello, i am buying a chinese phone, one of those with great specs, low price but no support...so what are the modifications i could make to increase its performance? what makes something like cyanogen better than a stock rom, with less lag, and so on? obviously the first thing i'll do will be root and remove the chinese programs and everything...and then? what else could i do? i was even thinking...the phone will have a 1080p screen, but lowering the output resolution to 720p would increase performance/battery? if yes, i could i do this? thank you
Sad to say, there ain't much to be done other than rooting and freezing unwanted stock apps. You can look into some universal scripts/apps that can improve your device's performance. Currently, I'm trying this out..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180150
mmm...so what makes using a custom rom a good choice? just graphic improvements or changes? (custom launcher, icons and so on?)
Each custom ROM have their own unique features for performance or added functionality.. If you wanna flash custom ROM, you must at least get a device that is supported for development.
hmm , just search for app tweaks ,, (some tweaking app doesn't require root access) , hope you're lucky to find it
push notification not working on lewa os by mufti arfan 21 june release
push manager not working
unfortunately system ui problem error
Lewa OS gud all over minor improvements needed
Lewa OS version 13.06.28_muftiarfan is a very stable and good looking rom
2 weeks usage
pros:
battery life avrg lasts 24-25 hrs
Ui really awesome:good:
no lags in general usage:good:
touch same as was in stock rom :good:
usabiltiy enhaced due to switches and all :good:
u can change icon style
Xtreamely stable my device never hanged ever for this 2 week usage that surely a thums up to the developer:good::fingers-crossed::angel::good:
ample amount of free ram:good:
OTA update : U ****ing got to be kidding me but its true :
Cons:
as i have seen in many LEWA OS roms in this rom their is a lack in customisation and i hope developer is working on it, since u can change only icons wallpaper and fonts but u cannot change lockscreen style or the global UI.
if u kill all apps using task manager it permanently terminates all apps thats gud but i found out that if u run it it will stop the background services which help you to recieve messages on applications like whatsapp and facebook messenger pls developer see to this problem
though it showed over 175 mb ram free always i use task manager to free it game like INTO THE dead and other gud graphics game displays an error of low memory and terminate by them selves pls dev see y this is happening
need some battery life improvement but i can live with it.
safe centre UI crashes this is also a problem but i dont care
