Dirty Santa on H990 Singe - LG V20 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi all,
Has anyone tried the unmodified dirty Santa on the h990.
Im lookink in emdroidle user thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/bounty-thread-lg-v20-root-h990ds-t3493062/page17
hows working on the 990ds.
And he said that the unmodified original dirty Santa should work.
And the question if it will went brick this will resotre to stock?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/restore-v20-to-100-stock-bricked-devices-t3524903
???

No one had tried yet as far as i know .
For me i didnt get an answer for restore back if i bricked my device with this method . so its kinda riscky for me as i dont have another device to use if i bricked mine .

Seems like there's a compile files in the link directry to the h990 if bricked.

There is a kdz available for the h990 single sim so just try it. If it doesnt work then let me know and ill see if i can help. But you can restore to stock using the kdz

No. Your device has different hardware so its not able to boot properly(the blue screens we were getting). Most likely the same modifications that the H990DS will need you guys will need. Sorry.

[HELP] FWRP soft-brick help

Well I recently got a Samsung Galaxy S6 from Verizon and I tried to install TWRP on it so I could do some backup stuff but it appears doing so soft bricked my device but sadly I'm trapped as all methods to unbrick my device have failed but mostly because Odin always gets stuck at "NAND Write Start!!" when trying to flash the stock firmware, all other guides seem to not help unfortunately, so I'm coming here looking for help
What is FWRP? Did you mean TWRP?

Yes I did, my apologies. I typed this thread up while looking for the "Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant - Samsung" software to see if that will fix it but sadly can't find it anywhere
You can get in DL mode, so I would think there's a way to use ODIN. Hold tight and let me research something.

So far from what I read is if Odin gets stuck at the nand write then the partitions are screwed up but I have no idea where the find a PIT file to re-partition the phone
We only have root. Not an unlocked boot loader. You should have read more but let's pray that you can Odin back to stock

Hmm well I tried 3.10 and it got past nand write, lets see if it actually works though as I'm unsure if the stock firmware is correct as I had to dive deep into the net to find it as the same firmware here lead me to a web page that took forever to lead then didn't provide a download link

Well I un-bricked the phone I had to do some real digging to find the stock firmware that wasn't on a website that limits your speed to like 20kb/s
Same thing had happened to me. I posted the fix on a couple threads here (which was the same - needed the newest odin). Nice that we're both back in working order.

PLEASE HELP total noob and bricked my S6

Hi guys
So I'm a total noob (have very little technical knowledge regarding phones
I kind of stupidly tried to root my S6 (G920FXXU2COH2) this evening and now it is soft bricked
I have tried flashing stock android to un-brick it but it didn't work ( Odin showed a FAIL message and my phone displayed system rev. check fail device: 2 binary 1
My phone is now stuck on the boot screen showing the message RECOVER IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Please can someone help me unbrick this thing, using the simplest language possible, thanks so much in advance
First of all, did you read everything before rooting your phone?

Hi, I got the same error a couple of days ago when I bricked my phone and it was because of the ROM I downloaded. If you tried to flash a 5.0.2 ROM you'll get that error, flash a 5.1.1 instead and it should go fine

Just download the stock ROM, but make sure its running the version 5.1.1 and NOT the version 5.0.2.
Then just flash that ROM through odin and it should be fine.
Here's the website I got my ROM off, took a while to download though... http://forum.youmobile.org/downloads/?cat=42;PHPSESSID=0fa1c4db175a41a315299d62e08997d8
Also, how did you try to root? Just curious

Auto reboot and F reset time... Are you loading the ROM into 'AP' in Odin? And what version are you using? I used odin 3.10.6
Flash twrp and install a custom rom.i screwed mine like you, I don't think you'll be able to flash stock back. So just get a rom

It's not called a rom. It's called stock firmware. Don't get him confused.

Technically everything you flash wether it is over Odin or recovery is called a rom. Only the Stock ones provided by the manufacturer are called firmware. You could also say custom firmware for custom roms.
But no confusion here
Alright everyone, after trying to flash the stock ROM a few times it just suddenly decided to work! Thanks so much for all of your help!

I have a bricked v20 and I have tried flashing this .tot and the other posted in this forum and I keep getting error messages at 9% on all attempts on two windows machines. Any ideas on what this issue could be? I am using LGUP version 1_14_3. Is this the latest build or the build compatible with the V20? Drivers were latest I could find also using the LG common.dll which I needed for LGUP to recognize the V20. This is my only way out of brick I think. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Not good news.. it is just the dll? I mean i knew it had to be a missing piece because it was ready to flash. Every file failed at the same time. If anyone hears anything please post here or PM me just for a heads up. Im sure a few other desperate souls out there are anxiously waiting. Any reason the flash tools are incomplete? It doesnt seem like a big deal. Can someone here in the forum make one? Just couious.. i would gladly donate. Thanks for the info.

I don't think the flash tool is meant to be public, so they are probably leaked files.
I have a soft bricked LG V20 and have tried the LGUP DLL for every LG phone model I could find. The most progress I got was with the LG G5 dll and it only went to 10%.

been reading up on xda relating to flashing and rooting (i came from samdung phones) this baby. i think being patient here is what you can do at the moment.also, not only the dll file is missing, i read twrp is not saving backup properly due to the new security protocols in place android 7.0.
take heart mate,i know it sucks to have a bricked phone.
all im getting is "Unknown Model"
Managed to soft brick my H918 as well, so if anyone working on this needs a tester, I'd love to get my phone back.

I appreciate it, wish I'd seen that the day before. I tried to go back to stock recovery to see if that would fix my boot loop issue, so, without access to TWRP, I'm hosed until we have a method to reflash recovery from Fastboot or Update modem connection..
I am screwed as well, I messed my phone up too, and when I turn my phone on it automatically goes the to the upgrade mode screen, I want to through away this damn phone, hehehe.

when I update my mate 8 to b560 ,, i was on b320 ,,,
and because there is on rollback for C432.....
So I just did dload update using firmware for b320 and when update finished i made factory reset and done ,,,
and I back for b320
I hope that is useful for you ,,,
Same here I tried to be back to b200 after failing to root b560.....After many tries, I had to resort to DC Unlocker ( paid around 19 Euros), then afterwards, My phone is dead (No power working, No PC recognising phone ) Now, it is at the mercy of at technician to find a solution, otherwise I will get a new one (SAM S 8)
I got back to b192! There is only ONE method that worked for me. And only ONE rollback update.app that also worked. But cant find the link anymore.
I had to flash my rom to get Testkeys then rollback via the upload.app ( i will post a link later) and finally was able to do it. after 15€, bc my phone was dead before also

only file that worked for me
thread can be closed [Solved]

my advice is never to try the second method at all (if you visit their site, you find two methods for unbricking your mobile) ... I totally killed my device... The first method might work... but I don't trust them as after my phone became dead, I tried to explain what happened on their forum but they deleted my registration and the tread...Although some members tried to help....

Are your Honor 8 still dead? I used first method yesterday with 2 steps and work fine to revive a device that only had fastboot mode. In the Second Method I didn't find a factory firmware for Honor 8 in DC website.

I have Mate 8...and still dead...service told me I must change mother board...nearly the same price as purchacing a new one...of course I refused and went back to my Sam Note 4....The second method in DC is so dangerous as they do not specify the correct firmware to your mobile and if you chose a wrong one, it would ruin your device...

Which file u flash?
I think it was 2 months ago....the problem is that they mentioned that if you could NOT find the same firmware of your phone, take the nearest firmware....and That was what I did.....but it is alright as I went back to my old SamSung Note 4 ....till I get Note 8....
