[Q] A2DP w/CM7 and G2x, I have to be doing it wrong?

I've been running CM7 nightlies on my Nook Color for months, and finally took the plunge this week with my G2x. Dummy me for not doing it much sooner. Running the current stable release, 7.1.0.1.
Question is I'm trying to get audio over the bluetooth in my car to work, but nothing. I haven't found any setting in the phone to enable A2DP, does such a setting exist? Is there an apk or something to install?
I've searched, and most of what I've found indicates it just works with bluetooth on. I suspect there's something with my car's bluetooth that doesn't play nice with music over audio.

Are you sure your car supports a2dp? Some just support headset functions. You don't really "enable" a2dp, you pair the phone to the car's bluetooth (settings->wireless->bluetooth). When the phone detects that it is connected to an a2dp device, it should send audio to it automatically.

Turn off wifi calling. Some say they have problems with it on.

I've had a2dp not work on my phone a couple times, but simply disconnecting the bluetooth device, turning off and back on bluetooth on the phone, then re-connecting solved the problem.

I think it's just my car stereo. I've got a 2011 vehicle with bluetooth calling, but it doesn't seem to kick in with bluetooth audio no matter what combination of BT/Wifi/Calling I use.

Nope, never had any sort of bluetooth streaming audio in my car. The bluetooth phone works great, but nothing else. I've tried Pandora, the stock Music app, the Google Music beta app, iHeart radio and Subsonic. Nada.

Car stereo probably doesn't support it. Mine only supports phone calls, but no AD2P

bluetooth no call audio pixel

I used to be able to hear calls and media whilst connected to bluetooth in my car. one day it just stopped working. media still works but when i make a call or receive one, there's no audio. calls ,audio, and contacts are all checked in bluetooth settings. i've forgotten devices, rebooted, reconnecting, and nothing helps.
bluetooth connects to everything fine, but no call sound over any accessory i try. got a new car and it won't work in there either. i'm on android 7.1.2 .
searched all over and plenty of people are having these issues but none of the posts i've read solve my problem. any help would be appreciated

Hey hey, I have a 128GB pixel with the same issue. I actually opened a case with Google support today about it. about 3 months back, only phone audio stopped working in my car. I was hoping the 8.0 update would fix it but it did not. I have a 2017 Honda Civic LX. I tried everything on my phone - even factory reset. Media audio works, I can play Spotify just fine but when i get a call, I can not hear the other person and they cannot hear me. The phone indicates it is connected via bluethooth... I'll try to update this post with what they find.

128G pixel here. This happens with every Bluetooth device I connect it to. 2 car stereos, 2 speakers, and a headset. All worked fine and suddenly one day... Didn't. I was hoping O Would fix it with all the Bluetooth bug fixes and changes they implemented.

Darn, so the issue is a bit different. Mine works fine on a couple of other speakers I have.

Did anyone ever solve this? I've got the same issue, but it effects *all* my Bluetooth devices, but only when I am switched to my secondary user profile.
I've reset the phone app but no dice.

My phone will say it is connected to the Bluetooth device for the phone call. If I switch to speaker or phone and then back to Bluetooth, it works. Anyone else have similar?

Hi!
After hours of Googling you are the first I found who has the same error.
I have a Lenovo TAB4 8+, my kid wants to use Zoom and his Bluetooth headset but only the speaker and mic on the tablet works. I tried fresh install, without luck:
There are 4 type of users:
- Owner (primary - this is the only profile which works for calls on bluetooth headset)
- Standard Users (secondary - bt headset only supports listening: Spotify etc..)
- Child (bt headset only supports listening: Spotify etc..)
- Guest
The bluetooth headset is working with other devices, but not with this one. Unfortunately I have no other android device which supports multi-user.
Moreover, there was an hour when bt call worked from secondary user, but couldn't find out what is the problem.
Can anybody help me on this?

bluetooth audio not working with my car

Hello,
After the Oreo I had issues with my bluetooth syncing properly to my car. I drive a 2017 Corolla iM and never had issues with my music bt audio syncing before. My phone calls with my b.t works just fine . But music apps like Spotify / Google music doesn't work. I found a workaround using my aha radio app that came with the car and played my music with b.t through there just fine. So I know it's not the music apps problem . My girlfriend iPhone 7 bluetooth with Spotify works just fine, and it syncs into my car. But I don't know why mine stopped working.

You're not alone. I too am having the problem. I hope Google fixes this soon. If not, sad to say I am probably never buying another Pixel because this is ridiculous.

Hey, I found a workaround. Basically using my old nexus 7 tablet with Spotify and my pixel with hotspot for my tablet and then listening onto the n7 device. both bluetooth are turned on with n7 for music and my pixel for phone in my car options.You can use any other devices as long as it's not Oreo.

Would flashing a custom ROM fix this?
It's very annoying. My Volkswagen Golf (with RNS 510 Version S) will connect automatically with calls, but to get bluetooth audio streaming working, I have to manually disable bluetooth and then reenable before it will be seen by the car.
Prior to 8.0 this worked automatically.

At the moment, I have A Sena 20S for my motorcycle and an Plantronics headset, and if I activate Google with either one, using the buttons or just hitting the google MIC button, no audio is heard by the phone over the Mic.
really causes and issue for me. Any idea if there is a fix, I also made sure that Bluetooth Headset is set to on. No go. Frustrating, I ahve 30 days, if this is not fixed, i will need to send it back ..

Bluetooth issues on Oreo 8.0 & 8.1 update

Hi,
Since the Oreo initial update (8.0), when playing Youtube musics in my car, the title of the videos are not synced with the radio screen (a VW Passat). The first video played, the title is correct but from that point it basically stops updating or shows a previous played video title and not the correct one being played. On Nougat it worked perfectly...
So, I heard that Oreo 8.0 had some Bluetooth issues that Google addressed in Oreo 8.1. (you can imagine my question, right? ). When will Huawei release the update to our Mate 9?
BTW, anyone having Bluetooth issues with Oreo 8.0 that would like to share here?

I've been having BT issues since the Oreo 8.0 update as well. For me, I use a BT to FM modulator for my car. Used to connect to it with zero issues before update. Now since, sometimes it won't even connect unless unpair and re-pair the device. This does not happen with any of my other BT devices oddly.

In Developer Options I noticed there were options to change Bluetooth codec and bitrate. I have no idea if this will help, but it might be worth a try.

I get a crackling sound (BT headset), but sometimes also when I'm connected to the car in phone calls only, both ends of the conversation. I think my issue is more with an overloaded system at "quitting time". AT&T doesn't have enough towers in my area.

Had a BT issue with our car today (2014 Kia Rio). It failed to pick up when I told it to connect. ( Phone said connected but car didn't follow suit).Deleting the pair from the phone and the car plus a reboot fixed the issue for me. Sitting on B366 with stock everything.

My experience has been the opposite, running 8.0.0.366 (C432) with no BT issues. No issues now, no issues before under Nougat.
That includes connecting/streaming to cheap whiteline BT speakers, Sony BT speaker, Bosch and Clarion car radios, LG TV Soundbar, Xiaomi BT car lighter adapter, Gear S3 Frontier, Xiaomi Mi Band 2, sending files to a P20, sending files to a 2014 MacBook Air, etc.
All flawless, no disconnections even after extended periods of time (1h30 streaming continuously), no drop in sound quality, same long range.

Question BT audio trouble?

Anyone else finding that the Bluetooth audio can be a bit hit and miss, the audio has just fully cut out on me, but it displays as if it's still connected and playing via the headphones. I had no audio through either headphones, switching BT off and on, and rebooting headsets didn't solve it. Rebooting the phone brought the audio back, phew!
Out of the two headsets I have, My cheap Sony WI-C310's seem to work better, Using my jabra halo smart headset, it doesn't seem to connect media audio if it's also allowed to handle calls. I have to toggle calls off and just media to use Spotify with the headset (this could just be that headset being weird, think it got discontinued for not being great)
Anyone else having BT audio issues?
I've got a Huawei smart band 6 connected at the same time if that's a factor, it wasn't a problem on my original Nord though.

I have been facing the same issue for a while now, it's pretty random. There are times where it works perfectly and other times it either doesn't connect at all, or has a very weird delay, where it's fine in the beginning of say a video and gets a delay mid way through it. There are times where it only connects to one earphone, just issues all around. Also am using the oneplus buds z2, so honestly would expect it to work flawlessly with a oneplus device. The earphones work fine with other devices.

I've been getting random drop outs.
Both with connectivity with my car infotainment system and my cycle computer.
When I had my OP7Pro, never experienced anything of the sort when connected to these two same devices.
I've also tried enabling Bluetooth Gabeldorsche in the developer settings, and that didn't make a difference.
Will try changing the Bluetooth AVRCP version to see if that improves anything (currently set to the default of 1.5).
Has anyone else played with those settings and tested the impact?

Tested with 3-4 Bluetooth devices and no drop outs.
I notice that when I put the device in aereo mode the Bluetooth remain active, but in the latest days this problem doesn't happen anymore, maybe was a bug of the first fw, and after last update they have fixed?
